Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the garment.

Intended use

The TJ 10.8/18.0 heated jacket is intended

– for commercial use in industry and trade,

– to keep the body warm in cold environments,

Safety instructions for heated jackets

If whilst using the garment you suffer the symptoms listed below, take the garment off immediately and consult a doctor. Otherwise there is a risk of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

First signs:

– Any discomfort; excessive sweating; neck pain; nausea; dizziness or drowsiness

Symptoms of heat exhaustion/heat stroke:

- Nausea and vomiting; throbbing headache; dizziness and drowsiness; absence of perspiration; red, hot and dry skin; muscle weakness or seizures; rapid heartbeat; quick, shallow breathing; behaviour changes such as confusion, disorientation or staggering; unconsciousness

■ Do not wear the garment during pregnancy. Ask your doctor whether you can use this heated garment.

■ Do not use the garment if you suffer from conditions which make you susceptible to overheating, or if your body contains a medical implant. Ask your doctor and/or the manufacturer of the medical implant whether you can use this heated garment.

■ Switch the garment's heating off when you are moving in a warm environment. There is a danger of heat stroke.

■ Never use the heated jacket with a wet inside lining.

■ Never wear the heated jacket against bare skin. It is recommended that heating elements do not touch bare skin.

■ Do not use the garment to keep the following persons warm: infants, helpless, sleeping or unconscious persons, or persons with circulatory disorders. The wearer must be able to immediately sense the temperature of the garment and his/her own wellbeing in order to prevent overheating.

■ The garment is not intended for use in hospitals.

■ Protect the garment against heat when the battery is inserted, e.g. also against continuous sunlight, fire, water, and moisture. There is a danger of explosion.

■ Do not stick any needles or other pointed objects into the garment. A damaged heating element or a damaged connector plug cable causes the garment to malfunction and increases the risk of electric shock or fire.

- Do not misuse the connector plug cable for anything other than its intended purpose, e.g. for carrying or pulling the garment or for unplugging the battery. Keep the cable away from oil, sharp objects or moving components. Do not kink the cable. A damaged heating element or a damaged connector plug cable causes the garment to malfunction and increases the risk of electric shock or fire.

■ The garment is not waterproof. Intrusion of water increases the risk of electric shock. If the garment does get wet, immediately unplug the battery and remove it from the battery adapter.

■ Do not fold up a garment which has been heated up, and do not store any objects on top of it. A damaged heating element or a damaged connector plug cable causes the garment to malfunction and increases the risk of electric shock or fire.
■ Carefully observe the care and cleaning instructions of the garment. Insufficient care poses a danger of electric shock or fire.
■ Leave the garment to cool down completely before you store it.

- Remove battery pack and power adapter.

- Install the cover over the power cable.

- Store at dry place.

- Do not crease the appliance by placing items on top of it.

■ Check at regular intervals whether the garment is showing signs of wear or damage. If such signs are present or if the garment has been used improperly, do not use the garment again and return it to the retailer.
■ Have your garment serviced only by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the garment is maintained.

i NOTE

Follow the instructions for use in the adapter operating manual.

Safety instructions for the battery adapter

■ Do not open the battery adapter. This may result in malfunctions and injuries.
■ Use only original batteries (see table "Technical specifications"). The use of other batteries, e.g. imitations, reconditioned batteries or other makes, increases the risk of injury and damage to property by exploding batteries.
■ Check the cables for connecting external consumers (USB) for damage. A damaged cable may cause fires.

i NOTE

Follow the instructions for use in the adapter operating manual.

Safety instructions for handling batteries

■ Do not open the battery. Short-circuiting hazard!
■ Protect the battery against heat, including prolonged sunshine, fire, water and moisture. Explosion hazard!
If the battery is damaged or used improperly, fumes may be emitted. Ensure a supply of fresh air and consult a doctor in the event of any physical complications. The fumes may irritate the respiratory tracts.
■ Liquid may leak out of the battery if the battery is incorrectly used. Avoid contact with such liquid. If contact accidentally occurs, rinse with water. If liquid contacts eyes, seek medical attention. Liquid discharged from the battery may cause irritation or burns.
■ Recharge batteries only with chargers recommended by the manufacturer. A charger that is suitable for one type of battery may create a fire hazard when used with another battery.
■ Pointed objects, such as nails or screwdrivers, or external forces may damage the battery. This may cause an internal short-circuit and the battery to burn, smoke, explode or overheat.

i NOTE

Follow the instructions for charging the battery in the operating instructions for the battery charger.
