Please read these instructions carefully before using the appliance. Keep this instruction manual for future reference or new users.

This symbol means “Caution, hot surface”. The accessible surfaces of the appliance may reach high temperatures during operation. Be careful not to burn yourself.
- The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.
- Check the power cord regularly for visible damage. If the cord is damaged, it must be repaired by Cecotec's Official Technical Support Service to avoid any hazard.

- Place the appliance on a dry, stable, heat-resistant surface. Position the appliance in such a way to avoid spillage of hot liquids. Be especially careful with the handle.

  • Do not immerse the cord, plug, or any other non-removable part of the appliance in water or any other liquid or expose electrical connections to water. Make sure your hands are dry before handling the plug or switching on the appliance.
  • Make sure that the mains voltage matches the voltage stated on the appliance marking and that the wall outlet is earthed.
  • The appliance will be very hot during and immediately after operation. Use gloves or other convenient protective equipment to avoid burns and injuries.
  • Use a heat-resistant base when using the appliance on surfaces sensitive to high temperatures.
  • Do not twist, bend, pull, or damage the power cord. Protect it from sharp edges and heat sources. Never let the power cord come into contact with hot surfaces. Do not let the cord hang over the edge of the working surface or worktop.
  • Do not use the appliance outdoors, near a gas or electric hob, in heated ovens, or near open flames.
  • Do not operate the appliance after it has been dropped or if it malfunctions.
  • Extreme caution must be taken when moving the appliance.
  • Always turn off and disconnect the appliance from the power supply when not in use or if it is not going to be used for a long period of time and before cleaning it. To unplug the appliance, pull the plug, not the cord.

2. BEFORE USE

  • This appliance comes in a packaging designed to protect it during transport. Remove the appliance from its box. You can keep the original box and other packaging materials in a safe place to prevent damage to the appliance if you need to transport it in the future. If you wish to dispose of the original packaging, make sure all items are recycled properly.
  • Check that all parts and components are included and in good condition. If any of them are missing or damaged, please contact Cecotec's Official Technical Support Service immediately.

3. OPERATION

1. Colour bar

Appliance's operating status.

1) When the whole bar flashes, it means that the appliance is in standby mode.
2) When only one part flashes, it means that the appliance is heating up.

2. Temperature indicator light

Displays the set temperature. When the digits are flashing, the appliance has stopped operating. When “°C” flashes, it means that the appliance is preheating.

3. Control knob

1) Press and hold the control knob for 3 seconds to switch the appliance on or off.
2) Press to start or stop the appliance.
3) Turn the control knob to adjust the temperature.

Before first use

To remove any protective substance from the heating elements, switch on the griddle without any food on it for 10 minutes. Ensure that the room is well-ventilated,, as the appliance may emit steam. These vapours are safe and will not adversely affect appliance performance.

  1. Remove all packing materials and any transport protection. Keep all packaging materials out of the reach of children, as there is a risk of suffocation.
  2. Read and remove all stickers from the appliance, except for the rating label, which must remain on the appliance.
  3. Remove all accessories from the packaging and read the manual before use.
  4. Clean the griddle with a damp cloth and let it dry completely.

The griddle plate, drip tray and drip container are dishwasher safe.

Do not immerse the main unit in water.

  1. Inspect the appliance for damage. If there is visible damage, do not use the appliance, contact Cecotec's Technical Support Service instead.
  2. Before using it for the first time, the appliance should be heated for 10 minutes to remove any production residue. Ensure that the room is well ventilated during this time.
  3. Ensure that the drip container, drip tray, and griddle plate are correctly positioned.
  4. Plug the appliance to a power supply.
  5. A short beep will be heard, the control panel will light up and then turn off again. The colour bar will flash, press and hold the button for 3 seconds to switch on the appliance.
  6. The control panel lights up and defaults to "250 °C". Press the button to start the appliance. At the same time, the colour bar will start flashing, which means that the appliance is preheating.

ENGLISH

  1. Wait 15 minutes, then press and hold the button for 3 seconds to switch off the appliance.

The griddle will be very hot during and after operation! Avoid contact with the hot surfaces of the appliance!

Keep children away from the appliance.

Do not remove the griddle from the main unit until it has cooled down completely.

Quick start guide

Due to extremely high temperatures, place the appliance in a well-ventilated area, as it will emit smoke during cooking.

Note: If you have switched on the unit but have not entered any settings for more than 2 minutes, the control panel will switch off. The appliance must then be switched on again to enter the settings.

  1. Plug the appliance into a compatible GFCI-protected power socket. Once plugged in, you will hear a short beep, and the control panel will light up and then turn off again. The colour bar will flash.

  2. Place the drip tray, drip container and griddle plate in the appliance.

Make sure that the oil outlet hole of the tray is aligned with the oil pan.

  1. Press and hold the button for 3 seconds to turn the unit on and the control panel will default to "250 °C".

  2. Adjusting the temperature:

Turn the knob to adjust the heating element temperature.

  1. Press the button to start the appliance. At the same time, "C" will start flashing, which means that the appliance is preheating. It will take approximately 11 minutes for the appliance to reach the maximum temperature of 250°C .

  2. When the preheating process is finished, a beep will sound three times and "°C" will stop flashing. Now you can place the food on the griddle.

  3. If you need to pause the appliance, press the button and the digits will flash, and the appliance will stop heating. You can press the button again to restart the appliance.

  4. Switching off the appliance:

Press and hold the button for 3 seconds to switch off the appliance.

ATTENTION:

- If the control panel is not used for more than 2 minutes, the control panel will be turned off when the control panel is on, but the unit is not in operation.

- If the control panel is not used for more than 2 hours when the unit is in operation, the unit will shut down.

- Make sure the oil pan and oil pan are in place during cooking. - Do not remove the plate from the griddle unless it has cooled completely.

4. CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

WARNING: Always unplug the appliance and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.

  1. Clean the inside and outside of the appliance with a damp sponge, cloth or nylon scouring pad and mild detergent.
  2. To clean the heating unit of the appliance, use a damp cloth with soap, then wipe with a clean, damp cloth and dry thoroughly.
  3. To clean the oil pan and oil tray, remove them from the main unit and wash them with soapy water.
  4. To clean the griddle plate, remove it from the main unit and clean it with soapy water. If there is food residue or grease stuck to the griddle plate, use a scraper or stainless steel sponges to clean it.
  5. Do not worry if the griddle plate changes colour. This is completely normal due to the high temperatures and does not affect the structure or use.

ATTENTION:

- Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid. Do not wash the main unit in the dishwasher.

5. TROUBLESHOOTING

  1. The appliance does not switch on

  2. Ensure that the plug is securely connected to the power socket.

  3. Plug the power cable into another power socket or a separate socket.
  4. Reset the circuit breaker if necessary.

  5. The griddle smokes

- Set a lower temperature and use oils with high smoke points instead of olive oil and butter.
