STOP IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS
Follow basic safety precautions, including:
1 This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been supervised/instructed and understand the hazards involved
• Children shall not play with the appliance.
- Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
- Keep the appliance and cable out of reach of children under 8 years.
The surfaces of the appliance will get hot.
2 Don't connect the appliance via a timer or remote control system
3 If the cable is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent, or someone similarly qualified, to avoid hazard.
Don't immerse the appliance in liquid.
Steam will escape from the vents – keep away.
4 Don't use the appliance near or below combustible materials (e.g. curtains).
5 Cook meat, poultry, and derivatives (mince, burgers, etc.) till the juices run clear. Cook fish till the flesh is opaque throughout.
6 Don't use the appliance without fitting the drip tray.
7 Don't use the appliance for any purpose other than cooking food.
8 Don't use the appliance if it's damaged or malfunctions.

BEFORE USING FOR THE FIRST TIME
- Hand wash the removable parts.
- Initially, the element may smoke a little.
- This may smell a bit, but it's nothing to worry about. Ensure the room is well ventilated.
HOW IT WORKS
- It's similar to a fan oven, cooking with hot air and radiant heat.
- Add oil to the food as a coating, don't pour oil into the basket.
- The timer is clockwork. Turn it to 5 minutes more than the time you want, then turn it back to the time you want.
PREPARATION
1 Sit the appliance on a stable, level, heat-resistant surface.
2 Leave a space of at least 50mm all round the appliance.
3 Have oven gloves (or a cloth) to hand.
- You will need a heat-resistant mat or dinner plate to put the basket on.
- If grilling or using the skewewers, you will need a set of non-metal tongs.
4 To lock the basket handle, press the large central section into the handle.
5 The small end of the section will stick out from the opposite side of the basket handle.
6 To unlock the handle, press the small part of the section into the basket handle.
7 Open the door.
8 Unlock the basket handle.
9 Push the slot in the end of the basket handle over the lug on the basket.
10 Lock the basket handle.
11 Remove the basket from the appliance.
12 Check that the drip tray is fitted.
13 Close the door
PREHEAT
14 Put the plug into the power socket.
15 Set the temperature control to the required temperature.
16 Set the timer to 5.
17 The power light will glow
18 The thermostat light will glow, then cycle on and off as the thermostat maintains the temperature.
19 When the timer returns to 0, the appliance will switch off.
IN USE
20 Put the food into the basket – don't overfill the basket.
21 Leave space for the hot air to circulate between pieces of food.
22 Open the door.
23 Put the basket into the appliance.
24 Unlock the basket handle.
25 Detach the handle from the basket.
26 Close the door
27 Set the timer to the time you need.
SHAKE THE BASKET
28 Half way through cooking, remove the bowl, shake it, and/or turn the food over, then replace the bowl in the body.
29 The appliance will switch off when you open the doorl, then switch on when you close it.
30 The timer will continue to count down.
31 When the timer returns to 0, the appliance will switch off.
32 Unplug the appliance.
33 To switch the appliance off manually, turn the timer to 0.
FINISHED?
34 Open the door.
35 Attach the basket handle.
36 Remove the basket from the appliance.
37 Check the food is cooked. If you're in any doubt, cook it a bit more.
USING THE RACK
38 Use the rack for toast, bacon, or grilling anything less than 15mm thick.
39 Turn the food you are grilling at least once during cooking.
40 You may turn the rack upside down and use it to support the skewers.
41 Turn the skewers 2 or 3 times during cooking.
42 You may cook on the drip tray, but keep a close watch on the level of juices in the tray, and empty it before it can overflow.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE
43 Unplug the appliance and let it cool.
44 Wipe all surfaces with a clean damp cloth.
45 Hand wash the removable parts.
You may wash these parts in a dishwasher.
46 The harsh environment inside the dishwasher will affect the surface finishes.
47 The damage should be cosmetic only, and should not affect the operation of the appliance.

