- Do not push the unit hard into the nose or ears. Only the metal tip of the head (1) should be inserted delicately into the nose and ear cavities.
- Do not use your unit if it is not working properly, or if there is any damage to the head (1) or the set of blades (7): doing so may result in injury to the skin, nose or ears. Do not attempt to repair the electrical unit yourself; instead, you should contact an authorized technician.
- This unit is only designed to trim nose and ear hair. Any other type of use should be considered improper, and therefore dangerous. The manufacturer cannot be held responsible for any damage resulting from improper or incorrect usage.
- Warn children of the dangers of
electrical equipment and inform them of the relevant safety standards. Never leave electrical equipment within reach of children.
• Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- The elements used to pack the unit (plastic bags, cardboard box, etc.) must be kept out of reach of children as they are a potential danger to them.

INSERTING / REPLACING THE BATTERY
Remove the battery cover (4) by moving it in the direction of the white arrow (Fig.1). Remove the exhausted battery, if there is one. Fit a new "AAA" battery in the unit. Close the battery cover again. In compliance with environmental protection regulations, please remember not to discard old batteries in the normal household waste, but always dispose of them at a specific collection point.
OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Turn the unit on using the ON/OFF button (5).
Using the Nose and Ear Head
Insert the metal tip of the head (1) into the nose or ear gently and with great care, to cut unwanted hair.
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
Important
Always make sure that the unit is turned off before cleaning the blades. Never immerse the entire unit in water (fi g. A). The only parts that can be cleaned with water are the set of blades and the head.
To clean hair clippings from the unit, remove the head (1) by turning it anticlockwise and take out the set of blades (7). Clean the two parts using the brush provided (6) or rinse them (fig. B). Make sure that both the head and the set of blades are completely dry before reassembling them. Use a soft cloth to dry them. Use the small brush provided to clean the beard and sideburn head. The body of the unit can also be cleaned using a soft cloth. Never use abrasive detergents or solvents.
DISPOSAL
- Dispose of the appliance in accordance with all regulations governing waste disposal and the safeguarding of the environment.
- Dispose of the batteries by delivering them to a special recycling centre.

Guarantee
VALERA guarantees the appliance you have bought at following conditions:
- The guarantee conditions for this appliance are as defined by our dealer in the country of sale. In Switzerland and the countries of the European Union, the warranty period is 24 months if the final purchaser is a private person (domestic use) and 12 months if the final purchaser is a company or business or professional (professional use). The guarantee period starts from the date of purchase as stated on the present guarantee card regularly filled out and stamped by the dealer or on the sale's invoice.

The guarantee is applicable only against submission of the present guarantee card or the sale's invoice.

The guarantee covers the elimination of all defects arisen during the guarantee period resulting from proven faults in material or workmanship. The elimination of the defects will be made either by repairing the appliance or exchanging it. The guarantee does not cover any damage arising from incorrect connection to the power supply, improper use, breakage, normal wear and non-compliance with the Instructions for Use.
- All other claims of any nature, including those for eventual damages outside of the appliance, are excluded, unless our liability is legally mandatory.
- The guarantee service is carried out free of charge; it does not affect the expiry date of the guarantee.
- The guarantee becomes void if repairs are undertaken by unauthorized persons.
For UK only: this guarantee in no way affects your rights under statutory law. In case of defect, please return the appliance well packed and together with the guarantee card regularly dated and stamped to one of our Valera Service Centres or to the dealer who will send it to the official importer for the guarantee service.

The symbol on the product or on its packaging indicates that this product may not be treated as household waste. Instead it shall be handed over to the applicable collection point for the recycling of electrical and electronic equipment.
