How to install the gas cartridge on the Camp Bistro 3?

Make sure the ignition button is in the ● (stop) position and the lever is on UNLOCK. Place the cartridge in the compartment with the slot facing up, engage the guide, then lock the lever onto LOCK. Close the lid.

Can I use cartridges other than Campingaz?

No, use exclusively Campingaz CP250 or CP250 SP cartridges. Using other cartridges can be dangerous and voids the warranty.

Where can I use this stove?

Only outdoors, away from flammable materials. Never use it in a tent, caravan, car, or any confined space without ventilation.

What to do if you smell gas before opening the valve?

Immediately take the stove outside to a ventilated area, away from any ignition source. Do not look for leaks with a flame; use a leak detection liquid.

How to light the burner?

Turn the ignition knob counterclockwise until the click (✗) produces a spark. If ignition does not occur after 3 attempts, check the cartridge and repeat.

How to adjust the flame?

Gently turn the ignition knob between the MIN and MAX positions to adjust the flame size. Make sure the flames do not exceed the bottom of the pan.

How to change the cartridge?

Let the stove cool down. Turn the knob to ●, place the lever on UNLOCK, open the compartment and remove the cartridge. Check the seal before installing a new one.

What do the safety devices mean?

Two safety devices cut off the gas in case of overpressure. The first cuts the flow, the second disconnects the cartridge. After activation, let it cool down and reset according to the manual (section E).

How to clean the burner?

After cooling, clean the burner holes with a metal brush. Use hot water for the rest of the stove, then dry thoroughly with a soft cloth.

How to store the stove after use?

Always remove the cartridge. Put the lever on UNLOCK. Store in a cool, dry, well-ventilated place, out of reach of children, never in a basement.

A - IMPORTANT: YOU ARE USING GAS, BE VERY CAREFUL!

The purpose of these instructions is to enable you to use your stove Campingaz® CAMP'BISTRO 3 / CAMP'BISTRO ELITE / CAMP'BISTRO PLUS correctly and safely.

Please read them carefully to familiarise yourself with the stove prior to assembling the cartridge. Keep these instructions in a safe place so that you can refer to them when needed.

Please observe these instructions as well as the safety measures printed on the Campingaz® CP250/ CP250 SP cartridges. Failure to observe these instructions may result in the user and people in the immediate vicinity being put at risk.

The stove must be used exclusively with Campingaz® CP250/ CP250 SP cartridges. Using other gas containers may be dangerous.

The Société Application Des Gaz accepts no responsibility when cartridges of any other brand are used.

The stove should only be used outside premises and kept away from inflammable materials.

It is imperative NOT to use the stove in caravans, cars, tents, huts, sheds or any small enclosed areas.

The stove consumes fuel through combustion or consumption of oxygen and gives off certain substances and gas, which could be dangerous such as carbon monoxide.

Carbon monoxide is an odorless, clear gas that can cause flu-like symptoms, sickness, illness, and possibly death if produced inside aforesaid enclosed areas through use of the stove without proper ventilation.

The stove should not be used while sleeping or left unattended.

Do not use a stove which leaks, functions incorrectly or is damaged. Return it to your retailer who will inform you of your nearest after-sales service center. Never modify the stove or use it for purposes for which it is not intended.

If the cartridge is automatically ejected from the regulator, DO NOT CONNECT THE CARTRIDGE AGAIN, let the stove cool down completely before any use.

Except specific Campingaz ^® accessories developed for this stove, do not use : containers smaller than 12cm or larger than 26cm in diameter; vessels with concave or convex bottoms; griddles, planchas or stones (Fig. 12).

The pan support has higher edges (8) on the cartridge side. Those edges block cooking utensils getting above of the cartridge compartment. Never position a cooking utensil above those higher pan support edges.

Always remove the gas cartridge from the stove during storage or transportation.

This product is designed for a normal private use, not intended for commercial purposes.

- Remove the stove from its packaging.

Installing a CAMPINGAZ® cartridge CP250/ CP250 SP

(When the existing cartridge is empty, read section D: "Changing the cartridge")

To install or remove a cartridge, always work in a well-ventilated area, preferably outside and never in the presence of a flame, heat source or spark (lit cigarette, electrical equipment, etc.) at a good distance from other people and flammable material.

