- Only use this device according to the instructions given in this manual.
- This equipment is not intended for use by people, including children, with limited physical, sensory or mental abilities, or by people lacking experience or knowledge, unless they are supervised or have been instructed beforehand on how to use the equipment by someone responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to make sure they do not play with the device.
- Check that your mains voltage is the same as that of your device.
- Always place the “NEW VAPOLUX” humidifier on a hard, flat, horizontal surface. Always keep it away from walls and heat sources such as stoves, radiators, etc. Please note: If it is not placed on a horizontal surface, the device may not work properly.
- Do not connect or disconnect the plug of the device with wet hands.
- If the power cable is damaged, it must be replaced by a similar cable available from the supplier or the latter’s after- sales department.
- Do not leave the device exposed to direct sunlight.
- Fill the reservoir only with clean and fresh, distilled or demineralised water.
- Do not take apart either the device as a whole or even its base unit.
- Do not switch on the device when there is no water in the reservoir.
- Do not shake the device. This might make the water spill over into the base unit and prevent it from working.
- Never touch the water and components when the unit is running.
- If there is an unusual smell when it is being used as described in these instructions for use, switch the device off, unplug it and have it examined by the supplier or the latter’s after-sales department.
- Do not use essential oils with this device.
- Do not pour hot water above 40°C into the reservoir.
- Unplug the device before cleaning it or removing the reservoir.
- Do not wash the entire unit with water and do not immerse it in water. Consult the cleaning instructions in these instructions for use.
- Never scrape the transducer with a hard tool. The “NEW VAPOLUX” humidifier must be cleaned regularly. To do this, consult the cleaning instructions in this handbook and follow them.
- Unplug a device that has fallen into water immediately before retrieving it.
- An electrical device must never remain plugged in without supervision. Disconnect it when you are not using it.
- Keep the power cable away from hot surfaces.
- Never use this device in a room where aerosol products (sprays) are used or in a room or where oxygen is being administered.
- Do not put items of clothing or towels on top of the device. If the nozzle is obstructed, this may cause the device to malfunction.
- When moving the device, lift it up by the base and not by the water reservoir.
- Do not use the humidifier if the air in the room is already sufficiently humid (relative humidity of at least 50%). The ideal relative humidity level for human comfort is in fact between 45% and 55%. Excess humidity manifests itself in New Vapolux 5EN the condensation on the cold surfaces or the cold walls of the room. To measure the room’s humidity correctly, use a hygrometer available in most specialist shops and hypermarkets.

Conversely, to remove the demineralisation filter, turn it anticlockwise. Instructions (see illustrations, Figure 3):
1) Place the NEW VAPOLUX humidifier in the room half an hour before turning it on so that it can adjust to room
temperature. 2) Make sure it is always placed on a hard, flat and horizontal surface, items (a) (b). Always keep it away from walls and heat sources such as stoves, radiators, etc.
3) Make sure the device is clean before starting to use it.
4) Remove the reservoir using its handle, item (c, d) and keep it upside down, item (e). Turn the reservoir lid in an anti- clockwise direction to open it, items (f) (g). Then pour clean and fresh, distilled or demineralised water into the reservoir. Replace the lid and turn clockwise to close it tightly, items (g) (f). Finally, fit the reservoir correctly on to the base of the device, items (e, d, c) (b, a).
5) Make sure your hands are completely dry when connecting and disconnecting the device and if they are not, then dry
6) The humidifier is now working.
Important note: The control panel of the device (item 4, Figure 1) is identical to the remote control (see Figure 2). 7) Press the “On/Off” button to switch on the device (item 1, Figure 2). Once the device is activated, you will be able to programme the various functions of the device as required. To do this, press buttons: - “Ion” to produce negative ions in order to neutralise the electrostatic charges (item 2, Figure 2). - “Max/Min” for adjusting the level of vapour emission intensity (item 3, Figure 2). - “Humidity” for adjusting the level of relative humidity in the room in which the device is placed (item 4, Figure 2). If you do not press this button, the device will be in manual mode, i.e. it will continue to emit the mist until you stop it or while there is water in the reservoir. Conversely, if you press this button, the device will go into AUTO mode and will only stop when it has reached the programmed level of relative humidity. To exit from this AUTO mode, you must go through the maximum programmable level of 90%. - “Timer” for adjusting the length of vapour emission (item 5, Figure 2). To exit this mode, you will need to go through the maximum programmable period of 12 hours. Important notes: - Only use clean, fresh, distilled or demineralised water to avoid any malfunction. - Do not pour water into the diffuser sprinkler tip to prevent malfunction and fire risk (Item 1, Figure 1). - Make sure the reservoir lid is tightly closed after filling so as to avoid leakage or potential electric shocks. - The reservoir must be kept clean. If the sprinkler tip emitting cold mist is dirty, clean it with a brush or damp cloth. Please note: EVEN THOUGH THERE IS A SAFETY DEVICE THAT STOPS THE TRANSDUCER WORKING, DO NOT LEAVE THE DEVICE CONNECTED WHEN YOU ARE NOT USING IT. Maintenance and storage: If the water contains too much calcium and too much magnesium, it may deposit a “white powder” in the device. If this foam is deposited on the transducer (white ceramic ring emitting ultrasounds (item i, Figure 3)), this will prevent the NEW VAPOLUX humidifier from working properly. New Vapolux 7EN Care We recommend:
1) Using clean, fresh, distilled or demineralised water each time it is used.
2) Cleaning the reservoir every 2 days and cleaning the transducer every week.
3) Cleaning the device (see explanations below) and making sure that all its parts are completely dry when it is not in
use. To clean the transducer (white ceramic ring (item i, Figure 3)):
1) Put 2 to 5 drops of vinegar on its surface and leave them there for 2 to 5 minutes.
2) Brush the foam off the surface with a soft brush. Do not use a hard tool to scrape the surface.
3) Rinse the reservoir of the base in clean water.
4) Do not use soap, solvent or spray cleaner to clean the transducer.
To clean the water basin:
1) Clean the basin with water using a soft cloth and vinegar if there is foam or limescale deposits on the inside.
2) Rinse the basin in clean water.
To clean the cool mist emission nozzle of the device:
1) Clean this with a brush or damp cloth.
2) Rinse the nozzle in clean water.
Storage Having cleaned and dried the device, store it in a dry, cool place out of the reach of children. TROUBLESHOOTING In the event of a malfunction, under normal conditions of use, please refer to the following chart: Effects Possible causes Solutions No steam, no light showing. If there is no light. Check that the device is connected and no breakdown has occurred in that area. The water level in the reservoir is too low. Add water to the reservoir. Water is leaking from the reservoir. Check that the reservoir is in the right position. The temperature of the unit is too low. Place the unit in a room at ambient temperature for half an hour prior to use. 8EN Mist has an unusual smell. The water has been standing in the reservoir too long. Clean the reservoir, then pour into it clean, fresh, distilled or demineralised water. Low intensity. Too much/too little water in the reservoir. Empty the water out of the reservoir or add water to it. Sediment on the transducer. Clean the transducer. The water is too cold. Use water that is at room temperature. The water is not clean. Clean the reservoir, then pour into it clean, fresh, distilled or demineralised water.
