How to charge the Parkside PATC 2 B1 lamp?

Plug the supplied USB cable into the lamp's USB input port, then connect the other end to a SELV USB adapter (5 V, 500 mA) plugged into a mains socket. The charging indicator lights up red during charging and turns green when the battery is full. Charging time is approximately 5 to 7 hours.

What is the operating time of the lamp?

The maximum operating time is approximately 4 to 5 hours when the battery is fully charged. Operating time depends on the selected lighting mode (full power or reduced power).

How to attach the lamp?

The lamp can be attached in two ways: using the hook (to hang on a support) or via the magnetic base on a ferromagnetic surface. The articulation allows tilting the lamp up to 180° to direct the light.

What to do if the lamp does not turn on?

First check that the battery is charged. If it does not turn on, plug it into the mains to confirm charging. If the charging indicator does not light up, try another USB socket. If the problem persists, the battery may be defective. Contact customer service.

Can I replace the battery myself?

No, the lithium-ion battery is permanently built-in and not user-replaceable. Any attempt to replace it must be done by the manufacturer or qualified customer service.

Is the lamp waterproof?

No, the protection rating is IP20, meaning it is protected against solid objects larger than 12 mm but not against water. Do not immerse it and avoid moisture.

Can I use the lamp in a car?

Yes, but with caution. It is not recommended to use it while driving to avoid distractions. Make sure it is securely attached (with the hook or magnetic base) so it does not become a projectile during sudden braking.

How to clean the lamp?

Turn off the lamp and unplug it. Clean it with a dry, lint-free cloth. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth. Never use caustic detergents and do not immerse it.

Is it dangerous to look directly at the LED?

Yes, the light is very intense. Do not look directly into the lamp, as this could damage your eyes. Always direct the light away from people and animals.

What is the warranty period?

The lamp comes with a 3-year warranty from the date of purchase. The warranty covers material and manufacturing defects, but not normal wear (battery, etc.). Keep the receipt as proof of purchase.

Before using the product, please familiarise yourself with all of the safety information and instructions for use! When passing this product on to others, please also include all the documents!

Do not allow children to play with the product. Cleaning and user maintenance must not be performed by children without supervision.
This product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children. Children are not aware of the dangers associated with handling electrical products.
Do not use the product if you detect any type of damage.
- Protect the product from moisture and humidity. Never immerse the product in water or other liquids!
Ensure that the electrical socket is easily accessible so that you can pull the mains adapter quickly out of the socket if necessary.
Do not carry out any modifications or repairs to the product yourself. The LED cannot and must not be replaced.
- Dispose of the product when the product or the USB cable is damaged.
Ensure the USB cable 8 cannot become damaged by sharp edges or hot objects. Unwind the USB cable 8 completely before use.
Protect the product against heat and cold.
- Do not attach the hook 1 to hot objects. The weight of the product can then morph the shape of the hook 1.
The USB cable 8 provided is only suitable for use with the product.
The strip light 2 is very bright, therefore do not look directly into the product.
The illuminant is not replaceable.
If theilluminant fails at the end of its life, the entire product must be replaced.

DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries/rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. If accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention.

NGER OF EXPLOSION! Never recharge non-rechargeable batteries. Do not short-circuit batteries/rechargeable batteries and/or open them. ng, fire or bursting can be the result.

Never throw batteries / rechargeable batteries into fire or water.

Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries / rechargeable batteries.

Risk of leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries

• Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could affect batteries / rechargeable batteries, e.g. radiators / direct sunlight.
  If batteries / rechargeable batteries have leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes with the chemicals! Flush immediately the affected areas with fresh water and seek medical attention!

WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! Leaked or damaged

batteries / rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves if such an event occurs.
This product has a built-in rechargeable battery which cannot be replaced by the user. The removal or replacement of the rechargeable battery may only be carried out by the manufacturer or his customer service or by a similarly qualified person in order to avoid hazards. When disposing of the product, it should be noted that this product contains a rechargeable battery.

Note: Remove all packaging materials from the product.

Note: You can recharge the product using a normal household socket.

