GENERAL WARNINGS FOR THE SAFETY OF POWER TOOLS

Warning! Read all safety warnings, illustrations and specifications provided with this power tool. Failure to do so may result in electric shock, fire or serious injury.

Keep all warnings and instructions for future reference.

The term "power tool" used in warnings applies to all tools driven by power both wired and wireless.

Workplace safety

Keep the workplace well-lit and clean. Disorder and poor lighting can be causes of accidents.

Do not work with power tools in an environment with an increased risk of explosion, containing flammable liquids, gases or vapors. Power tools generate sparks that can ignite dust or fumes.

EN

Children and third persons should not be allowed to enter the workplace. Loss of concentration can result in loss of control.

Electrical safety

The plug of the electric cable must match the power socket. You must not modify the plug in any way. Do not use any plug adapters with earthed power tools. An unmodified plug that fits the outlet reduces the risk of electric shock.

Avoid contact with earthed surfaces such as pipes, radiators and coolers. Grounding the body increases the risk of electric shock. Do not expose power tools to contact with atmospheric precipitation or moisture. Water and moisture that gets inside the power tool increases the risk of electric shock.

Do not overload the power cable. Do not use the power cord to carry, pull or unplug the power plug from the power outlet. Avoid contact of the power cable with heat, oils, sharp edges and moving parts. Damage or entanglement of the power cord increases the risk of electric shock.

In the case of working outside closed rooms, use extension cords intended for work outside closed rooms. The use of an extension cord adapted for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.

When using a power tool in a humid environment is unavoidable as a protection against supply voltage use a residual current device (RCD). The use of RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

Personal safety

Stay alert, pay attention to what you do and keep common sense while working with the power tool. Do not use a power tool when you are tired or under the influence of alcohol or medication. Even a moment of inattention while working can lead to serious personal injury.

ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS

The tool is designed only for grinding concrete with diamond blades. Read and view all warnings, instructions, figures,

EN

and specifications supplied with the power tool. Failure to follow all of the instructions provided below may result in electrocution, fire and/or serious injury.

Do not convert this tool to make it fit for a job for which it has not been designed and specified by the manufacturer. Such conversion will result in loss of control and cause serious injuries.

It is prohibited to use the tool as a corundum disc grinder, wire brush grinder, cutter, polisher or in a manner other than the one described in the manual. Performing other works for which the tool is not intended may pose a risk and result in injuries.

Do not use accessories that have not been designed or intended for the work with the tool by the manufacturer. The fact that the accessories can be installed on the tool does not ensure safe operation.

The maximum rotational speed of the accessories must be equal to or greater than the maximum rotational speed of the tool. Accessories with a lower rotational speed than the tool speed can disintegrate into fragments during operation.

The outer diameter and thickness of accessories must be within the size range specified for the tool. It is not possible to properly guard or operate improperly sized accessories.

The size of the fixing hole of wheels, discs, flanges, and other accessories must match the size of the tool spindle. Accessories with a fixing hole size not suitable for the tool spindle size will start to vibrate during operation, which may result in the loss of control of the tool.

Do not use damaged accessories. Before each use, examine the condition of the accessories for possible splinters, cracks, abrasions and excessive wear. If any accessories are dropped, check them for damages or install new and undamaged accessories. After checking and installing the accessories, make sure you and all bystanders stand outside the rotation plane of the accessories, then turn on the tool for one minute at a maximum rotational speed. Damaged accessories will disintegrate during the test.

Wear personal protective equipment. Use face shields, goggles, or safety goggles, depending on the application. If required, use dust masks, hearing protection, safety gloves, and aprons to protect against small pieces of accessories or materials generated during work. The eye protection must allow for stopping any flying debris generated during work. The dust mask must be capable of filtering dust generated during work. Extended exposure to noise can result in hearing loss.

Ensure all bystanders keep a safe distance from the work area. Persons entering the work area must wear personal protective equipment. Debris or pieces of damaged accessories which are generated during work can be thrown out of the immediate vicinity of the work area.

When carrying out work during which the disc may come into contact with a live concealed electrical cable or power cord, hold the grinder by the insulated handles only. When the disc gets in contact with a live wire, it may cause the metal parts of the tool to become live, which may lead to electrocution of the tool operator.

