How to properly install the ProMax MudDrain 25000 pump?

Place the pump vertically and stably in the water. Use the handle to lower it, never the cable. Ensure the float switch can move freely. For use in wells, attach a rope to the handle.

What to do if the pump does not start?

First check the power supply (socket, fuse). If the pump stops after a few minutes, the overload protection may have tripped: clean the suction inlet and hose, then let it cool down. The protection resets automatically.

Can I use this pump with seawater?

No, the pump is not compatible with salt water. Use it only for clear water, rainwater, chlorinated water, or wastewater with particles up to 40 mm.

How to clean the ProMax MudDrain 25000 pump?

Clean it with clear water and a soft brush or sponge. For stubborn deposits, use Oase PumpClean or household detergents without vinegar or chlorine. Rinse thoroughly afterwards. Perform this cleaning at least twice a year.

What are the switch-on and switch-off heights?

The pump switches on automatically when the water level reaches between 550 and 750 mm, and switches off between 180 and 300 mm, depending on the position of the float switch.

Can I let the pump run dry?

No, dry running causes increased wear. In manual mode, the pump can run dry: stop it as soon as the minimum water level is reached. Preferably use automatic mode with float switch.

How to store the pump in winter?

The device is not frost-resistant. Disassemble it, clean it thoroughly, and store it dry and frost-free. Protect open plugs from moisture. Drain hoses and fittings as much as possible.

What hose diameter to use for optimal flow?

Flow is optimal with a 50 mm diameter hose. Adapt the supplied stepped adapter (G2) to your hose diameter, then secure it with a hose clamp.

What to do if the pump runs but does not discharge or has insufficient flow?

Check that the hose is not kinked or blocked. Clean the suction inlet. Bleed air from the hose. If a non-return valve is installed, ensure it is correctly installed and clean. If the rotor unit is defective, contact Oase service.

How to replace the rotor unit?

Replacing the rotor unit (operating unit) is a task reserved for Oase after-sales service. Do not attempt to do it yourself, contact an approved professional.

WARNING

▶ Disconnect all electrical units in the water from the power supply before reaching into the water. Otherwise there is a risk of injuries or death by electrocution.
This unit can be used by children aged 8 and above and by persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they are supervised or have been instructed on how to use the unit in a safe way and they understand the hazards involved. Do not allow children to play with the unit. Only allow children to carry out cleaning and user maintenance under supervision.

Safety information

Electrical connection

• Only connect the unit if the electrical data of the unit and the power supply match.
• Only plug the unit into a correctly installed outlet. Ensure that the unit is fused for a rated fault current of max. 30 mA by means of a fault current protection device.
• Extension cables and power distributors (e.g. outlet strips) must be suitable for outdoor use (splash-proof).
• Protect open plugs and sockets from moisture.

Safe operation

• Operate the unit only when there are no people in the water.
• Do not use the unit, if electrical lines or the housing are damaged.
• If a power connection cable is damaged, have it replaced immediately by OASE, an authorized customer service or a qualified electrician to prevent electric shock.
• Do not carry or pull the unit by its power cable.
• Route lines so that they are protected from damage and nobody can trip over them.
• Never make technical modifications to the unit.
• Only carry out work on the unit that is described in this manual.
• Only use original spare parts and accessories.
• Should problems occur, please contact the authorized customer service or OASE.

Intended use

Only use the product described in this manual as follows:

• For pumping clear water or rain water.
  • For pumping chlorinated water.
• For pumping dirty water containing particles max. 40 mm in size.
  • For irrigating and watering.
• For transferring water from and draining basins or ponds/pools.
• For pumping the water out of rain barrels or cisterns.
• In compliance with the technical specifications. (→Technical data)

The following restrictions apply to the unit:

• Not suitable for salt water.
• Not suitable for drinking water.
- Do not use for long-term operation (e.g. continuous recirculation of water in a pond).
- Do not use for industrial purposes.
- Do not use in conjunction with chemicals, foodstuff, easily flammable or explosive substances.
- Do not connect to the drinking water supply.

The unit contains cast iron which is subject to a natural corrosion process. This does not impair the function of the unit.

The unit is dust-proof and water-tight down to 7 m.

Never dispose of the unit with normal household waste.

Installation and connection

Connecting the pressure hose

An optimum flow rate is achieved with a 50 mm hose diameter.

How to proceed:

1. Adapt the stepped hose adapter to the hose diameter.
2. Screw the stepped hose adapter onto the connection on the pressure side.
3. Connect the pressure hose to the stepped hose adapter.

— Secure the pressure hose with a hose clip.

Automatic mode

When the water level rises, it lifts the float switch until the switch-on point is reached and the pump switches on.

When the water level drops, the float switch lowers until the switch-off point is reached and the pump switches off.

How to proceed:

- Push the float switch cable into the cable clip.

— The shorter the cable between the float switch and the cable clip, the lower the switch-on point and the higher the switch-off point.

To ensure faultless function, ensure that the length of cable between the float switch and the cable clip is at least 100 mm long.
The minimum residual water height is only reached in manual mode.

Manual mode

The pump remains permanently switched on if the float switch is positioned vertically (cable hanging down).

NOTE

The pump can run dry in manual mode. Running the pump dry increases wear.

▶ Switch off the pump when the minimum water level is reached.

Installing the pump

• Install the pump in a vertical and stable position in the water.
- If it needs to be lowered into a shaft, fasten a rope to the handle. Do not carry it by the power connection cable.
- Install the pump so that it does not take in dirt particles with a size >40 mm, which would block the intake. Install the pump in a raised position if necessary.
- Ensure that the float switch can always move freely.

Operation

WARNING

Serious injury or death from electric shock is possible.

▶ Only operate the pump if no persons are in the water.
▶ Disconnect all electrical devices in the water from the power supply before reaching into the water.

NOTE

The pump is not suitable for long-term operation. Long-term operation will reduce the pump service life accordingly.

Switching on the unit

- Insert the power plug into the outlet.

— The pump is ready for operation.
— The pump will start up as soon as the water level reaches the activation height.

Switching off the unit

- Disconnect the power plug.

- When the pump is switched off, residual water in the hose may flow back and out of the pump intake.

i Rinse the pump with clear water after use.

Maintenance and cleaning

NOTE

Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or chemical solutions. These agents can damage the housing, impair the function of the device and harm animals, plants and the environment.

▶ Clean the unit with clean water and a soft brush or sponge wherever possible. Remove stubborn dirt with the aid of the recommended cleaning agents.

i Clean the unit as required, but at least twice a year.

• Recommended cleaning agent for removing stubborn limescale deposits:
  — Pump cleaning agent PumpClean from OASE.
  — Vinegar- and chlorine-free household cleaning agent.
  • After cleaning, thoroughly rinse all parts in clean water.

Storage/overwintering

The unit is not frost-proof and has to be removed and put into storage if freezing temperatures are expected.

How to correctly store the unit:

• Thoroughly clean the unit and replace damaged components.
• Store the unit in a dry and frost-free place.
• Protect open plug connections from moisture and dirt.
  • Empty hoses and connections as much as possible
