Intended use
This product has been designed for private use for preparing barbecue food outdoors. It is not suitable for commercial purposes or for use as a fireplace.

Safety instructions
Danger to life!
- Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging material. Risk of suffocation.
Risk of injury to children!
• Children may not play with the product. Warn children specifically that the product is not a toy.
Take into account children's natural instinct to play and sense of adventure. Prevent situations and behaviours for which the product is not intended.
- When not in use, the product must be stored out of the reach of children.
Risk of injury!
- Fill the product with fuel to a maximum of 0.6kg.
- Check the product for damage and wear before each use. The product may be used only when in good working order and condition!
- Do not wear clothing that is too loose and be sure to tie back long hair while grilling.
- NOTICE! Do not use spirit or petrol for lighting or relighting!
- NOTICE! This barbecue will become very hot, do not move it during operation!
- Do not use indoors!
- NOTICE! Keep children and pets away!
- Keep sufficient distance from hot components because any contact can lead to very serious burns.
• Always wear grilling gloves or oven mitts. Use gloves as per the PPE regulations (Heat Protection Category II, e.g. DIN EN 407).
• Always use grilling utensils with long, heat-resistant handles.
- Always remain vigilant and watch what you are doing at all times. Do not use the product if you are unfocused, tired, or under the influence of drugs, alcohol, or medications. Even a moment's carelessness when using the product can lead to serious injuries.
- Hot fat can drip out of the fire bowl during use. Keep sufficient distance away because otherwise you run the risk of very serious burns.
- WARNING! Risk of carbon monoxide poisoning. Operate the grill outdoors only and not in enclosed spaces!

Fire hazard!
- Have a fire extinguisher and a first-aid kit ready so as to be prepared in case of an accident or fire.
- Place the product on a secure and even surface before use.
- Use only fuel that conforms to DIN EN 1860-2.
- NOTICE! Do not use spirit or petrol for lighting or relighting! Use only firelighters complying to EN 1860-3.
• Light the fuel only in an area protected from the wind. - Set the product up so that it is standing at least 1 m away from highly flammable materials.
- Do not leave the product unattended. Make sure that the fuel is fully spent and has cooled down before removing the ashes.
- Flammable liquids poured onto the hot coals produce flash flames or detonations. Never use liquid lighting fuels such as petrol or spirit. Do not add fuel soaked in lighting fuel to the embers.

Assembly

WARNING! Danger to life!
The product and packaging material are not toys for children to play with!
- Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging material or with small product parts. Risk of suffocation!
Note: For assembly you need both a phillips screwdriver (not included in delivery) and the tool (11).
- Assemble the product as shown in figs. B-E. To prevent unwanted material stresses, wait until assembly is complete before tightening all screws securely.
Use

WARNING! Risk of injury!
Improper handling of the product can lead to personal injury as well as damage to the product.
- Stand the product on a surface that is easily accessible, even, dry, heat-resistant, non-flammable and sufficiently stable (e.g. concrete floor, soil).
- The product may never be used on a wooden floor or any other flammable set-up area.
- The product may not be used on a table or similar work surface.
- Keep a minimum distance of 1m around the product in all directions.
- Never carry the product by its hinges as they might break.

The product is very heavy. Always have two people carry it.

Set up the frame at the desired location.
Note: Select a stable, fireproof base. If you wish to stand the frame on a grass surface, first lay paving stones at the desired location. These will guarantee that it stands securely.

Two people are required to lift the base unit into the frame.
-
Adjust the air supply with the perforated grid at the air intake (2c).
Lighting the fuel

WARNING! Risk of injury!
Improper handling of the product can lead to personal injuries.
- The product gets very hot. Never touch it with your bare hands during operation. Use suitable grilling gloves.
Note: Wash the grill grate (3) with warm water and mild detergent before first use.
Note: Heat the product before using it for the first time. The fuel must be heated for at least 40 minutes until red-hot.
Note: Do not put the food on the grill for cooking until the fuel is covered with a layer of ash!
- Open the lid of the base unit (2) and remove the grill grate (3).
- Pile up to 0.6kg of the fuel on the fuel grate (4) in the fire bowl (5).
- Place one or two pieces of solid kindling on the pile you've made. Light these from above.
- Close the lid of the base unit and open the smoke vent (2b) and the air intake (2c).
- As soon as the desired temperature has been reached, set the smoke vent and air intake as described under the heading "Temperature regulation".
- Insert the grill grate in and begin grilling.
Note: Always wear grilling gloves when you touch the grill grate.
Temperature regulation

