4. Gettingstarted

Note- o ptimisingreception
Pleasenote:
• Alwayspulltheantennaoutcompletely.
- Were recommend you adjust the antenna vertically to ensure optimal reception.
Note— P ownersupply

Withbatteriesinserted,theradioisalwayssuppliedwith powerfromthebatteries.Therefore,tooperatetheradio off a USB power supply, you should remove the batteries fromthebatterycompartmentfirst.
Batteryoperation
- Open the battery compartment cover, which is located on therearoftheradio.
- Todothis, slidethebatterycompartmentcoverinthe directionshown.
- Insertthebatteriespayingattentiontomatchthe polaritiescorrectly. Thecorrectpolarityisindicatedbythe plusandminussymbolsinthebatterycompartment.
- Thenclosethebatterycompartmentcover.
4.1 Switchingon
Warning- m ainsoperation

- Disconnect the product from the powersupply using the On/Offswitch— if this is not available, unplug the power cord from the socket.
- If you will not be using the product for a prolonged period, disconnectitfrommainspower.
- Connect a suitable USB power pack to the rear of the radio using a Micro USB cable (12).
- Connect the power pack to a properly installed and easily accessiblemainssocket.
- Waituntiltheradiohasinitialisedfully.
- Press [NAVIGATION/OK/VOLUME] (9) to switch on the radio.
4.2 General notesonuse
4.2.1 SwitchOn/ 0 ff/ S t a n d b y
- Press [NAVIGATION/OK/VOLUME] (9) to switch on the radio.
- Press and hold [NAVIGATION/OK/VOLUME] (9) for approx.3 secondstoswitchtheradiooff(standby).
- Tocompletelyswitchoffthedevice, disconnectitfromthe powersupply.
4.2.2 Navigation and control
- After pressing a shortcut button, navigate through the menuitemsusing.
- Selectindividualmenuitemsbyturning[NAVIGATION/OK/VOLUME] (9).
- Confirm the selection by pressing [NAVIGATION/OK/VOLUME] (9).
4.2.3 Volume adjustment
- You can turn the volume up (right) or down (left) by turning [NAVIGATION/OK/VOLUME] (9) accordingly.
4.3Language
The first time it is used, theradio's default language is English. To change radio's menulanguage, proceedings follows:
- Press[ ⚙] (3)toaccesstheSettingsmenu.
- Use [POWER/VOLUME/ENTER/NAVIGATE] (5) to navigate the "Language" menu item. Confirm the selection bypassing [POWER/VOLUME/ENTER/NAVIGATE] (5).
- Use [POWER/VOLUME/ENTER/NAVIGATE] (5) to select yourpreferredsystemlanguage.

• The following languages are a vailable: Czech, English, Danish, Dutch, German, Finnish, French, Italian, Norwegian, Polish, Portuguese, Slovak, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish
5. Careandmaintenance
- Only clean this product with a slightly damp, lint-free clothanddonotuseaggressivecleaningagents.
- If you do not plan to use the product for a prolonged period, turnoffthedeviceanddisconnectitfromthe power supply. Store it in a clean, dry place away from directsunlight.
