Frequently Asked Questions - S10 Duo Xblitz

How to properly install the Xblitz S10 Duo dashcam?
Mount the bracket on the windshield, place the camera and plug the USB cable into the bracket. Route the cable to the cigarette lighter. For the rear camera, connect the AV cable to the AV port of the main unit. Make sure the camera does not obstruct the driver's view.
What type of memory card to use?
Use a micro SD card of class 10 or higher (U1/V10 recommended), up to 128 GB. Format it first on the computer in FAT32 or exFAT, then in the device. Insert the card when the device is turned off.
Why does my dashcam turn off or on by itself?
Check the Parking mode and Motion detection functions. These modes are designed for parking and may cause unexpected starts/stops while driving. Disable them before driving.
How to adjust the G-sensor?
In the menu, set the G-sensor sensitivity to the lowest possible value to avoid road bumps protecting too many files. High sensitivity can fill the memory card quickly.
What to do if the device displays 'card full'?
Format the memory card on the computer in FAT32/exFAT, then in the device. Check that the card is class 10 and up to 128 GB. Reduce the G-sensor sensitivity and disable parking mode if necessary.
How to use the rear view camera function?
Connect the rear camera to the AV port of the main unit. Connect the red wire of the rear camera to the + of the reverse lights. When you shift into reverse, the rear camera image automatically displays on the screen.
Why is the audio recording distorted?
The built-in microphone is very sensitive and records all ambient sounds, which may cause distortion. Avoid placing the dashcam near air vents. You can disable audio recording in the menu.
How to protect a recording from being overwritten?
During recording, press the Note button to lock the current file. You can also protect files in the Playback menu by selecting 'Protection'.
What is the device reset procedure?
Briefly press the Reset button located on the device. You can also restore factory settings via the general menu: Default settings.

PURPOSE OF THE PRODUCT

The Xblitz S10 Duo car camera, together with a secondary camera, allows you to monitor your vehicle's route and record any traffic incidents. The second camera can be used e.g. as a reversing camera, the set includes an active bracket with which the camera is powered, making it easy to install and remove the device. The video recorder is made from the highest quality components.

BEFORE USE

  1. It is recommended to use original micro SD cards of class 10 or higher.
  2. Before placing the memory card in the recorder, it must be formatted in the computer in the FAT32 or exFAT file system (depending on the card) and then in the recorder.
  3. The memory card must be installed when the device is switched off. Failure to do so may damage the card and the device. The same applies when removing the card from the device.
  4. Set in the menu:
    a. Date and time.
    b. Loop recording (adjust recording time). If you disable loop recording, the files will not be overwritten.
    c. Set the highest resolution available.
    d. Set the G-Sensor to the lowest possible sensitivity so that the camera does not catch bumps in the road and secure unnecessary recordings.
    e. Enable WDR mode.

  5. When the memory card fills up, the oldest unprotected recordings are overwritten.

  6. The camera will start recording automatically every time you switch it on (provided there is no permanent power supply in your car's cigarette lighter socket).

  7. It is recommended to use the functions of the device according to their intended use, that is, not to use the PARKING MODE and MOVEMENT DETECTION functions while driving. This may cause the recording to start

and stop automatically and unnecessary loss of storage space.

  1. Sound: the device has a condenser microphone that records all ambient sounds. Sounds may overlap causing distortion.

CONNECTION OF A REAR-VIEW CAMERA:

Connect the black cable supplied to the AV port on the main unit, drag it to where the secondary camera is mounted and plug it in. Make sure the main unit can see the secondary camera (if not, check that the cable is correctly inserted in both ports).

INSTALLATION OF A REAR-VIEW CAMERA:

The wires coming out of the rear camera should be connected to the power wires of the reversing lights (red = plus). Connecting in this way will result in a reversing camera.

The pipework leading to the outside should be well insulated and should not be mechanically stressed.

05. MAIN FEATURES OF THE CAMERA

1. Camera modes

The camera has 3 modes of operation. Recording mode: in this mode the camera records video. Photo mode: in this mode the camera takes photos. Playback mode: view footage recorded by the camera.

2. Loop recording

The camera divides the recordings according to the selected time. You can select the length of the files, when the memory card fills up the oldest recording will be overwritten.

3. Resolution

The camera can record in various resolutions. The higher the resolution the better quality of the recordings, but the recording files also take up more space on the memory card, it is recommended to use the highest resolution.

4. G-Sensor

Gravity sensor. When the sensor is activated on impact, the recording file is protected from being overwritten. It is recommended that the lowest available value is set, as at a higher value the camera may pick up bumps caused by unevenness of the road, which can cause the memory card to fill up.

5. Audio recording

Along with video recording, the camera can also record audio.

6. Motion detection

The camera has a motion detection mode that automatically starts a short audio/video recording when a moving object (e.g. a person approaching the car) is detected. The recording will be protected from being overwritten. To avoid unnecessary clogging of the memory card in the device, only activate the motion detection mode when you leave the car parked.