NOTICE! Avoiding material damage!
Improper handling can lead to damage to the product.
- When cooking food at a low temperature make sure that the product maintains the desired temperature. The product can take several hours to cool down.
The temperature is regulated by means of the smoke vent (2b) and air intake (2c) (see table "Temperature regulation"). The wider the openings are set and the greater the airflow into the product, the higher the temperature inside will become.
To regulate the grilling temperature you must reduce the airflow. To do this, close the smoke vent and the air intake.
When you have fully closed the smoke vent and the air intake, no more oxygen can get inside and the fuel is extinguished.
Check the inside temperature with the thermometer (2a).
Grilling

WARNING! Risk of injury!
Improper handling of the product can lead to personal injuries.
- Injury may occur because of a flash flame. Do not open the lid of the base unit too quickly. At first raise the lid only about 25mm and wait a few seconds before opening fully.
- The product gets very hot. During operation never touch it with your bare hands. Use suitable grilling gloves.

NOTICE! Avoiding material damage!
Improper handling can lead to damage to the product.
- The product is ready for use immediately. Avoid pre-treatments such as burning-in or applying oil.
• Over time the product may become discoloured, turning dark. This is because of smoke and combustion.
- Do not put the food on the grill too soon. A layer of ash has to form on the fuel.
For direct grilling, which means cooking the food directly over the heat source, proceed as follows:
Note: This method is suitable for foods that need less than 25 minutes for cooking (e.g. steaks, cutlets, vegetables).
- Open the smoke vent and the air intake.
- Heat up the fuel and set the grill grate (3) in place.
- Place the food on the grill grate.
- Close the lid of the base unit (2) and open it only to turn the food over or to check its condition. To cook the food evenly turn it half-way through the cooking time.
- Regulate the air supply with the smoke vent and the air intake.
Note: For examples and cooking times consult the table "Grilling". The cooking times given here are merely guidelines. Times can vary depending on taste and quality of the food.
Slow cooking

WARNING! Risk of injury!
Improper handling of the product can lead to personal injury and damage to the product.
- Injury may occur because of a flash flame. Do not open the lid of the base unit too quickly. At first raise the lid only about 25mm and wait a few seconds before you open it fully.
- The product gets very hot. During operation never touch it with your bare hands. Use suitable grilling gloves.
There are certain foods that you can cook slowly with the product. For examples of these and their cooking times consult the table "Slow cooking". The cooking times given here are merely guidelines. Times can vary depending on taste and quality of the food.
- To light the fuel see the heading "Use", section "Lighting the fuel".
- Open the air intake (2c) fully and leave the lid of the base unit (2) open for about 10 minutes. At the same time the smoke vent (2b) should be opened just a little.
- Heat up the fuel and set the grill grate (3) in place.
- As soon as the desired temperature has been reached, close the air intake completely.
Note: Read the inside temperature with the thermometer (2a).
- Put the food for grilling on the grill grate (3) and begin cooking.
Smoking

WARNING! Risk of injury!
Improper handling of the product can lead to personal injuries.
- Injury may occur because of a flash flame. Do not open the lid of the base unit too quickly. At first raise the lid only about 25mm and wait a few seconds before you open it fully.
- The product gets very hot. During operation never touch it with your bare hands. Use suitable grilling gloves.
For smoking you will need smoking chips (not included in delivery). Moisten these with fresh water for about 15 minutes before using. For examples and cooking times consult the table "Smoking". The cooking times given here are merely guidelines. Times can vary depending on taste and quality of the food.
To smoke food for grilling, proceed as follows:
- To light the fuel see the heading "Use", section "Lighting the fuel".
- Open the air intake (2c) fully and leave the lid of the base unit (2) open for about 10 min. At the same time the smoke vent (2b) should be opened just a little.
- Heat up the fuel and set the grill grate (3) in place.
- As soon as the desired temperature has been reached, close the air intake just enough so that it is only slightly open and close the smoke vent.
Note: Read the inside temperature with the thermometer (2a).
- With grilling gloves scatter the smoking chips over the hot fuel.
- Put the food for grilling on the grill grate (3) and begin smoking.
Desiccating

