  1. Never remove the device casing.
  2. Never place this device on top of other electrical equipment.

Automatic standby

When playing an audio file from a connected device, the device automatically goes into standby if:

  • You don't press any buttons for 10 minutes;
  • The connected accessory has not transmitted any audio data for 10 minutes.

Operation

Press the POWER button to turn the device ON or OFF.

Volume adjustment

Press the Volume + button to increase the volume and the Volume - button to reduce the volume. Check the screen display, which should confirm the volume adjustment.

Mute function

Press the MUTE button on the remote control. The volume is muted and the icon appears on the LCD screen. Press this button again to cancel the Mute function.

Sleep function timer

  1. Press the SLEEP button on the remote control several times to set the duration of this function to 15/30/45/60/90 minutes. This function is useful for falling asleep to music at night.
  2. If you want to disable sleep mode, press the SLEEP button repeatedly to select OFF. The Sleep mode will then be cancelled.

Setting the time

Press the "Time" button on the remote control and the time will start flashing.

Press ▲/▼ to set the hours number, then press ▶/▼ Enter to confirm. The minutes will start flashing.

Setting the alarm

  1. Press the "Alarm" button on the remote control, then use ▲/▼ to select "Alarm 1 Setup" or "Alarm 2 Setup". Press ▶/Enter to confirm.
  2. Press ▲/▼ to set the alarm time, then press ▶/Enter to confirm.
  3. Press ▲/▼ to set the alarm duration (90, 60, 45, 30, 15 minutes), then press ▶/Enter to confirm.

Alarm repeat (Snooze)

  1. When the alarm sounds, it can be snoozed for approximately 9 minutes by pressing the "▶/Enter / zz" button or by pressing the "SNOOZE" button once on the remote control.
  2. The alarm will automatically sound again after approximately 9 minutes.
  3. To disable this function, press the "POWER" button once.

Use

DAB radio mode

Carefully extend the telescopic aerial.

Press the POWER button to turn on the device, which will automatically switch to DAB mode.

  1. Press the "MODE" button to select DAB Mode (if the device isn't already in DAB mode). If this is the first time the device has been used in DAB mode, it will automatically begin an automatic search for available stations. (If DAB mode has been used previously, the device will automatically select the station you were last listening to)
  2. Hold down the ▶/Enter button to start an automatic search for available stations. During the search, a progress bar will be displayed at the bottom of the screen to indicate how the process is progressing.
  3. Press < / > to view the list of saved stations. The number of the saved station will be displayed at the bottom of the LCD screen (e.g. ☆9).

  1. Press the "Menu" button on the device to access the DAB settings.

DRC (Dynamic Range Control) function

The DRC (Dynamic Range Control) function is a technology used to enhance quiet sounds in a noisy environment.

  1. In DAB mode, press the ▲ or ▼ button to select "DRC". Press the ▶/Enter button to confirm. A "*" will be displayed in the top-right corner of the screen.

"DRC off": The DRC function is disabled, DRC will not be taken into account.

"DRC low": The DRC level is set to half the output level.

"DRC high": The DRC level corresponds exactly to the output level.

In DAB mode, press < or > to display the "System" sub-menu. Press the ▶/Enter button to access the system settings sub-menu.

In the DAB menu, press ▲ or ▼ to select the "Equaliser" sub-menu. Press the ▶/Enter button to confirm. A "*" will be displayed for the selected EQ mode in the top-right corner of the screen.

Language

In DAB mode, press ▲ or ▼ to access the language selection. Press the ▶/Enter button to confirm.

Reset to factory settings

In the DAB menu, press ▲ or ▼ to select the "Factory reset" sub-menu. Press the ▶/Enter button to confirm it. If you want to reset the device to factory settings, press ▲ or ▼ until "YES" is highlighted on the screen, then press.

Your radio will be completely reset. All of the preset stations and station lists will be erased.

Software version

In the DAB menu, press ▲ or ▼ to view the DAB software version. Press "Menu". The display will return to normal.

Preset stations

1. Recalling preset stations

In DAB mode, press the "Preset" button. "Preset Recall" will appear. Then, press ▲ or ▼ to listen to a station previously saved in the memory. Press ▷/Enter to confirm tuning in to this station.

Please note: If you press the "Preset" button without having any stations saved, "Empty preset" will show on the screen.

2. Saving preset stations

You can save your favourite DAB stations in the preset station memory. You can save up to 50 stations in your radio's memory. Preset stations will be saved by your radio in the event of a powercut.

The process for saving and using preset stations is as follows for DAB mode:

In DAB mode, select the required frequency range. Hold down the PRESET button until you reach the station you want, as described above. 3. Press ▲ or ▼ to select the preset number under which you want to save the station. Press ▶/Enter to confirm.

FM radio

Carefully extend the telescopic aerial until fully deployed.

Automatic search for all available radio stations:

In FM radio mode, press and hold the "/Enter" button to start the automatic search function. When the search finds a sufficiently strong radio signal, the station will be automatically saved. When the end of the frequency range is reached, the device will play the first station saved. Press "▲"/ "▼" on the remote control to navigate between and select saved radio stations.

