8.1 Charging battery pack
10 Repairs 11 Environmental Protection 12 Technical Specifications We, being solely responsible, hereby declare that this product conforms to the following standards: EN 60335 in accordance with the Directives 2006/ 95/EG, 2004/108/EG. The chargers are only suitable for charging Metabo battery packs. This tool is not designed for use by persons (including children) with physical, sensory or mental disabilities, or with insufficient experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety, or have received instructions on how to use the tool by this person. The LC 60 is only suitable for charging Li-ion battery packs (7.2 V, 1.1 Ah - 2.6 Ah, 2 cells). Never attempt to charge batteries that are not rechargeable. Danger of explo- sion! The user bears sole responsibility for damage caused by improper use. Generally accepted accident-prevention regula- tions and accompanying safety instructions should be observed. WARNING – Reading the operating instructions will reduce the risk of injury. WARNING Read all safety warnings and instructions. Failure to follow all safety warn- ings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Keep all safety instructions and information for future reference. Before using the charger, carefully read through and familiarise yourself with all the enclosed safety information and the Operating Instructions. Keep all enclosed documentation for future reference, and pass on your charger only together with this docu- mentation. For your own protection and for the protection of your charger pay atten- tion to all parts of the text that are marked with this symbol! Danger - electrical voltage! Slightly acidic, flammable fluid may leak from defective Li-ion battery packs! If battery fluid leaks out and comes into contact with your skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If battery fluid leaks out and comes into contact with your eyes, wash them with clean water and seek medical treatment immediately! Operating Instructions Dear Customer, thank you for the trust you have placed in us by buying a Metabo power tool. Metabo power tools are very high quality. The service life of a power tool depends a great deal on you, however. Please observe the information contained in these instructions and the enclosed documentation. The more carefully you treat your Metabo power tool, the longer it will provide dependable service. Overcharging damages and shortens the life span of the battery pack! Only use the charger indoors. Protect the charger from moisture. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the tool. Keep children away from the battery charger and the working area! Keep your battery charger out of reach of children! Pull out the mains plug immediately if the battery charger starts to smoke or flames emerge! Do not use faulty battery packs. - Automatic balancing of the individual battery cells permits optimum utilisation of the available capacity and, at the same time, lengthens the service life of the battery pack. Before plugging in, check to see that the rated mains voltage and mains frequency, as stated on the rating label, match your power supply.
Insert mains supply plug. The warning display (3) and the operating display (4) light up in succession for approx. 1 second.
8.1 Charging battery pack
Insert battery pack (1) up to the stop in the charging compartment (2). The operating display (4) flashes and the battery is charged. When the battery pack is fully charged, the oper- ating display (4) lights up continuously. The battery pack can remain in the battery charger and is therefore always ready for use.
- Battery pack is not charged. Excessive/Insuffi- cient temperature. When the temperature of the battery pack is between 0 °C and 50 °C, the charging process begins automatically.
9.2 Warning display (3) flashes
- Battery pack is defective. Remove the battery pack immediately from the charger.
- Short circuit between the charging contacts. Check the contacts for foreign bodies. Repairs to the charger must only be carried out by qualified electricians. If the mains connection cable of this tool is damaged, in order to prevent endangering personnel and property it must be replaced by the manufacturer, or the Customer Service of the manufacturer, or a similarly qualified person. Metabo chargers requiring repairs can be sent to the address on the next to the last page. ENG Metabo's packaging can be 100% recycled. Worn out chargers and accessories contain considerable amounts of valuable raw and plastic materials, which can be recycled. These instructions are printed on chlorine-free bleached paper. Only for EU countries: Never dispose of power tools in your household waste! In accordance with European Guideline 2002/ 96/EC on used electronic and electric equipment and its implementation in national legal systems, used power tools must be collected separately and handed in for environmentally compatible recycling.