AS CAMPINGAZ® CP250/ CP250 SP CARTRIDGES HAVE VALVES, EVEN IF THEY ARE NOT EMPTY, THEY MAY BE REMOVED FROM THIS STOVE TO MAKE IT EASIER TO TRANSPORT, AND THEY MAY BE FITTED TO OTHER EQUIPMENT FROM THE CAMPINGAZ® CP250/ CP250 SP RANGE WHICH ARE DESIGNED TO OPERATE EXCLUSIVELY WITH THESE CARTRIDGES.

• Open the cartridge cover (3) (Fig. 2).
• Check that the ignition button (1) is set to position “●” by turning it clockwise and that the lever (2) is set to UNLOCK (Fig. 3).
  Comment: the gas cartridge can only be locked if the ignition button is in position “●”.
• Check that the seals between the stove and the gas container are in place and in good condition before connecting the gas container (see Fig. 4). Do not use this stove if the seal is missing or damaged. Return it to your dealer.
• Install the cartridge in its housing, slot "F" facing upwards, and engage the cartridge guide "G" firmly into the slot (Fig. 5).
• Lock the cartridge by moving the lever (2) to the LOCK position (Fig. 6). Close the cartridge compartment cover (3).
  The stove is ready for use.

CAUTION: Make sure the cartridge slot "F" is pointing upward and inserted in the cartridge guide "G".

Incorrect positioning of the gas cartridge (9) will cause the regulator to break and/or gas leakage, producing a hissing sound and gas smell.

In case of leakage (gas smell before opening the valve), put immediately the stove outside, in a well-ventilated area, without inflammation source, where it will be possible to locate and stop the leak. If you wish to check the tightness of the stove, do it outside. Do not try to locate a leak with a flame, use gas leak detection liquid.

C - USE

Additional instructions:

In case of burn back (ignition under the burner cap) switch the product off, allow it to cool down (approximately five minutes), then reignite the appliance. If the problem of burn back persists, then please contact your local Campingaz® representative.

Do not use your stove at a distance closer than 20 cm to a wall or any other object, nor closer than 1 meter to a ceiling.

WARNING: Accessible parts may be very hot. Keep young children away.

Never touch the pan support (4) or the burner (5) during or just after using the stove.

Do not obstruct the ventilation holes (7) on the rear panel and the cartridge compartment cover (3).

Position the stove on a stable, horizontal surface and do not move when in use.

Wait until the stove has completely cooled down before handling and putting it away.

Lighting the burner

The stove is fitted with a piezo-electric lighter connected to an ignition electrode (6).

- Turn the control knob (1) anti-clockwise until you hear a click (4) indicating a spark (Fig. 7). If the stove does not light, turn the control knob to position “●” (Fig. 9) and start the operation again.

- If the stove still does not light after three attempts, turn the control knob to position “●” and check that the cartridge contains gas (sound of liquid sloshing when shaken) before starting the previous steps again. (If the cartridge is empty, refer to section D - Changing the cartridge).

Cooking

Position the pan on the arms centred over the burner and adjust the gas flow so that the flames do not burn higher than the pan.

The size of the flame can be regulated by turning the ignition knob (1) between the full flow position (MAX) and minimum flow position (MIN) (Fig. 8).

Extinguishing

Turn the ignition knob (1) clockwise to “●” position (Fig. 9).

D - CHANGING THE CARTRIDGE

The cartridge may be removed even if it is not empty.

Once your stove has fully cooled:

• Check that the gas inlet is fully closed by turning the control knob (1) clockwise to the “●” position (Fig. 9) and that the burner (5) is extinguished.
• Disconnect the cartridge by putting the lever (2) in the "UNLOCK" position (Fig. 10).
• Open the cartridge compartment (3) and remove the cartridge by lifting it from behind.
• Never throw away a cartridge which is not completely empty, (check there is no liquid in the cartridge by shaking it).
• Make sure that no food has dropped into and thus obstructs the stove regulator internal housing (Fig. 4) before installing a new cartridge.
• Check that the seal is present and in good condition (Fig. 4)
• Put in a new cartridge by following the instructions in section "B - PREPARATION FOR OPERATION - Installing a CAMPINGAZ® cartridge CP250/ CP250 SP".

