Caustic fluid may leak from defective NiCd or NiMH battery packs (30% caustic potash solution)! Slightly acidic, flammable fluid may leak from defective Li-Ion battery packs! If battery fluid from NiCd, NiMH or Li-Ion battery packs leaks out and comes into contact with the skin, rinse the affected area thoroughly with water. If battery fluid leaks out and comes into contact with your eyes, wash them with clean water and seek medical treatment immediately! Do not recharge a fully charged battery pack! Overcharging damages and shortens the lifespan of the battery pack! Only use the charger indoors. Protect the charger from moisture. - Reduction in charging time with warm AIR COOLED battery packs of up to 50% and the maximum battery temperature during charging by approx. 10°C.
- Lengthening of service life of the AIR COOLED battery packs (mainly NiMH) by up to 50%.
- ACS 15 Plus: refresh mode for NiCd and NiMH battery pack maintenance.
- ACS 15 Plus: can charge vehicle starter batteries in combination with adapter 6.27076 (not included in scope of delivery). Before plugging in, check to see that the rated mains voltage and mains frequency, as stated on the rating label, match with your power supply. Before commissioning the charger, ensure that the air slots are free. Minimum distance to other objects is 5 cm.
8.1 Charging battery pack
Insert battery pack up to the stop in the charging compartment (1). If necessary, use an adapter for the battery pack (available as accessory). A battery pack that is new or has not been used for some time only reaches full capacity after being charged and discharged several times. The operating indicator (2) flashes. Note: To have the charge level displayed on Li-Ion battery packs (with 14.4 V and 18 V), first take the battery pack out of the charger and then press the button on the battery pack.
8.2 Conservation charge
Once the charging process has finished, the battery charger automatically switches to conservation mode. The battery pack can remain in the battery charger and is therefore always ready for use. However, never leave the battery pack in a disconnected battery charger because of the possibility of exhaustive discharge and damage to the battery cells. The operating indicator (2) lights up continuously.
8.3 Refresh mode (ACS 15 Plus only)
The NiCd and NiMH battery packs may discharge naturally by themselves and the cells in the battery pack may assume different charging states. The full power of a battery pack may no longer be available as a result. If you suspect that the battery is suffering from this effect, you can use refresh mode to restore full battery pack power corresponding to the battery age. Only for NiCd and NiMH battery packs - not for Li-Ion battery packs and vehicle starter batteries. Use a maximum of once a month for each battery pack.
1) Insert battery pack up to the stop in the
charging compartment (1). If necessary, use an adapter for the battery pack (available as accessory).
2) Press the refresh mode button (4) until the
refresh mode indicator (5) flashes. Refresh mode ends automatically after approx. 8 hours for NiMH battery packs or after approx. 12 hours for NiCd battery packs. The battery pack is then fully charged. Note: The battery pack can be removed from the charger at any time, thereby interrupting refresh mode. When the operating indicator (2) lights up continuously, this signals the end of refresh mode. The battery pack can remain in the battery charger and is therefore always ready for use.
8.4 Charging vehicle starter batteries
(ACS 15 Plus only) Only suitable for 6 V or 12 V wet batteries with a minimum of 20 Ah. Vehicle starter batteries can be charged in combination with the charging adapter 6.27076 (not included in scope of delivery). Read the directions for use and safety instructions accompanying the charger adapter.
9.1 Warning display (3) lights up
continuously Battery pack is not charged. Excessive/Insufficient temperature. When the temperature of the battery pack is between 0 °C and 50 °C, the charging process begins automatically.
9.2 Warning display (3) flashes
- Battery pack is defective. Remove the battery pack immediately from the charger.
- Short circuit between the charging contacts. Check charging compartment for foreign bodies.
- For Li-Ion battery packs (with 14.4 V and 18 V): During charging, the button for displaying the charge level was pressed. First take the battery pack out of the charger and then press the button on the battery pack. 8Use 9Fault 17024963_0309 ACS 15 AC 30.book Seite 11 Mittwoch, 4.
