Frequently Asked Questions - Max Power RY36BC60A RYOBI

What types of batteries can I charge with this charger?
This charger is designed for 36 V lithium-ion batteries from the following BPL and RY36B series: BPL3615, BPL3620D, BPL3626D, BPL3626D2, BPL3640D, BPL3640D2, BPL3650D, BPL3650D2, RY36B60A, RY36B90A, RY36B12A. Do not charge other types of batteries.
How do I interpret the LED indicators on the charger?
Solid red indicates the charger is powered but no battery. Solid orange means battery too hot or too cold. Solid green indicates charging complete. Flashing red with orange signals a battery or charger fault. Refer to the full table in the manual.
Can I use this charger outdoors?
No, this charger is designed for indoor use only, in a dry environment. Do not expose it to rain or moisture.
What should I do if the battery is too hot to charge?
Let the battery cool for about 30 minutes before recharging. The orange light turns on, and the charger automatically switches to fast charging mode once the temperature returns to normal.
How do I clean the charger?
Always unplug the charger before cleaning. Use a slightly damp soft cloth with a mild detergent. Never use solvents (gasoline, kerosene, etc.) as they may damage the plastic.
The charger is not working, what should I check?
Check that the mains socket is working and the power cord is not damaged. Make sure the battery is properly inserted. If the LED flashes red/orange, try a different battery; if the problem persists, the charger is likely defective.
Can I charge a non-rechargeable battery?
No, absolutely not. This charger is intended only for rechargeable lithium-ion batteries specified in the manual. Charging primary batteries may cause fire or explosion.
What is the typical lifespan of the charger?
With proper maintenance, the charger can last several years. Follow the temperature and humidity guidelines, and avoid shocks. In case of failure, contact an authorized service center.
Can I leave the battery charging overnight?
Yes, once fully charged, the LED turns solid green and the charger switches to maintenance mode. There is no risk of overcharging, but it is recommended to unplug the charger when not in use.
Where can I find spare parts or get my charger repaired?
Consult the list of RYOBI authorized after-sales services at http://fr.ryobitools.eu/header/service-and-support/service-agents. Do not attempt to repair the charger yourself as it contains dangerous voltages.
