- Thisappliancecomplieswiththe technology standards and safety legislation relating to electrical appliances.
- Toavoidharmordangerthrough inappropriate use, the safety instructions must be followed.
- Ifyougivetheappliancetosomeone else,youmustalsogivethemthesafety instructions.
- Ifthepowercableisdamaged,itmust only be changed by a repair technician recommended by the manufacturer or byitstechnicalservice.
- Thevoltageofthepowersocketmust be the same as that specified on the plate of the appliance.
- PlugtheapplianceintoanACearthed powersocket.Donotplacethecable ontosharpsurfaces,donotleaveit hanging. Keep the cable well away from hot or wet areas!
- Thepowercablemustnotcomeinto contact with hot parts of the appliance and must not be placed between the straightening plates.
- Onlyplugthepowercableinwhenthe appliance is switched off.
- Theappliancemustnotcomeinto contact with flammable materials. Neither must it be used near flammable materials as the straightening plates reach temperatures of approx. 200ºC!
3. SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS FOR
PLUGGING IN THE APPLIANCE

Please read the instructions thoroughly and keep them in a safe place. All the instructions for use are designed for your own safety!
2. PARTS OF THE APPLIANCE12
- Donotcoverthestraighteningplates with objects!
- Theappliancemustneverbeswitched onwiththeplatesclosed.Makesure that the appliance is open!
- Keepthepackagingmaterials,e.g. plastic bags, well away from children! Warning! There is a risk of burning yourself with the straightening plates and the hot parts of the appliance! Donotholdtheappliancebyorneartothe straightening plates when it is switched on. Thestraighteningplatesandthehotsteam cancauseburns.Avoidcontactwithyour skinandeyes.Nevercarrytheappliance when it is hot! Warning! Risk of electrocution Donotusetheappliancewithwethands, inthebathorshoweroroverafullsink.If the appliance falls into the water, unplug itimmediately.Undernocircumstances touch the water when the appliance is still plugged in! Warning! Risk of electrocution When the appliance is being used in the bathroom, unplug it after use as the proximityofwatercanbedangerouseven when the appliance is switched off!
- Neverplacetheapplianceoncushionsor carpets while in use!
- Afteruse,orifthereisapauseforsome considerable time, unplug the appliance andleaveittocooldown.
- Donotplacetheapplianceorthepower cableontohotsurfaces,e.g.cookersor similar or anywhere near flames! Warning! Risk of burns from hairspray! Donotuseflammablesubstances,suchas hairspray, mousse, etc, on your hair before using the appliance as this can cause burns when the substance comes into contact with the straightening plates!
- Theappliancemustonlybeusedondry naturalhair.Donotuseonartificialhair!
- Theapplianceisnotsuitablefor straightening animal hair!
- Theinstallationofaprotectivedevice against current faults with a cut-out switchprovidesadditionalsafetyto ensure that the 30mA of your home installation are not exceeded.

- Donotpullonthecableanddonot carry the appliance by the cable! Safety instructions for cleaning and maintenance
- Alwaysunplugtheappliancefromthe powersocketandleaveittocooldown before cleaning or repairing it, or if a fault occurs during use!

4. INITIAL USE AND HAIR
STRAIGHTENING Preparing your hair
- Washyourhairanddryitthoroughly.
- Combyourhairthoroughly;donotuse hairspray or other flammable chemical hair care products.
- Wrapatowelaroundyournecktoavoid burns. Switch on the appliance
- Usethelockingdeviceftoopenthe appliance. Plug in the appliance and switchitonbyusingtheON/OFFswitch b.Thetemperaturecontrollights1-3will come on immediately; the 4th will flash until the appliance reaches its preset temperature of 160ºC. Thepresettemperaturewillbereached after approx. 1 minute. Setting the temperature Selecttheappropriatetemperatureforyour hair type. You will find information on this in the table below. Setting low temperature levels
- Pressthe–buttonrepeatedlyonthec switch until the required temperature levelisset.Theminimumtemperatureis 100ºC. Setting high temperature levels
- Pressthe+buttonrepeatedlyonthec switch until the required temperature levelisset.Themaximumtemperatureis 200ºC. N.B.: Foreverynewtemperatureselected,the respectivecontrollightwillflashuntil thetemperatureisreached.Thehighest temperaturelevelswillbereachedwithina few seconds; lowering the temperature will takelonger. Temperature levels that can be selected 100ºC 120ºC 140ºC 160ºC 180ºC 200ºC Warning! There is a risk of burning your hair if you select too high a temperature! Dependingonyourhairtype,anincorrectly selected temperature or inappropriate use of the straightener can dry your hair toomuchorevenburnit.Thefollowing list shows the recommended temperature levelswhichmustalwaysbetakeninto account. Always select the lowest temperaturelevel(100ºC)when you use your straightener for the first time. Selectalowtemperaturelevel of approx. 120ºC for blonde, bleached or dyed hair. Selectalow(140ºC)tomedium (160ºC)temperaturelevelfor normalandslightlywavyhair.14 Selectamedium(180ºC)tohigh (200ºC)temperaturelevelfor hairthatisverythick,curlyand difficult to straighten. Straightening long hair Holdtheappliancebythehandleg,always atasafedistancefromyourskinandeyes. Useamirror.
- Divideyourhairintosectionsofapprox. 4cm.
- Beginattherootsandplacethesection of hair between the straightening plates
- Closetheapplianceandpullonthe straightener gently from the roots until the tips of your hair. Repeat until all of yourhairisstraighttoyourliking. Oncefinished,leaveyourhairtocooldown and then comb it thoroughly. Straightening short hair Follow the instructions for long hair, but instead of pulling the straightener along yourhair,keepthestraightenerinthesame place for approximately 10 seconds. Switching off the appliance
- Switchofftheappliancebyusingthe ON/OFFswitchb.Thealternative automatic switch-offwillbeactivated after 60 minutes.
5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE
- Riskofelectrocution! Switch the appliance off before cleaning it and unplug it.
- Riskofburns! It is essential to leave the appliance to cool down completely.
- Youcancleanyourappliancewitha slightly damp cloth and dry it with a soft dry cloth.
- Ifthestraighteningplatesgetdirty,use some drops of washing-up liquid to helptocleanthem.Makesurethatyou removeallremnantsofthedetergent from the straightening plates! Protecting the environment
- Thepackagingmaterialsandthe appliance with its accessories are made from recyclable materials.
- Appropriatesortinganddisposalofthe materials helps them to be recycled. Disposing of the appliance Thissymbolontheproduct, the instructions for use and thepackagingindicatethat this product, at the end of its servicelife,cannotbethrownintothe normalrubbishbin.Itmustbedisposedof at a collection centre for the recycling of electrical or electronic appliances. Thematerialsmustberecycledin accordancewiththeirclassification.By disposing of the used appliance correctly, recycling materials and other forms of recyclingaremakingavaluablecontribution toprotectingourenvironment. Askyourlocalauthorityforalistofthe appropriate recycling points.15
6. INFORMATION FOR THE CORRECT
DISPOSAL OF ELECTRICAL AND
ELECTRONIC APPLIANCES Attheendofitsworking life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. Itmustbetakentoaspecial local authority differentiated waste collection centre or to adealerprovidingthisservice.Disposing ofahouseholdapplianceseparatelyavoids possiblenegativeconsequencesforthe environmentandhealthderivingfrom inappropriate disposal and enables the constituentmaterialstoberecoveredto obtainsignificantsavingsinenergyand resources. Toremindyouthatyoumustcollaborate withaselectivecollectionscheme,the symbol shown appears on the product warning you not to dispose of it in traditional refuse containers.