chicken tikka skewers serves 2
100g yoghurt 25 ml lemon juice
1 √ garam masala 1 √ paprika
1 √ ground cumin 12 √ salt
250g chicken thighs
Cut the chicken into 25mm cubes. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour. Preheat at 200. Thread the chicken on the skewers. Set the skewers on the rack. Cook for 15 minutes. Turn the food half way through cooking. Serve with a cucumber, tomato and red onion salad.
rosemary and garlic potato wedges serves 4 as a side dish
500g potato wedges 3 🌐 garlic (crushed)
3 ✉ rosemary, chopped 2 √ olive oil
1 semolina/fine polenta 1 salt
Preheat at 200. Mix all the ingredients in a bowl. Put the mixture in the basket. Cook for 30 minutes. Shake the basket half way through cooking.
lamb kebabs with mediterranean vegetables
serves 2
2 olive oil 1 garlic purée
1 √ ground cumin 1 √ dried oregano
250g lamb
the vegetables:
1 red pepper, sliced 1 courgette, sliced
2 tomatoes, quartered 1 garlic purée
2 olive oil 1 red wine vinegar
salt and pepper
Cut the meat into 25mm cubes. Mix the oil, garlic, cumin and oregano and lamb in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour. Remove the lamb from the fridge half an hour before cooking. Thread the lamb on the skewers. Season with salt and pepper. Set the skewers on the rack. Mix the vegetables, garlic, oil, and vinegar. Season with salt and pepper. Put the mixture in the basket.
Preheat at 200. Cook for 15 minutes. Turn the food half way through cooking. Serve with a yoghurt and mint dip.
fish goujons serves 2
75g breadcrumbs 2 ⚡ parsley (chopped)
1 lemon zest, grated 50g plain flour
2 ⑦ 350g cod/haddock
Cut the fish into 2cm strips. Mix the breadcrumbs, parsley and lemon zest in a bowl. Sift the flour into a bowl. Beat the eggs in a bowl. Coat the fish in flour, then in egg, then in breadcrumbs. Lay the fish on a plate. Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Preheat at 180. Put the fish in the basket. Cook for 15 minutes. Turn the food half way through cooking. Serve with lemon wedges.
roast beef with root vegetables serves 4
2 small carrots, sliced 2 small parsnips, sliced
1 red onion (thin wedges) 2 ≈ thyme
2 √ honey 2 √ olive oil
1 kg topside of beef salt and pepper
The cooking time is for medium-rare beef. For well done, add 15 minutes. Preheat at 180. Mix the vegetables, thyme, herbs, honey, and oil in a bowl. Put the mixture in the basket. Lay the beef on top. Season with salt and pepper. Cook for 60 minutes. Turn the food half way through cooking.
Rest for 10 minutes before serving.
roast chicken with fennel serves 4
2 fennel bulbs, sliced 4 🌐 garlic (crushed)
12 lemon 1 kg chicken
2 √ olive oil salt and pepper
Preheat at 180. Put the fennel and garlic in the basket. Push the lemon inside the chicken. Rub the skin with olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Put the chicken in the basket. Cook for 50 minutes. Shake the basket half way through cooking. Rest for 10 minutes before serving.
roasted squash and red pepper salad
serves 2 / serves 4 as a side dish
800g butternut squash, peeled
2 olive oil
2 thyme
salt and pepper
2 red pepper, sliced 1 🚫 sherry vinegar/red wine vinegar
50g rocket leaves
150g goat's cheese (soft)
50g pumpkin seeds
Preheat at 200. Cut the squash into 25mm cubes. Mix the squash, oil and thyme in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Put the mixture in the basket. Cook for 20 minutes. Shake the basket half way through cooking. Add the peppers. Cook for 10 minutes. Put the mixture in a serving dish. Leave to cool for 10 minutes. Add the vinegar and rocket leaves and toss to combine. Crumble the goats cheese and pumpkin seeds over the top.
vegetable spring rolls
makes 8
1 ✅ toasted sesame oil
2 √ soy sauce
1 garlic (crushed)
1 ♪ ginger, grated
1 carrot, shredded
2 spring onions, chopped
1 red pepper, sliced
50g beansprouts
50g fine rice noodles, cooked
1 ⑦0
4 filo pastry sheets, 24cm x 40cm
olive oil spray
Preheat at 200. Mix the sesame oil, soy sauce, garlic and ginger in a bowl. Add the vegetables and noodles and toss to coat. Cut the filo pastry sheets into 16 rectangles, each 12cm x 20cm. Put one rectangle on top of another. Put 2 heaped tablespoons of the mixture along one of the longer edges. Brush the opposite edge with beaten egg. Fold 2cm of the shorter side in towards the centre, to overlap the filling slightly, then roll up tightly and press to seal. Repeat with the remaining filo pastry and filling. Spray the spring rolls with a little oil, then put them in the basket. Cook for 12 minutes.
salmon, ginger and chilli fishcakes serves 2
250g salmon fillet 200g mashed potato
1 √ ginger paste 1 red chilli, chopped
4 spring onions, chopped 1 ⚡ coriander, chopped
75g breadcrumbs 50g plain flour

Preheat at 180. Put the fish in the basket. Cook for 5 minutes. Leave to cool for 10 minutes. Mix the fish, potato, ginger, chilli, spring onions and coriander in a bowl. Season with salt and pepper. Shape the mixture into 4 patties. Mix the breadcrumbs, parsley and lemon zest in a bowl. Sift the flour into a bowl. Beat the eggs in a bowl. Coat the patties in flour, then in egg, then in breadcrumbs. Put the patties in the basket. Cook for 15 minutes. Turn the food half way through cooking. Serve with lemon wedges and salad.
classic Victoria sponge cake
150g unsalted butter 150g caster sugar
2 ⑦ 150g self raising flour
1 salt
2 milk
1 √ vanilla extract
to serve:
150g raspberry jam 200ml double cream
2 √ icing sugar
Preheat at 170. Grease a 16 cm round cake tin. Mix the butter and caster sugar till pale and fluffy, then beat in the eggs. Sift the flour and salt into a bowl. Fold into the mixture. Mix the vanilla and milk. Fold into the mixture. Pour the mixture into the cake tin. Cook for 50 minutes. A skewer inserted into the cake should come out clean. Cool on a wire rack. Whisk the cream and icing sugar to soft peaks. When the cake is cold, cut it in half horizontally. Cover the top of the bottom half with raspberry jam, then the whisked cream. Lay the upper half on top, dust with icing sugar and serve.