Note: To use the product without an adapter, you must first charge the integral rechargeable battery. It takes 5-7 hours to charge the integral batteries. The rechargeable battery is permanently installed in the handle of the product.

Note: Charge the product for approximately 12 hours before first use.

Note: Charge the product at least once a month, if it is to remain unused for an extended period of time.

Only connect the product to a properly installed USB socket by SELV adaptor with max. 5V = = (Uout) 500 mA.

Note: If the product has not been charged for an extended period of time (approx. 2 months), you could find that the integral rechargeable battery has entered a dormant state. Charge and discharge the product a number of times in succession to reactivate the integral rechargeable battery.

Note: The product has an overcharging protection system. Nevertheless, you should disconnect the product from the mains once the charging process is complete.

Note: The charging indicator 5 illuminates red during the charging process. When the charging process is complete, the charging indicator 5 illuminates green.

Use

CAUTION - RISK OF ACCIDENT! If at all possible, do not use the product in a moving vehicle. If the product is used in a vehicle, it must not be allowed to endanger the safety of the driver or passengers. Always store and secure the product in such a way that there is no risk of injury from or damage to the product, even during full braking.

Note: You can secure the product by using the hook or the magnetic base on a flat, ferromagnetic surface. Use the joint to tilt the product up to approx. 180^ on the magnetic base. The strip light can be rotated to a desired angle.

CAUTION! Please note the position of your hands whilst turning the magnetic holder to prevent pinching your fingers (see Fig. C).

Using the product disconnected from a power supply

Fully charge the product, as described in the section on "Charging the product".
The product can be operated in 3 different modes, select these by repeatedly pressing the ON/OFF switch.

Troubleshooting

Fault Possible causes and cures

No functions - Mains adapter is not fully inserted.

• Check the mainpower socket can be functioned properly.
• Check the house's fuse.
• The light is completely discharge or the battery is defective.

- Maintenance and cleaning

The product requires no maintenance. The LED is not replaceable.

• Switch the product off and disconnect it from the mains supply before cleaning.
  Never immerse the product in water or other liquids.
  Never use caustic cleaners.
  Regularly clean the product with a dry, lint-free cloth. Use a slightly moist cloth to remove any stubborn dirt.

Disposal

The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.

Observe the marking of the packaging materials for waste separation, which are marked with abbreviations (a) and numbers (b) with following meaning: 1-7: plastics/20-22; paper and fibreboard/80-98: composite materials.

The product and packaging materials are recyclable, dispose of it separately for better waste treatment. The Triman logo is valid in France only.

Contact your local refuse disposal authority for more details of how to dispose of your worn-out product.

To help protect the environment, please dispose of the product properly when it has reached the end of its useful life and not in the household waste. Information on collection points and their opening hours can be obtained from your local authority.

Faulty or used batteries/rechargeable batteries must be recycled in accordance with Directive 2006/66/EC and its amendments. Please return the batteries/rechargeable batteries and/or the product to the available collection points.

Environmental damage through incorrect disposal of the batteries/rechargeable batteries!

Batteries/rechargeable batteries may not be disposed of with the usual domestic waste. They may contain toxic heavy metals and are subject to hazardous waste treatment rules and regulations. The chemical symbols for heavy metals are as follows: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. That is why you should dispose of used batteries/rechargeable batteries at a local collection point.

Warranty

The product has been manufactured to strict quality guidelines and meticulously examined before delivery. In the event of product defects you have legal rights against the retailer of this product. Your legal rights are not limited in any way by our warranty detailed below.

The warranty for this product is 3 years from the date of purchase. The warranty period begins on the date of purchase. Please keep the original sales receipt in a safe location. This document is required as your proof of purchase.

Should this product show any fault in materials or manufacture within 3 years from the date of purchase, we will repair or replace it - at our choice - free of charge to you. This warranty becomes void if the product has been damaged, or used or maintained improperly.

The warranty applies to defects in material or manufacture. This warranty does not cover product parts subject to normal wear, thus possibly considered consumables (e.g. batteries) or for damage to fragile parts, e.g. switches, rechargeable batteries or glass parts.
