In order to maintain this condition and ensure safe operation, you must observe these operating instructions! Intended use The digital LED luxmeter Testboy TV 335 luxmeter is a measuring instrument for accurate deter- mination of the light intensity and incidence of light on a given surface. The measurement is made by means of a photo element; the measurement result is displayed on the LC display in four measuring ranges. The voltage supply is provided by a 9 V alkaline battery, Type 6F22. It is imperative to prevent direct contact with water and moisture, because the housing is not wa- tertight! It is recommended to use a dry, lint-free cloth, the use of cleaning agents is forbidden. Other use than previously described results in damage to the product. If the source of light develops strong heat, maintain sufficient distance.Operation

TV 335 DEUTSCH DEUTSCH Information about the correct light intensity The intensity of light is measured in Lux. The adaptation capability of the human eye is practically unrestricted. This can result in that the eye requires major visual performance also if the lighting is insufficient. If there is no, or insufficient light present, the eye can only fulfil its viewing tasks by straining, or possibly not at all. Affliction to the eyes is often the result. Accidents become more frequent. Using the digital luxmeter Testboy TV 335, you now have acquired a product with which to check everywhere, whether sufficient light intensities are actually available for the normal viewing tasks that are carried out daily. Seeing is the detection of the difference between brightness and col- ours, shapes, movement and distances. Only with the correct intensity of light can the eye fulfil its tasks. Therefore, good light is important. Saving is often incorrectly made with light. Dark zones attune to being unfriendly. Allow more light. The type of lighting influences the information that the eye transmits to the brain. Direct more light to there where accurate vision is important. There is a risk of an accident in rooms that are darker than 30 Lux! Older persons require more light because their visual acuity has reduced. A 60 year old person requires approximately twice the amount of light as a 30 year old. Carrying out measurements Before commissioning, observe the intended use as well as the safety instructions and technical data. Use the On/Off switch to switch on the instrument. Remove the protective cap from the light sensor and align this so that the light strikes the light sensor, aligned horizontally, vertically. Thereby, prevent shading the light sensor by your own body. Once the measurement is complete, switch off the instrument (On/Off switch) and install the pro- tective cap on the sensor. Measurement range (manual / automatic) After switching on the instrument, the measurement device is always in the automatic measure- ment range. By pressing the button “RAN”, the measurement range switches to manual. By again pressing the pushbutton, the measurement range and the decimal point (20.00; 200.0; 2000; 20.000; 200.000) changes. If the measurement value is outside the measurement range, “OL” appears on the display. Keep the button “WRAN” pressed until the corresponding manual measurement range is set, or until “AUTO” appears on the display and the automatic measure- ment range is reset. Relative measurement After switching on the instrument, the relative measurement can be activated by pressing the but- ton “REL/PEAK”. The value last indicated is set as the reference value and now indicates the dif- ferential values to the reference value set. The relative measurement can be carried out in the a u- tomatic and manual measurement range. This function can be deactivated by pressing the button “REL/PEAK” for a longer period.Operation

TV 335 17 ENGLISH DEUTSCH DEUTSCH Peak measurement After switching on the instrument, the peak measurement can be activated by pressing the button “REL/PEAK” for a longer period. This function increases the response time of the sensor, with which quicker changes in light can be recorded. The peak measurement can only be carried out in the manual measurement range. This function can be deactivated by pressing the button “REL/PEAK” for a longer period. Measurement units The measurement values can be indicated in Lux, FC (foot candle) and Candela. To change the unit, press the button “Lx/Fc/CD”. To change to Candela, press the button “Lx/Fc/CD” for a longer period. The distance setting for the source of light is possible using the buttons “UP” and “DOWN” To switch back, also keep the button “Lx/Fc/CD” pressed for a longer period.

Using the MAX/MIN function, the respective largest and smallest measurement value can be indi- cated. In order to deactivate the function, press the button “MAX/MIN” as often as required until the function required appears on the display, or until “MAX“ or "MIN“ is no longer visible. By pressing for a longer period, "LS L X“ (light source) appears and the different sources of light (flashing character) can be selected using the "Up and Down" arrows and can also be confirmed by pressing for a longer period.

TV 335 DEUTSCH DEUTSCH Zero adjustment function The zero point of the sensor curve can be adjusted by low intensities of light for optimum meas- urement results. After switching on the instrument, install the protective cap in order to cover the complete sensor. By pressing the button “HOLD/ZERO” for an extended period, the adjustment is started. Wait until the instrument is successfully adjusted, indicated by an acoustic signal. The value 0.00 Lux appears on the display. During adjustment, avoid strong solar radiation. Data hold function By momentary activation of the button “Hold/Zero”, the measurement value is saved until the but- ton is again activated.Operation

TV 335 19 ENGLISH DEUTSCH DEUTSCH Replacing the battery In the delivery condition, the instrument is already equipped with a 9 V alkaline battery, Type 6F22. As soon as the Low-Bat indication appears on the LC display, the battery must be re- placed, because the correctness of the indication is no longer be ensured. To replace the battery, proceed as follows: | Use a screwdriver to open the battery compartment and remove the old battery. | Insert a new battery of the same type. | Thereby, make sure that the polarity is correct | Make sure that the battery is firm and secure. | Install the battery compartment cover on the instrument. | Firmly attach the battery compartment cover The end user is legally obliged (battery law) to return all used batteries and battery packs (button cell to lead battery); disposal in the normal domestic waste is prohibited. Used batteries and bat- tery packs can be disposed of in community disposers (recycling depot), which are obliged to ac- cept them. Make a contribution to environmental protection!
