Note: We recommend heating the grill up prior to first use and allowing the fuel to burn out for at least 30minutes. Note: Only place food on the grill when the fuel is covered by a layer of ash! Note: Always open all ventilation plates[2] during use. The ventilation plates on the oven bottom[7] ensure that enough air flows into the product during use. This increases the cooking temperature. The ventilation plate on the oven lid[3] draws the heat and aromatic smoke upwards. This creates circulation inside the product. Place the grill on a sturdy, level surface prior to use. Max. capacity Smoking/Roasting: 1kg Direct grilling: 0.7kg Cooking recommendations Smoking and grilling (seeFig.J) When the fuel is burnt out and covered with a white layer of ash, pour 2litres of cold water into the water bowl[]. Open the oven lid[3] to allow the water to heat up for 20minutes. At the same time, soak 200g of food-grade smoking chips in the water for 20minutes. As soon as the product has heated up, place the soaked smoking chips on the fuel. Put a variety of foods on the cooking grid[] and place it above the water bowl[]. Juices and liquids from the food get caught in the water bath. Flavoured steam and smoke enhance the taste of the food.20 GB/IE

CAUTION! Only use food-grade, natural smoking chips. You can use smoking chips with different flavours in any quantity.

CAUTION! Under no circumstances use wood that is not suitable for smoking food. Only use wood that you know is suitable for smoking food. Not all types of wood are suitable for smoking food. Note: During use, check regularly that there is enough fuel left. Add fuel if necessary. Roasting (seeFig.K) Empty the water from the water bowl[] so that the water bowl can serve as an indirect heat source. With this indirect cooking method, the meat can be gently roasted. Direct grilling (seeFig.L) “Direct grilling“ refers to cooking food directly over the heat source (charcoal, gas burner, electric heating element, etc.). Thermal radiation has the strongest effect on the food when this traditional method is used, and this shortens the cooking time (quick cooking). Kettle barbecues and hooded barbecues also have a hooded cover and ventilation disks in the hood and oven bottom. The cooking time may be reduced further by closing the hood and opening the ventilation disks, the barbecue flavour becomes stronger if both of these options are taken. However, during exposed direct grilling it is possible that fat or marinade dripping from the food being grilled will fall into the heat source and burn. Therefore, when grilling very fatty or marinated foods, we recommend using a grill tray made from aluminium, or even better, one made from enamelled steel.21GB/IE Igniting the fuel

WARNING! RISK OF BURNS! Igniting using petrol or spirits, which are highly flammable, can cause the uncontrollable build up of heat. Therefore, only use safe burning materials such as firelighters. The grill must be placed on solid, stable ground while it is being used. Tip: To guarantee perfectly smoldering charcoal, we recommend using a chimney starter (not included in the scope of delivery). Use quality products with DIN approval, such as DIN approved charcoal, DIN approved briquettes or DIN approved firelighters. Stack up some of the charcoal or briquettes on the charcoal grid[]. Place one or two firelighters on the layer of charcoal or briquettes. Light this / these with a match. Allow the firelighters to burn for 2 to 4 minutes. Then, refill the charcoal bowl[] with charcoal or briquettes, bit by bit. A white layer of ash should form on the fuel after 15 to 20 minutes. This means that the perfect cooking temperature has been achieved. Distribute the fuel and smoking material equally in the charcoal bowl[] using a suitable metal tool. Mount the greased cooking grid[] and start grilling. Do not cook before the fuel has a coating of ash.22 GB/IE Cleaning and care

CAUTION! Allow the product to cool all the way down before cleaning it.