Automatic search for the previous or next radio station:

Press and hold the “Next” button or the “Prev” button for 2 seconds. The radio will carry out a search and will automatically stop when it finds a station with sufficient signal strength.

  1. Press < or > to listen to a radio station. Every time you press the frequency adjustment button, the frequency increases or reduces by 50 kHz.
  2. Once you have found a station that you want to save, press and hold the PRESET button. "Preset store" (Saving preset stations) and the station number will appear on the screen. Press ▲ or▼ to select the station, then press ▷/ENTER to confirm and save the current station.

Bluetooth mode

You need to carry out several steps to connect your mobile phone:

  1. Activate Bluetooth on your mobile phone (refer to the instructions for your phone).
  2. Press the POWER button ⏻ to switch on the device, then press the MODE button multiple times, until the "Bluetooth" symbol appears on the LCD screen. It will then be ready to be paired automatically.
  3. Using your mobile phone, search for the Bluetooth device called "RT850DABBT".
  4. Your phone will detect "RT850DABBT" and will give you the option of pairing with it. Pair with the device using the password "0000" (if required). Once the connection is made, "Connected" will appear on the LCD screen.

Automatic connection to your phone

Pairing is only necessary when you first use the appliance with the phone. Once the device has been paired with the phone, it will connect to the device automatically when it is turned on and when Bluetooth is activated on the phone. The next time you turn on the device, it will automatically connect to the mobile phone it was last connected to.

Press and hold the ▷/ENTER button to disable the Bluetooth function.

Playing from a Bluetooth device

Once the Bluetooth has been paired, press the ▷ button to play. Press the < or > button to switch to the previous or next track. To pause or play the audio output, press the ▷ button again.

Music playback via USB

This device was designed with the latest USB technical innovations. However, given the wide selection of USB storage devices available on the market, we cannot guarantee full compatibility with every peripheral device. For this reason, in rare cases, you may experience issues when trying to play files from USB storage devices. This is not due to a device malfunction.

  1. Press the button multiple times until "USB" appears on the screen.
  2. Connect a USB storage drive directly to the USB port. The screen will briefly display the number of folders and then the total number of tracks. Playback will start automatically after a few seconds.

PLEASE NOTE:

  • Always connect a USB storage drive directly to the USB port to avoid any malfunction.
  • The USB port is not designed for charging external devices.

Additional information

Setting the alarm

  1. Press the "Alarm" button on the remote control, then press ▲/▼ and select "Alarm 1 Setup" or "Alarm 2 Setup". Press ▶/Enter to confirm.
  2. Press ▲/▼ to set the alarm time, then press ▶/Enter to confirm.
  3. Press ▲/▼ to set the alarm duration (90, 60, 45, 30, 15), then press ▶/Enter to confirm.
  4. Press ▲/▼ to set the alarm source (chime melody, USB, FM, DAB), then press ▶/Enter to confirm.
  5. Press ▲/▼ to set the alarm cycle (weekdays, weekend, one-time alarm, daily alarm), then press ▶/Enter to confirm.
  6. Press ▲/▼ to set the alarm duration (90, 60, 45, 30, 15), then press ▶/Enter to confirm.
  7. Press ◀/▶ to adjust the alarm volume, then press ▶/Enter to confirm.
  8. Press ◀/▶ to activate/deactivate the alarm, then press ▶/Enter to save the alarm.
  9. When the alarm sounds, press the Power button to stop it.

Alarm repeat (Snooze)

  1. When the alarm sounds, it can be silenced for a period of approximately 9 minutes by pressing the "►/Enter/" button or by pressing the "SNOOZE" button once on the remote control.
  2. The alarm will automatically sound again after approximately 9 minutes.
  3. To turn off this feature, press "POWER".

  1. Press the "Menu" button on the device to access DAB settings.
  2. Press the ▲ or ▼ buttons to select "Manual tune", then press the ▶/Enter button to access the service menu.
  3. Press ▲ or ▼ to set the desired station. The graph will show the signal strength.
  4. Press MENU to exit the search function.
  5. If no station is found, check that the antenna is fully extended and test reception by performing a new automatic search from another location.

DRC (Dynamic Range Control) function

DRC (or Dynamic Range Control) is a technology used to better hear quiet sounds in noisy environments.

  1. In DAB mode, press the ▲ or ▼ buttons to select "DRC". Press the ▶/Enter button to confirm. An asterisk "*" will appear in the upper right corner of the screen.

"DRC off": DRC function is deactivated, DRC is not taken into account.

  1. Press < or > to listen to a station. Each time you press the adjustment button, the frequency will increase or decrease by 50 kHz.
  2. When you find a station you want to save, press and hold the PRESET button. "Preset store" and the station number will appear on the screen. Press ▲ or ▼ to select the station, then press ▷/ENTER to confirm and save the current station.
  3. Press PRESET to access and listen to saved radio stations.
  4. Press ▲ or ▼ to select a saved station and listen to the radio.