Keep the power cord away from the rotating tool parts. If you lose control of the tool, the power cord can be cut or caught, and your hand or arm can be drawn into the rotating parts of the machine.

Never put away the tool until the rotating parts have come to a complete standstill. The rotating parts can "catch" the surface and pull the tool out of the operator's control.

Do not turn on the tool while carrying it around. Inadvertent contact with rotating parts can cause your clothes to be caught and drawn in by the tool, which can result in contact with the operator's body.

Clean the tool's ventilation openings regularly. The motor fan draws dust and particles generated during operation inside the tool. Excessive accumulation of metal particles contained in the dust increases the risk of electrocution.

Do not use the tool near flammable materials. Sparks generated during operation may cause a fire.

Do not use accessories that require liquid cooling. Water or coolant may lead to electrocution.

The thread size of the accessories must match the thread of the grinder spindle. For flange-mounted accessories, the size of the accessories' fixing hole must match the size of the fixing flange. Accessories which do not fit into the power tool mount will cause imbalance, excessive vibration and may result in loss of control.

The kickback of the tool towards the operator is a sudden reaction to a blocked or jammed rotating disc, polishing belt, brush or other accessory. Blocking or jamming causes a rotating accessory to stop suddenly, which results in the power tool rotating in the opposite direction to the accessory rotation.

For example, if the disc is blocked or jammed by the workpiece, the edge of the disc that enters the jamming point may penetrate into the surface of the material causing the disc to come out or be ejected.

The disc can also be ejected towards or away from the operator, depending on the direction of the grinding wheel movement at the jamming point. Abrasive discs may also break in these conditions.

The tool kickback towards the operator is a result of misuse or failure to follow the guidelines in the instructions manual. This phenomenon can be avoided by following the instructions below.

Use a firm grip on the tool and the correct body posture and hands position to withstand the forces generated by the kickback. Always use an additional handle, if supplied with the tool, to ensure maximum control during the kickback or any unexpected rotation during the tool start. The operator will be able to control the tool rotation or the kickback if appropriate precautions are taken.

Keep your hands away from rotating tool parts. The rotating parts can come into contact with your hands during kickback.

Do not stand in the area where the tool may move during the kickback. The kickback will direct the tool in the opposite direc

EN

tion to the direction of the abrasive disc rotation at the jamming point.

Pay special attention when working near corners, sharp edges, etc. Prevent the abrasive disc from runout and being jammed. When machining corners or edges, there is an increased risk of the abrasive disc jamming, leading to a loss of control or tool kickback.

Do not use discs with a cutting chain for wood processing, segmented diamond discs with circumferential spacing between segments greater than 10mm or discs with teeth. Such discs cause frequent kickbacks and loss of control of the tool.

Use only blades intended for work with a chosen tool and guards designed for a given type of disc. The discs for which the tool is not designed cannot be properly guarded and are not safe.

The convex disc must be mounted in such a way that the grinding surface does not protrude beyond the plane of the protective flange of the guard. An incorrectly mounted disc that protrudes above the guard poses a risk to safety during operation.

The guard must be securely attached to the tool and positioned for maximum safety so that the smallest possible area of the disc is exposed towards the operator. This guard helps to protect the operator from broken disc fragments and prevents accidental contact with the disc.

The disc must be used as intended. For example, do not grind with a cutting disc. Abrasive discs for cutting are designed for circumferential load, lateral forces applied to such a disc may cause it to disintegrate.

Always use undamaged fixing discs, which are of the correct size adapted to the abrasive disc. The correct fixing discs for the abrasive discs reduce the possibility of damage to the abrasive discs. The fixing discs for cutting discs can be different from the fixiing discs for abrasive discs.

Do not use worn abrasive discs from larger tools. A larger diameter grinding wheel is not suited for a higher rotational speed of smaller tools and may break.

If you use dual-purpose discs, always use a guard appropriate for the type of work. The use of the wrong guard may lead to the failure to provide the desired degree of protection, which can lead to serious injury.

EQUIPMENT INSTALLATION

CAUTION! When mounting and adjusting the components, pull out the power cord plug to disconnect the tool from the power supply.

