The machine is intended only for use in the household.
5 - General safety instructions for handling power tools
WARNING! Read all safety warnings and all instructions.
Failure to follow the warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury.
Save all warnings and instructions for future reference.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless) power tool.
This unit may not be used by people (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capacities, with a lack of experience and without the appropriate knowledge, unless they are supervised by someone who is responsible for their safety or have been instructed by such a person with regard to how the unit is to be operated. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the device.
1 Work area
a Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.
b Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
c Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2 Electrical Safety
a Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
b Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
d Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
e When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
If it is not possible to avoid using the electrical tool in a damp environment, use a residual current circuit-breaker. The use of a residual current circuit-breaker reduces the risk of an electrical shock.
3 Personal safety
a Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
b Use personal protective equipment. Always wear eye protection. Protective equipment such as dust masks, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used for appropriate conditions will reduce personal injuries.
c Prevent unintentional starting. Ensure the switch is in the off-position before connecting to power source and/or battery pack, picking up or carrying the tool. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or energising power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
d Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
e Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times.
This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
f Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.
g Keep handles dry, clean and free from oil and grease. Slippery handles do not allow for safe handling and control of the tool in unexpected situations.
h If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of these devices can reduce dust related hazards.
4 Power tool use and care
a Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
b Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
c Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
d Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are
dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
e Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or binding of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
f Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to bind and are easier to control.
g Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc. in accordance with these instructions, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from those intended could result in a hazardous situation.
5 Use and treatment of the battery-operated tool

8 - Torque setting
The drill screwdriver has a 17-stage torque setting (2) in order to avoid damage to the bolt or drilling heads. By rotating the head on your drill screwdriver, you can adjust the stage necessary in each case, from 1 (easily turned screw) to max.
(stiff screw-driving/drilling). Always select the torque most favourable for the respective work.
9 - Operation
All standard screwdriver bits, bit holders and drills, up to a diameter of 10mm (not in the scope of delivery), can be clamped in the drill chuck (1) (Fig. 3).
The machine is provided with a quick-action drill chuck. In this way, you can replace the accessories in manual operation rapidly and without drill chuck keys (Fig. 4).
The drill chuck of clockwise/ anti-clockwise rotation machines is always fixed with a left-hand thread bolt. This is to be loosened in front through the drill chuck (1) before a drill chuck change. Left-hand thread bolts can be loosened through clockwise rotation only.
The screwdriver bits and drill bits with a length of 50mm can also be inserted directly into the bit receptacle.
Prior to start up
Insert a wood screw gently into the hole pre-drilled using a drill bit. Machine screws should be started off gently. Fit a suitable bit or socket to the battery-powered screwdriver and place firmly against the screw.
Starting and stopping
Caution! Risk of over winding caused by screwing screws in too deep. Watch the screwing process carefully and, if necessary, stop early and finish the process with
an ordinary screwdriver. Always practise first!
Starting:
Press the ON/OFF switch (3): The screwing process will start. Press and keep the switch during the screwing process.
- Stopping:
As soon as the screw has been screwed in or removed fully, release the On/Off switch. The process is completed and the working light will go out.

- Switch pressed hard = highest possible rotation speed, for boring.
CAUTION! Avoid the motor coming to a standstill under loading when boring or screw-driving!
Clockwise/anti-clockwise run
You determine the rotation direction with the aid of the slide switch (4) above the operating switch.

Pleases NOTE! Change rotation direction only with motor stopped!
- Screw-driving in bolts: Slide switch to Position R.
- Turning off bolts: Slide switch to Position L.
- Safety position: Switch middle position; in this position of the slide switch the device cannot be put into operation, e.g. in case of work
breaks, bit or drill change.
HI/LO switching (11)
With the HI/LO switch, two different speed ranges can be selected.
- Switch position LO: 0-350 rpm for turning screws in and out
- Switch position HI: 0-1200 rpm for screw-driving and drilling
The speed range to be selected is determined by the respective material and the planned activity, and is to be determined through work on a specimen.
CAUTION! Carry out changeover with motor stopped only.
11 - Maintenance and environmental protection
Clean the case only with a damp cloth - Do not use solvents! Then dry well. To maintain capacity, we recommend completely discharging and recharging the battery every two months. Store only fully charged batteries. They should therefore be recharged from time to time. The place of storage must be dry; the ambient temperature must not fall below 0^ or rise above 40^ .
CAUTION! Electrical and battery operated units that no longer work should not be disposed of in the
household waste! They are to be collected separately, in accordance with the 2002/96 EC directive for the disposal of electrical and electronic waste, and

sent for proper and environmentally-friendly recycling.
ATTENTION! Batteries must be removed from battery-powered tools and disposed of separately in accordance with relevant waste-battery regulations. Batteries must never be disposed of with domestic waste!