WARNING! Risk of injury!
Improper handling of the product can lead to personal injury and damage to the product.
- Injury may occur because of a flash flame. Do not open the lid of the base unit too quickly. At first raise the lid only about 25mm and wait a few seconds before opening fully.
- The product gets very hot. Never touch it with your bare hands. Use suitable grilling gloves.
There are certain foods that you can desiccate slowly with the product. For examples of these and their cooking times consult the table "Desiccating". The cooking times given here are merely guidelines. Times can vary depending on taste and quality of the food.
- To light the fuel see the heading "Use", section "Lighting the fuel".
- Open the air intake (2c) fully and leave the lid of the base unit (2) open for about 10 min. At the same time the smoke vent (2b) should be opened just a little.
- Heat the fuel and put the grill grate (3) in place.
- As soon as the desired temperature has been reached, close the air intake just enough so that it is only slightly open.
Note: Read the inside temperature with the thermometer (2a).
- Place the food on the grill grate (3) on a sheet of baking paper (not included in delivery) and begin desiccating.
Storage, cleaning

WARNING! Risk of injury!
Improper handling of the product can lead to personal injury and damage to the product.
- The product gets very hot. Never touch it with your bare hands. Use suitable grilling gloves.
- Allow the product to dry completely before cleaning each time.

WARNING! Fire hazard!
Improper handling of the product and its fuel can lead to personal injury as well as the risk of fire.
- Never dump hot ashes or embers. Wait until they have cooled down completely.

NOTICE! Avoiding material damage!
Improper handling can lead to damage to the product.
- Never immerse the product in water. The ceramic may break.
- Do not use aggressive cleaning agents, brushes with metal or nylon bristles, or sharp cleaning implements such as knives, metal sponges, and the like. This can damage the surface.
• After grilling never pour cold water directly onto the embers to extinguish them. Otherwise you might damage the product.
- Dispose of the cold ashes and clean the product after use each time.
- Remove the grill grate (3) and clean it thoroughly by rinsing with water. Then dry it thoroughly.
- Remove the charcoal grate (4) and dump any remaining ashes from the fire bowl (5).
- Remove any loose deposits on the outside of the product with a wet sponge. Do not clean the inside with water because the ceramic absorbs any liquid.
- When not in use, always store the product clean and dry at room temperature.
IMPORTANT! Never clean the product with harsh cleaning agents.
Disposal

Dispose of the product and packaging materials in accordance with current local regulations. Store the packaging materials (foil bags, for example) out of the reach of children. For further information about disposal of the product no longer needed, contact your local council. Dispose of the product and the packaging in an environmentally friendly manner.

The Recycling Code distinguishes different materials to be returned for recycling. The Code consists of the recycling symbol for the recycling process and a number that identifies the material.
Notes on the guarantee and service handling
The product was produced with great care and under continuous quality control. DELTA-SPORT HANDELSKONTOR GmbH gives private end customers a three-year guarantee on this product from the date of purchase (guarantee period) in accordance with the following provisions. The guarantee is only valid for material and manufacturing defects. The guarantee does not cover parts subject to normal wear and tear that are thus considered wear parts (e.g. batteries) or fragile parts such as switches, rechargeable batteries, or parts made of glass.
Claims under this guarantee are excluded if the product has been used incorrectly, improperly, or contrary to the intended purpose, or if the provisions in the Assembly instructions were not observed, unless the end customer proves that a material or manufacturing defect exists that was not caused by one of the aforementioned circumstances. Claims under the guarantee can only be made within the guarantee period by presenting the original sales receipt. Please therefore keep the original sales receipt. The guarantee period is not extended by any repairs carried out under the guarantee, under statutory guarantees, or as a gesture of goodwill. This also applies to replaced and repaired parts.
If you wish to make a claim please first contact the service hotline mentioned below or contact us by e-mail. If there is a guarantee case, then the product will be repaired or replaced free of charge to you or the purchase price will be refunded, depending on our choice.