Installation of the abrasive disc guard

A guard is supplied with the grinder to ensure proper protection only when grinding with diamond blades. To do this, place the disc guard on the cylindrical part of the body around the spindle and use a screw or clamp to fix the guard so that it is attached straight, firmly and securely. The disc guard should be positioned as shown in figure (II). Never operate the grinder without the disc guard installed correctly!

Installation/removal of auxiliary handle

Mount the handle by screwing it securely to the tool head using the fixing screw (III). During operation, check that the fixing screws on the handle have not come loose due to vibrations. Tighten if necessary. It is recommended that the dominant hand always rests on the main handle and the other hand rests on the additional handle. This will ensure stable and safe handling during operation, which will reduce the risk of injury and make it easier to prevent the causes and effects of kickback towards the operator. Removal of the auxiliary handle is done in reverse to assembly.

HANDLING OF THE GRINDING DISCS

ATTENTION! Install the abrasive discs when the supply voltage is disconnected. Unplug the power cord of the grinder from the socket!

Installation of the grinding disc

The disc is mounted on the spindle by means of fixing flanges. Place the inner fixing flange on the spindle so that the cut-outs in the upper surface of the flange fit the spindle tab (IV).

Attach the disc to the inner fixing flange so that the disc opening fits into the convex central part of the inner fixing flange, then screw the outer fixing disc (IV) onto the spindle. The maximum thickness of the grinding disc must not exceed 3.2mm (V). Lock the disc with a V-spanner, then tighten the lower mounting flange with a socket spanner (IV). The ends of the V-spanner should be placed in the vents of the disc, thus blocking its rotation. The V-spanner must be removed before starting work.

Removal of the grinding disc

Turn off the grinder and pull the plug out of the power outlet. Lock the disc with a V-spanner, unscrew the lower mounting flange with a socket spanner and then remove the grinding disc from the spindle. Clean the spindle and the fixing flanges of dust and other contaminants generated during operation.

EN

Connecting the dust extraction

The tool should also be connected to an external vacuum system for removing dust, e.g. an industrial vacuum cleaner. The hose for this connection must be purchased separately.

CAUTION! Domestic vacuum cleaners are not suitable for the extraction of grinding dust. Do not use domestic vacuum cleaners to extract grinding dust.

Removing and mounting the guard part

The grinder has a possibility of removing the side part of the guard. To do this, slide out the section of the cover to be removed so that all the retaining tabs come off. This allows for more accurate grinding of areas with difficult access, such as the floor against the wall. Removal and mounting of the guard part may only be carried out with the disc and tool completely stopped and disconnected from the power supply. In order to reassemble a section of the cover, all locking clips must be inserted into the holes located in the cover.

Warning! The guard should always be complete during normal surface grinding. A section of the guard can only be removed when grinding areas that cannot be ground with the complete guard.

CAUTION! When mounting and adjusting the components, pull out the power cord plug to disconnect the tool from the power supply.

Stand mounting

Mount the base with castors to the tool holder using M8x20 mm bolts and washers as shown in figure (X). In the next step, mount the first part of the stand column to the tool holder using M6x16 mm bolts and M6 washers and nuts as shown in figure (XI). Then slide the second part of the stand column into the first. Lock the extendable part of the stand column with the adjustment lock knob (XII). The work handle must be fitted to the end of the stand column extension. To do this, use the work handle mount, M6x16 mm bolts and M6 nuts as shown in fi gure (XIV).

Mounting the grinder to the stand

CAUTION! The auxiliary handle must be removed before the tool can be fitted to the chuck.

As a first step, place the tool in the holder so that the power cable is above the stand base (XV). Secure the tool to the chuck with M8x16 mm screws by screwing them into the side holes of the grinder face and the top hole of the grinder face (XVI). Ensure that the tool is fixed firmly and securely in the chuck.

Stand height adjustment

The height of the stand column should be adjusted so that it is possible to work comfortably in a standing position. To adjust the height of the stand, loosen the adjustment lock knob and then pull it back so that the height can be adjusted between the movement stops (XIII). When the knob is released, the position of the stand column extension should lock into the movement stop. Tighten the lock knob to prevent accidental change of position during operation.

Work handle angle adjustment

To adjust the angle of the work handle, loosen the handle mounting screws until the handle position can be changed. Adjust the desired angle of the handle and then tighten the fixing screws. Ensure that the handle is firmly and securely attached and does not change its position during operation.

