1. Put the appliance in a dry place. Make
sure that the work area in front of the appliance is obstacle free and is wide enough for the food bags. Plug it in and press the "ON/OFF" switch (K); the green light will come on.
2. Make sure that the bag you want to use
is at least 8 cm (3.1 in.) longer than the food. If you want to reuse the bag, you must take into account that you will need 2 cm more (0.8 in.) each time you want to reuse it.
3. Raise the cover (F) and place the food
inside the bag, taking care not to cause wrinkles or tension on the surface. Remove the liquids or the residue from the food inside the bag which is about to be sealed. Put the bag with its contents in front of the machine positioning it inside the vacuum chamber (I) (Figure 6).
4. Lower the cover (F) completely and
press it down for a few seconds (Figure 7). The yellow light (C) flashes whilst the unit is working. The vacuum cycle is now in progress. During the sealing phase, the red light (E) will also flash. When the bag has been sealed the two lights will go out. Now press the vacuum button (A) and let air enter the pneumatic circuit (Figure 8). Raise the cover and remove the bag with the end sealed.
5. If you need to interrupt the vacuum

- Extreme ambient conditions (e.g. 35°C (95°F) and / or 10% extra voltage If the thermal protection system is activated, wait 30 minutes until the appliance has cooled before starting again allowing the protection system to be re-established.
4. OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
Adjustment Before using it for the first time, make sure that the vacuum chamber and the appliance parts which come into contact with the food are clean. Follow the cleaning instructions
interior.qxd 6/2/06 19:34 Página 12 correctly) first press the "Stop" button (B) and then the vacuum button (A).
6. Check the appearance of the sealed
bag; it should have a tape along the sealing and no wrinkles; if not, the sealing is possibly not complete. To dismantle the chamber see "How to dismantle the vacuum chamber"

- Make sure that the bag does not have any holes. If the food to be sealed has sharp edges, first cover it with serviettes or kitchen paper. submerge the bag in water and squeeze it. Bubbles will indicate that there is a leak. Seal it again or use another bag The bags have not sealed correctly
- The cause could be the sealing bar overheating or the bag has melted. Open the cover and let the sealing bar cool for several minutes.
7. DURATION OF VACUUM PACKED
FOOD Vacuum packing processes prolong the life of food by eliminating most of the air in the sealed receptacle, thereby reducing oxidation which affects the nutritional value, their flavour and above all the quality. Expelling air also inhibits proliferation of micro-organisms Below is a list of the storage times for vacuum packed foods. These times are just a guideline and can vary depending on how well the food is cooked and its original quality. The bag did not maintain the vacuum after being sealed
- This can be caused by a leak due to wrinkles, crumbs, fat or liquid. Open the bag, clean the upper part and remove any foreign matter from the sealing bar before trying to seal it again. 8. INFORMATION FOR THE CORRECT
DISPOSAL OF ELECTRICAL AND
ELECTRONIC APPLIANCES At the end of its working life, the product must not be disposed of as urban waste. It must be taken to a special local authority differentiated waste collection centre or to a dealer providing this service. Disposing of a household appliance separately avoids possible negative consequences for the environment and health deriving from inappropriate disposal and enables the constituent materials to be recovered to obtain significant savings in energy and resources. To remind you that you must collaborate with a selective collection scheme, the symbol shown appears on the product warning you not to dispose of it in traditional refuse containers. For further information, contact your local authority or the shop where you bought the product.