7. Rear view camera.

A rear camera is included to record video from the rear of the vehicle in Full HD resolution. The DVR can record images from both the front and rear cameras simultaneously without any loss in quality or resolution. In addition, when connected to the power cables of the reversing lights, the image from the rear camera will automatically appear on the display when you shift into reverse, making it easier to park the vehicle.

08. FAQ

  1. Device does not switch on, screen flashes

Charge the device battery and check the connection in the cigarette lighter socket before starting it up.

  1. The device does not switch on/off automatically

The reason for this behaviour may be the constant power supply in the car lighter socket.

  1. The camera stops recording / does not overwrite recordings

Check: G-SENSOR - a function by which recordings with recorded overloads (e.g. uneven pavement, braking, driving off a kerb or over a speed bump,

etc.) are protected from being overwritten. If you use this function, you must periodically format the memory card on your computer and then on the camera. Ultimately, each file on the data carrier will be protected from being overwritten and the device will not be able to record a further route - it will not record in a loop. We suggest setting the sensor according to your driving style and road conditions. You can also disable the option completely, in which case each oldest file will be overwritten and the card will not need to be formatted periodically. After adjusting the function, remember to format the memory card.

4. The camera turns on and off

Check: PARKING MODE/MONITOR and MOVEMENT DETECTION - function designed to operate while the vehicle is parked. You should deactivate the functions, before setting off, as they may cause the camera to switch on and off and make random fragments of route recordings.

If the functions are deactivated, check if the fault occurs without a memory card inserted.

5. The camera records fragments of the route / randomly lasting recordings

Check: MOVEMENT DETECTION - function designed to operate while the vehicle is parked.

You need to deactivate the function, before setting off, as it may cause the camera to switch on and off and make random fragments of route recordings. If the function is deactivated, check if the fault occurs without a memory card inserted.

6. The device shows the message „card full" or does not read the card

Check the „G-sensor” and „parking mode” functions and set them to minimum. The card must be formatted in the computer in the FAT32 or exFAT file system (depending on the card) and then in the recorder.

Check also: Is the selected card capacity and its specification (micro SD, class 10 - U1, V10 additionally recommended) suitable for your device (we recommend using cards from reputable manufacturers, we recommend: Kingston, Samsung, Sandisk).

If at any stage you encounter an error, replace the card with a new one from official distributors.

7. The device records noisy, distorted, unclear sound

The device has a very sensitive microphone that records all ambient noises. Recorded sounds may overlap. Windscreen air vents may also distort the sound.

8. The device does not respond

Briefly press the Reset button or reset the device to factory settings.

9. Transverse stripes appear on the recording

Incorrect setting of the frame rate value. Set the frequency value to „50Hz“

or „60Hz“ depending on local settings.

10. Bracket detaches from glass/does not stick to glass

Degrease the surfaces well before mounting the mount on the glass.

Remember to avoid high temperatures, which can cause deformation of the holder, and damage to the recorder itself.

NOTES:

- G-SENSOR - a function thanks to which recordings with recorded overloads (e.g. uneven road surface, braking, driving off a kerb or over a speed bump, etc.) are protected from being overwritten. If you use this function, you must periodically format the memory card on your computer and then on the camera. Ultimately, each file on the data carrier will be protected from being overwritten and the device will not be able to record a further route - it will not record in a loop. We suggest setting the sensor according to your driving style and road conditions. The option can also be completely disabled, in which case each oldest file will be overwritten and the card will not need to be formatted periodically.

- PARKING MODE/MONITOR - a function designed to operate while the vehicle is parked, uses battery power* if the DVR is fully charged - (*if it has a built-in battery). In this case, the camera starts recording a few seconds of video after detecting a shock - until the battery is discharged. When using this function, bear in mind the battery of the device, which needs to be charged after the function is activated (started). You should deactivate the function, before setting off on a journey, as it may cause the camera to switch on and off and make random fragments of recordings from the route.

*The constant power supply in the vehicle may cause this function to behave differently, e.g. leaving the camera on, which may drain the car battery.

- MOVEMENT DETECTION - a function designed to operate while the vehicle is parked - requires constant power and the camera must remain switched on. The DVR will start recording automatically when motion is detected, and will stop recording a few seconds after there is no movement in front of the camera lens. Please note that this function may drain the car battery.

You need to deactivate the function, before setting off, as it can cause the camera to switch on and off and make random fragments of route footage.

ATTENTION: The device has a built-in capacitor and only works with an external power supply.

NOTE: Use only the original charger with a charging current of 5V/2.5A. (Do not connect directly to a 220/230V socket). Failure to follow the instructions may damage the camera or lead to dangerous situations.

Due to continuous product improvement, the manufacturer reserves the right to change the device and its kit without prior notice, some functions described in this manual may change slightly different in reality.