The height and angle of the handle should be matched to the height of the grinder operator. When guiding a grinder mounted to a chuck, the operator should be in an upright position and hands bent at the elbows. If you experience symptoms such as back and/or limb pain, numbness while working with a stand-mounted grinder, you should change the position of the handle to make the work more ergonomic.

Power supply panel

The grinder stand is equipped with a power supply panel that allows it to be switched off from the working position, as well as the connection of an extension cord to make work easier when grinding larger areas.

TOOL OPERATION

CAUTION! All the assembly steps described above must be carried out before beginning operation.

Connecting to the power supply

When preparing for operation and during operation, pay attention to the power cord. Protect the power cord from water, moisture, oils, heat sources and sharp objects. Lay the cord so that it does not come within the reach of the tool's disc. Cutting the cord

EN

may result in electric shock and serious injury or death. Make sure that you do not become entangled in the cord. This can lead to a fall and serious injury.

Do not overload the power cord, and do not cause any of the cord's section to become tensioned. Do not pull the tool by the cord when moving. Always disconnect the power cord plug from the socket by pulling by the plug and socket housing, never pull by the cord.

The power panel on the stand column was only fitted with a short power cable and extension cables are required. The power supply cord should have a single socket matching the tool's plug. It is forbidden to modify the plug or socket to make them fit. The electrical parameters of the power supply cord should correspond to the electrical parameters of the tool, listed on the rating plate. It should be noted that the power cord's cross-section depends on the length of the cord. Follow the instructions below regarding the power cord cross-section:

  • 1.0mm^2 - cord length not greater than 40 m;
  • 1.5mm^2 - cord length not greater than 60~m
  • 2.5mm^2 - cord length not greater than 100m

Speed control knob

The grider is fitted with a rotary knob (VII), which allows for the adjustment of the motor speed, which translates into disc rotation speed. The higher the number visible on the knob, the higher the rotational speed.

Starting the grinder (manual operation)

CAUTION! Do not start the grinder while leaning the work head against any surface with the grinding sheet being in contact with any object. This may lead to loss of control of the tool and cause serious injury.

  1. Check that the switch is in the "off" position - it is not pushed in. Press the switch with your finger, release the pressure and check if the switch has returned to its initial position.

  2. Insert the plug of the tool's power cord into a mains socket.

  4. Grip the grinder with both hands - one hand on the main handle and the other on the additional handle.

  5. Make sure that the grinding disc does not come into contact with any object.

  6. Press and hold the switch. The grinding disc will begin to rotate. Allow the nominal disc rotation speed to be reached. Hold the grinder in this position for approximately 30 seconds. Should any signs of malfunction be noticed, such as increased vibration or excessive noise, turn the grinder off immediately releasing the pressure on the switch, unplug the power cord from the socket, and search for the cause of the malfunction. It is forbidden to resume operation without rectifying the fault.

  7. If there are no signs of malfunction, adjust the rotary speed and proceed.

  8. The grinder switch is equipped with a lock which allows it to remain in the "on" on position without the need for continuous pressing. This makes extended work easier. The switch can only be locked when the switch is pressed. Slide the lock button (IX) and release the pressure on the switch. The switch will remain pressed.

Unlocking the switch is done by pressing the switch (IX), the lock button will automatically return to the initial position, and after releasing the pressure the switch will automatically change the position to "off".

The switch has a safety device to prevent unintentional start-up in the event of a power failure. If the power supply is lost during operation, the tool with the switch pressed (manually or by means of a lock) will not start automatically after the power supply returns. In this case, release the pressure on the switch so that it returns to the "off" position and then restart the tool according to the procedure described above.

CAUTION! After the tool has been switched off, the grinding disc may still rotate for some time. Wait until the disc has stopped revolving completely before putting the grinder down. It is forbidden to stop the disc by applying it to the workpiece surface, or to slow it down in any other way than by allowing it come to a standstill on its own.

  1. The grinder switch is equipped with a lock which allows it to remain in the "on" on position without the need for continuous pressing. This will make it possible to work with a stand.

