3. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR PLUGGING IN THE APPLIANCE
- This appliance complies with the technology standards and safety legislation relating to electrical appliances.
- To avoid harm or danger through inappropriate use, the safety instructions must be followed.
If you give the appliance to someone else, you must also give them the safety instructions.
- If the power cable is damaged, it must only be changed by a repair technician recommended by the manufacturer or by its technical service.
- The voltage of the power socket must be the same as that specified on the plate of the appliance.
- Plug the appliance into an AC earthed power socket. Do not place the cable on to sharp surfaces, do not leave it hanging. Keep the cable well away from hot or wet areas!
Before using the appliance, check that it is working properly! It must not be used if:
- The power cable is damaged
- The appliance is visibly damaged
- The appliance has been dropped.
- Never wind the power cable around the appliance.
- The power cable must not come into contact with hot parts of the appliance and must not be placed between the straightening plates.
- Only plug the power cable in when the appliance is switched off.
- When unplugging, do not pull on the cable.
Safety instructions for using the appliance
Always use the appliance for its intended purpose! - The appliance must not come into contact with flammable materials. Neither must it be used near flammable materials as the straightening plates reach temperatures of approx. 200°C
- Do not cover the straightening plates with objects!
- The appliance must never be switched on with the plates closed. Make sure that the appliance is open! People with nervous problems must not use the appliance when they are alone in order to prevent possible danger. Children are not aware of the dangers of electrical appliances. It is therefore necessary to supervise them when they are using the appliance!
- Keep the packaging materials, e.g. plastic bags, well away from children!

Warning!
There is a risk of burning yourself with the straightening plates and the hot parts of the appliance!
Do not hold the appliance by or near to the straightening plates when it is switched on. The straightening plates and the hot steam can cause burns. Avoid contact with your skin and eyes. Never carry the appliance when it is hot!

Do not use the appliance with wet hands, in the bath or shower or over a full sink. If the appliance falls into the water, unplug it immediately. Under no circumstances touch the water when the appliance is still plugged in!

When the appliance is being used in the bathroom, unplug it after use as the proximity of water can be dangerous even when the appliance is switched off!
- Never place the appliance on cushions or carpets while in use! After use, or if there is a pause for some considerable time, unplug the appliance and leave it to cool down.
- Do not place the appliance or the power cable on to hot surfaces, e.g. cookers or similar or anywhere near flames!

Warning!
Risk of burns from hairspray!
Do not use flammable substances, such as hairspray, mousse, etc., on your hair before using the appliance, as this can cause burns when the substance comes into contact with the straightening plates!
The appliance must only be used on dry natural hair. Do not use on artificial hair! The appliance is not suitable for straightening animal hair! - The installation of a protective device against current faults with a cut-out switch provides additional safety to ensure that the 30mA of your home installation are not exceeded. Unplug the appliance:
- If the appliance is not working properly
- Before cleaning it
- After each use
- Do not pull on the cable and do not carry the appliance by the cable!
Safety instructions for cleaning and maintenance
Always unplug the appliance from the power socket and leave it to cool down before cleaning or repairing it, or if a fault occurs during use! - Do not use the power cable to pull the appliance out of the socket or remove the plug from the socket with wet hands!

4. INITIAL USE AND HAIR STRAIGHTENING
Preparing your hair
- Wash your hair and dry it thoroughly.
- Comb your hair thoroughly; do not use hairspray or other flammable chemical hair care products.
- Wrap a towel around your neck to avoid burns.
Switch on the appliance
- Use the locking device f to open the appliance. Plug in the appliance and switch it on by using the ON/OFF switch b. The temperature control lights 1-3 will come on immediately; the 4th will flash until the appliance reaches its preset temperature of 160°C.
The preset temperature will be reached after approx. 1 minute.
Setting the temperature
Select the appropriate temperature for your hair type. You will find information on this in the table below.
Setting low temperature levels
- Press the - button repeatedly on the switch until the required temperature level is set. The minimum temperature is 100°C.
Setting high temperature levels
- Press the + button repeatedly on the switch until the required temperature level is set. The maximum temperature is 200°C.

