How to install my Fortress 900 V3 UPS?

Turn off your equipment, plug them into the UPS, then plug the UPS into the mains. Press the ON/OFF button to turn it on. Refer to the manual for details.

How long does it take to charge the battery initially?

Recharge the battery for at least 12 hours before first use.

What does the red LED indicate?

The red LED indicates that the UPS is running on battery (inverter mode), for example during a power outage.

Why is my UPS emitting a continuous beep?

A continuous beep indicates an overload. Ensure that the total power of your equipment does not exceed the UPS capacity (900 VA / 540 W).

What should I do if the LED indicators do not light up?

Check that the battery is charged (let it charge for 8h), that the power switch is pressed, or replace the battery if it is defective.

Battery backup time is very short, what should I check?

Make sure the total load is not excessive. A discharged or aging battery can also reduce backup time. Recharge it for at least 8h or replace it.

Can I use this UPS with a laser printer?

No, this UPS is designed for computer equipment (PC, monitor). Laser printers can cause overloads and are not recommended.

How to know if the battery needs to be replaced?

If backup time becomes very short even after a full charge, or if the UPS does not hold the charge, replace the battery with an identical 12 V model.

Can I open the UPS to repair it?

No, the interior contains no user-serviceable parts. Risk of electric shock. Contact a qualified technical service.

How to dispose of the UPS at the end of its life?

Do not throw it in household waste. Take it to a recycling center or WEEE collection point. Visit www.quefairedemesdechets.fr.

This manual contains important safety instructions. Please follow all instructions carefully during installation. Read this manual thoroughly before attempting to unpack, install or operate.

CAUTION To prevent the risk of fire or electric shock, install in a temperature and humidity controlled indoor area, free of conductive contaminants.

CAUTION Risk of electric shock, do not remove the cover. No user serviceable parts. Refer servicing to qualified service personnel.

CAUTION Risk of electric shock, hazardous live parts inside this UPS can be energized from the battery supply even when the input AC power is disconnected.

CAUTION Risk of electric shock, Battery Circuit is not isolated from AC input; hazardous voltage may exist between battery terminals and ground. Test before touching.

WARNING This is a Class A-UPS Product. In a domestic environment, this product may cause radio interference, in which case, the user may be required to take additional measures.

NOTICE The UPS is designed to be for use with computer loads only.

INSTALLATION AND OPERATION

Installation for Standard UPS

1. Shut down the load (for example PC), pull out power gird.
2. Put UPS on the proper position (following the manual).
3. Connect load (for example PC) to the UPS.

4. Put the plug to the AC power socket (make sure GND is connected well).

5. Connect to AC: press the panel switch turning on the UPS, the green LED and yellow LED light, then you can turn on your computer etc.

6. Battery mode: press the panel switch turning on the UPS, the red LED lights, then you can turn on your computer etc.
7. Normally turning UPS: press the panel switch turning on the UPS.
8. Normally turning off UPS: press the panel switch turning off the UPS.

TROUBLE SHOOTING

Symptom Possible cause Remedy
No LED display on the front panel. 1. Battery weak. 1. Charge battery up to 8 hours.