  1. Adjust the rotation, then grasp both stand handles with a firm and secure grip and proceed.
  2. To switch off the grinder, turn the power switch located on the power panel to the off - O position. After the tool has been switched off, the grinding disc may still rotate for some time. Wait until the disc rotation has come to a complete stop. It is forbidden to stop the disc by applying it to the workpiece surface, or to slow it down in any other way than by allowing it come to a standstill on its own.
  3. Once the rotation has stopped, release the lock on the grinder switch so that it returns to the off position.
  4. If the grinder is switched off using the switch on the power panel or if the power supply is lost, the tool with the switch pressed in and locked with the locking mechanism will not restart automatically when power is recovered. In this case, in order to restart the grinder, the grinder switch must be pressed, the lock button will automatically return to its initial position, the switch will automatically change to the "off" position when the pressure is released. Run the tool according to the procedure described above.

Grinder operation

Where required, the processed material must be secured, e.g. with vices or clamps, in such a manner that it cannot move during work. The grinder disc rotates at a high speed and, if not properly secured, the material may move uncontrollably during work, which would increase the risk of serious injury.

Wear personal protective equipment, such as eye and hearing protection, a dust mask, safety gloves and appropriate work clothing.

Make sure to carry out all assembly and adjustment steps.

Make sure that the switch is in the "off" position, then plug the power cord into the socket.

Always hold the grinder with both hands gripping its main and additional handle.

Allow the grinder to reach full speed and only then start working the material.

After work, use the power switch to turn the grinder off, unplug it from the mains by pulling the power cord out of the socket, and start maintenance works.

Grinder operation tips

It is forbidden to hold the grinder other than by its handles, in particular it is forbidden to hold the grinder by the top of the housing. Such a grip does not ensure safe operation and the ventilation openings at the top of the enclosure are obscured. This can lead to overheating of the tool.

Do not press the grinder against the processed surface too hard. Excessive pressure can cause the grinder to overheat and damage the processed surface.

Position the grinder so that the entire surface of the grinding disc is used. This will ensure uniform wear of the disc.

Use the diamond blade only for grinding concrete or cement screed. Do not use a diamond blade for grinding wooden surfaces and soft ceramic surfaces, e.g. gypsum plaster or brick. Such use will lead to surface damage and may also cause injuries.

Move the grinder towards and away from you, and gradually to a side. Do not move the grinder in circles.

The grinder should always be used with an external dust extraction system. The grinder cannot be used for wet work, so external dust extraction is the only option to reduce dust in the workplace. An industrial vacuum cleaner can be used as a dust extraction system. Household vacuum cleaners should not be used for this purpose, as they are not designed to handle the dust generated during concrete grinding.

The speed of the tool should be selected according to the surface to be worked on. It is advisable to carry out the test on a less visible piece of substrate or on waste material. Higher speeds provide a smoother surface finish, but also increase the risk of damage to the workpiece by prolonged contact with the disc.

The disc should be guided in a smooth, steady motion over the surface to be ground. This is the only way to ensure even working results.

Take regular breaks during operation to check the condition of the disc. If the disc has been damaged, it should be replaced with a new one that is free of defects.

PRODUCT MAINTENANCE

ATTENTION! Before carrying out any adjustment, servicing or maintenance work, unplug the tool from the mains socket.

In order to thoroughly clean the space between the disc and guard, the disc must be removed. Clean the space between the disc and the guard, the disc itself and the guard of dust and other contaminants with a soft dry cloth, a jet of compressed air at a max. pressure of 0.3MPa , or a soft brush. Do not use sharp objects for cleaning.

EN

Having finished working, inspect the power tool for damage by visually checking the exterior and the body and the handles. Check the power cord with plug and its rubber gland, the action of the electric power switch, the ventilation openings for clogging, the motor brushes for sparking, the noise level of the bearings and the drive transmission, and how the power tool starts and runs. During the warranty period, the user is not allowed to disassemble the power tool or replace any components or parts, as this will void the warranty rights. Any irregularities found during inspection or operation are indicative of a required repair that needs to be done at the service centre. After finishing work, the housing, ventilation openings, switches, auxiliary handle and covers should be cleaned e.g. with an air jet (with a pressure not exceeding 0.3MPa ), paintbrush or dry cloth without the use of chemicals and cleaning agents. Clean the tools and handles with a dry, clean cloth.