N.B.:
For every new temperature selected, the respective control light will flash until the temperature is reached. The highest temperature levels will be reached within a few seconds; lowering the temperature will take longer.

Warning!
There is a risk of burning your hair if you select too high a temperature!
Depending on your hair type, an incorrectly selected temperature or inappropriate use of the straightener can dry your hair too much or even burn it. The following list shows the recommended temperature levels which must always be taken into account.

Always select the lowest temperature level (100°C) when you use your straightener for the first time.

Select a low temperature level of approx. 120°C for blonde, bleached or dyed hair.

Select a low (140°C) to medium (160°C) temperature level for normal and slightly wavy hair.

Select a medium (180°C) to high (200°C) temperature level for hair that is very thick, curly and difficult to straighten.
Straightening long hair
Hold the appliance by the handle g, always at a safe distance from your skin and eyes. Use a mirror.
- Divide your hair into sections of approx. 4cm.
- Begin at the roots and place the section of hair between the straightening plates.
- Close the appliance and pull on the straightener gently from the roots until the tips of your hair. Repeat until all of your hair is straight to your liking.
Once finished, leave your hair to cool down and then comb it thoroughly.
Straightening short hair
Follow the instructions for long hair, but instead of pulling the straightener along your hair, keep the straightener in the same place for approximately 10 seconds.
Switching off the appliance
- Switch off the appliance by using the ON/OFF switch b. The alternative automatic switch-off will be activated after 60 minutes.
5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Risk of electrocution!
Switch the appliance off before cleaning it and unplug it.
Risk of burns!
It is essential to leave the appliance to cool down completely.
- Before cleaning the appliance, unplug it from the power socket!
- Do not put the appliance in water!
- Look after your appliance! Do not use sharp or abrasive cleaning agents! You can clean your appliance with a
slightly damp cloth and dry it with a soft dry cloth. - If the straightening plates get dirty, use some drops of washing-up liquid to help to clean them. Make sure that you remove all remnants of the detergent from the straightening plates!
Protecting the environment


- The packaging materials and the appliance with its accessories are made from recyclable materials.
- Appropriate sorting and disposal of the materials helps them to be recycled.
Disposing of the appliance

This symbol on the product, the instructions for use and the packaging indicate that this product, at the end of its
service life, cannot be thrown into the normal rubbish bin. It must be disposed of at a collection centre for the recycling of electrical or electronic appliances. The materials must be recycled in accordance with their classification. By disposing of the used appliance correctly, recycling materials and other forms of recycling are making a valuable contribution to protecting our environment. 4. INITIAL USE AND STRAIGHTENING THE HAIR
Preparing the hair
- Wash the hair and dry it well. Comb the hair well and do not use any other chemical products for hair care.
- Place the plug near the socket to avoid evaporation.
Switching on the device
- Use the lock button "f" to open the plates. Insert the plug into the socket and switch on the device with the on/off switch "b". The temperature indicators 1-3 will light up constantly, and 4-5 will flash until the plates reach the preset temperature of 160°C.
The preset temperature is reached in about 1 minute.
Setting the temperature
Select the appropriate temperature for your
hair type. See the table below for details!
Setting the low temperature level
Press the button "-" repeatedly until the desired low temperature is set. The minimum temperature is 100°C.
Setting the high temperature level
Press the button "+" repeatedly until the desired high temperature is set. The maximum temperature is 200°C.

Indicator!
For each newly selected temperature, the corresponding LED indicator will flash until the temperature is reached. The higher temperature levels are reached within a few seconds, while lowering the temperature takes more time.

Warning!
There is a risk of burning the hair if you select a very high temperature!
Depending on the type of your hair, the selected temperature and the use of the press may dry out the recommended hair or even burn it. Follow the recommended temperature levels as indicated,
which should be taken into special consideration.

Always select the lowest temperature level (100°C) when using the press for the first time.

Select a low temperature level around 120°C for fine or chemically treated hair.

Select a low (140°C) to medium (160°C) temperature level for normal and slightly wavy hair.