Caution: If the cartridge is replaced while the stove is in use, do not touch the hot surfaces of the stove (burner, saucepan holder, plate...).

Caution: Gas residue may remain in the stove after the stove has been turned off. For your safety, with the cartridge lever (2) in "UNLOCK" position, turn ignition knob (1) to ( ) position to burn off any remaining fuel.

E - SAFETY DEVICE

Do not use a stove which is leaking, damaged, or which does not operate properly. If the gas pressure in the cartridge is too high, two built-in devices stop the gas flow. The first safety device cuts off the gas passage while the cartridge remains connected. The second safety device prevents a potential failure of the first one (for example, the system could get seized within time). This second safety disconnects the cartridge and the lever (2) returns to "UNLOCK". If any safety is activated, you must let the cartridge cool down before reusing it or use a new cartridge following the instructions in Section "D - CHANGING THE CARTRIDGE". Moreover, the safety needs to be reset following the instructions below. The stove will not operate until the gas pressure of the cartridge returns back to the normal.

HOW TO RESET SAFETY DEVICE

1^st safety (gas passage cut off):

- Turn the ignition knob (1) to the “●” position and raise cartridge lever (2) up to the “UNLOCK” position (Fig. 10).

- Remove the gas cartridge.

- Press the red lever near the regulator (Fig. 11).

- Turn the ignition knob to the ( ) position to release and burn excess gas in the gas cock.

- After 5 minutes, turn the ignition knob to the “●” position.

2^nd safety (cartridge disconnection)

• Turn the ignition knob (1) to the "●" position (Fig. 10).
• Remove the gas cartridge.
• Turn the ignition knob to the (4) position to release and burn excess gas in the gas cock.
• After 5 minutes, turn the ignition knob to the “●” position.
• Push the cartridge lever down to "LOCK" position (Fig. 6).
• Push the cartridge lever up to "UNLOCK" position (Fig. 10).

If the temperature in the cartridge is high initially, fuel will not emerge even though the cartridge is installed in the stove. This is due to the operation of the safety device. It is not out of order.

F - CLEANING AND STORAGE

Once your stove has fully cooled:

1 - Cleaning

Main stove

• Clean the stove having removed the cartridge.
• Clean the pan support (4) and the cartridge exterior and cover (3) with warm water, then dry with a cloth.

Burner (5)

A dirty burner will clog the holes of the flame.

- Clean the flame holes of burner head with a metal brush.

Piezo ignition electrode (6)

If the electrode gets wet, the stove will not light. Make sure any water is removed, and dry with a cloth.

Stainless Steel:

Stainless steel is known for its ability to resist corrosion and rust. However, dirt, dust, grime and non-appropriate cleaners put stainless steel at risk for corrosion and rust. Stainless steel responds well to cleaning as long as certain rules are followed

DO :

- Read carefully the instructions on the cleaning products and make sure it's appropriate for stainless steel. Ideally, use specific stainless steel cleaners.

Pay special attention to some of them which can be inappropriate for paints, these look like aluminium or stainless steel and can erase markings.

• Use a safe, non-abrasive sponge. Brush in the direction of the grain of the metal.
• Rinse thoroughly.
  • Always dry the surface with a soft towel or cloth. A microfibre towel is preferable.

DON'T :

• Never leave wet sponges, cloths, or cleaning pads on the Stainless steel surface.
• Never leave solutions of chlorine bleach and water on your Stainless steel surface. Chlorides, which are found in most soaps, detergents, bleaches, and cleansers, are very aggressive to stainless steel.
• Never use oven cleaners that contain caustic chemicals.
• Do not use paper towel or scratch-sponges.

2 - Storage and transportation

• Check that the lever (2) is in the UNLOCK position (Fig. 10).
• Always remove the gas cartridge from the stove during storage or transportation.
• Store the stove and the cartridge in a cool, dry and well-ventilated area, out of reach of children. Never store in a basement or cellar.
