2. PARTS OF THE APPLIANCE10
• Do not cover the straightening plates
• The appliance must never be switched
on with the plates closed. Make sure
that the appliance is open!
• People with nervous problems must not
use the appliance when they are alone in
order to prevent possible danger.
• Children are not aware of the dangers
of electrical appliances. It is therefore
necessary to supervise them when they
are using the appliance!
• Keep the packaging materials, e.g.
plastic bags, well away from children!
There is a risk of burning yourself with
the straightening plates and the hot
parts of the appliance!
Do not hold the appliance by or near to the
straightening plates when it is switched on.
The straightening plates and the hot steam

4. INITIAL USE AND HAIR STRAIGHTENING Preparing your hair
• Wash your hair and dry it thoroughly.
• Comb your hair thoroughly; do not use
hairspray or other flammable chemical
• Wrap a towel around your neck to avoid

During operation or during the cooling
phase, place the appliance only on the

Straightening long hair
Hold the appliance at the handle i, always
at a safe distance from skin and eyes. Use
• Part your hair into approx. 4 cm strands.

• Begin at the roots and lay the prepared
strands one at a time between the

appliance and draw the hair straightener
slowly from the roots through to the tips
of your hair (see fig. 3). Repeat until your
hair is as straight as you desire.
After finishing styling, let your hair cool
down and then comb it through.
Straightening short hair
Follow the instructions as for long hair,
but instead of drawing the appliance
through your hair, clamp the strands in the
appliance for approx. 10 seconds.
Styling hair in curls or waves
To form curls or waves, you should operate
the appliance with both hands.
To get a better grip on the appliance, grasp
it by the handle area i as well as by the

your skin and eyes. Never transport the
appliance when it is hot!
5. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

It is essential to leave the appliance
to cool down completely.
• Before cleaning the appliance, unplug it
from the power socket!
• Do not put the appliance in water!
• Look after your appliance! Do not use
sharp or abrasive cleaning agents!
• You can clean your appliance with a
slightly damp cloth and dry it with a soft

some drops of washing-up liquid to

remove all remnants of the detergent