Medium temperature (180°C) to high (200°C) for straightening, suitable for hair and straightening iron.
Straightening curly hair
Hold the straightener by the handle "g", keeping a safe distance from skin and eyes. Use a mirror.
Divide the hair into sections, about 4 cm wide. Start from the roots and place the section of hair between the plates. Slide down towards the ends of the hair slowly. Repeat until the hair is straightened as desired.
When finished, let the hair cool down and then style it well.
Straightening wavy hair
Follow the instructions for straightening, but instead of pulling the straightener down the length of the hair, hold it in place for about 10 seconds at a time.
Switching off the device
- Switch off the straightener using the on/off switch "b". Otherwise, the automatic shut-off will activate after 60 minutes.
5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Risk of electric shock! Switch off the device before cleaning and remove the plug from the socket. Risk of burns! It is very important to let the device cool down completely.
- Before cleaning, disconnect the device from the power supply! Do not immerse the device in water!
- Unplug the straightener! Do not use sharp objects or abrasive cleaning agents! You can clean the device with a slightly damp cloth and then dry it with a dry cloth. If the plates are dirty, use a little cleaning agent for metal to clean them more easily. Make sure you have removed all remaining cleaning agent from the plates.

THE DEVICE

When handing the device to another person, the safety instructions must also be handed over. In case of damage to the power cord, its replacement must be carried out by a specialist from a repair service recommended by the manufacturer, or by its service department.
- The voltage of the power source must correspond to the value indicated on the device's nameplate. Plug the device's plug into a grounded AC outlet. Do not place the cord on surfaces with sharp edges and do not allow it to become tangled. Keep the cord away from hot and damp places!
- Before using the device, make sure it is working correctly!
- It is forbidden to use the device in the following cases:
- if the power cord is damaged; - if there are visible damages on the device; - if the device has fallen.

Instructions for technical safety during use and care of the product
- Before cleaning or repairing the device, it must be unplugged from the mains and allowed to cool down. 4. FIRST USE AND HAIR STRAIGHTENING
Hair preparation
- Wash your hair and dry it well. Carefully comb your hair; do not use any cosmetics or products containing alcohol for hair care. To avoid accidental burns, cover your neck before using the straightener or any other similar device.
Turning on the device
To open the device, use the locking latch f. Plug the plug into the mains, then turn on the device with the on/off switch b. At the same time, the temperature control indicators 1-3 will light up, and it will take a while until the heating temperature of the device reaches the preset value of 160°C
The heating temperature of the device reaches the preset value approximately after 1 minute.
Setting the temperature level
Select the temperature level that suits your hair type. The instructions regarding this are given below.
Setting low temperature levels
Press the button 一 on the switch repeatedly until the required
temperature level is displayed. The minimum temperature that can be set is 100°C
Setting high temperature levels
Press the button 一 + 一 on the switch repeatedly until the required temperature level is displayed. The maximum temperature that can be set is 200°C

Note
When you select (set) a new temperature, the corresponding light indicator starts blinking and continues until the set temperature value is reached. When setting higher temperature values, they are reached within a few seconds, while lowering the temperature requires more time.

Warning!
If you select too high a temperature, there is a risk of burning your hair!
Incorrect setting of the temperature level or improper use of the straightener can lead to excessive hair damage and even burning. This depends on the type of your hair. Below is a list of recommended
examples of temperature levels that you should always follow.

If you are using the straightener for the first time, start by setting the minimum temperature level (100°C).

For light, bleached, or colored hair, set the temperature level to 120°C.

For normal and slightly wavy hair, choose a temperature level in the range from low (140°C) to medium (160°C).

If your hair is very thick, wavy, or difficult to straighten, set the temperature level in the range from medium (180°C) to high (200°C).
Straightening long hair
While using the device, hold it by the handle and constantly make sure that the plates are at a safe distance from the skin and eyes. Use a mirror.
Divide your hair into sections about 4 cm thick. Starting from the roots, place a section between the straightening plates. Close the device and slowly glide the straightener from the roots to the ends of the hair. Repeat these steps until your hair is as straight as you want it to be.
Straighten all hair, let it cool, then comb it.
Straightening short hair
Follow the instructions for straightening long hair, but instead of pulling the straightener through, hold the plates in one place for about 10 seconds.
Turning off the appliance
To turn off the appliance, use the on/off switch. If you turn off the appliance, it will turn off automatically after 60 minutes.
