Congratulations! You are now the proud owner of a OTTONI Electric Water Kettle, an electric water kettle by BODUM®. Please read these instructions carefully before using the water kettle.
IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed. Please read all instructions:
Before connecting the kettle to the power supply, check the voltage indicated on the appliance (under the kettle & base) corresponds with the voltage in your home. If this is not the case, contact your dealer and do not use the kettle.
In the case of obvious damage to the appliance or the cable, consult an electrician.
Repairs to electrical equipment may only be carried out by trained person(s).
Never allow children to use electrical equipment without supervision.
Avoid contact with steam coming out of the spout area when pouring and out of the lid when refilling.
Never use the appliance outside or exposed directly in the environment.
The boiler gets hot during use, therefore do not touch the appliance except for the handle.
Do not fill to above the mark "MAX", because the water may boil over and potentially splash out.
Scalding may occur if the lid is removed during the brewing cycles.
Never put the kettle near or on cooker hot plated or gas burner, or in a heated oven.
Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after the appliance malfunctions, or has been damaged in any manner. Return appliance to the nearest authorized service facility for examination, repair or adjustment.
Use only on a dry, anti-slip, level surface.
Never put the kettle, cord or plug in liquid.
Never switch on the appliance when its lid is open.
Make sure the kettle is switched off before lifting or pouring.
Always unplug your kettle when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts, and before cleaning the appliance.
If the kettle is overfilled, boiling water may be ejected.
Never immerse the kettle or cord in water, or allow moisture to contact with these parts.
If there is no water in the kettle, do not burn it. Otherwise, the stainless steel chassis will change color; repeatedly dry burning will reduce the life of the kettle.
Only suitable for water—never put other liquids in the jug kettle.
Wood handle is easily cleaned with a cloth and clean water.
Never put the water kettle on dishwasher.
The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the appliance manufacturer may result in fire, electric shock or injury to persons.
Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter, or touch hot surfaces.
To disconnect, turn any control to "off," then remove plug from wall outlet.
Do not use appliance for other than intended use.
Avoid spillage on the connector.
Potential injury from misuse.
The heating element surface is subject to residual heat after use.
This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and
above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children without supervision.
WARNING: Do not remove the lid while the water is boiling.
WARNING: Position the lid so that steam is directed away from the handle. The appliance (included kettle and its stand with plug and cord) must not be immersed. If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, it service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
WARNING: Do not remove the Steam Cap. It prevents water from entering into the Steam Tube and leaking from the kettle while in use.
