Congratulations on purchasing your new appliance. You have decided in favour of a high-quality product. The operating instructions are part of this product. They contain important information regarding the safety, use and disposal. Familiarise yourself with all the operating and safety indications prior to using the product. Only use the product as described and for the specified areas of use. If you pass the product on to third parties, hand out all the documents too.

This appliance is only intended for heating in pro- tected outdoor areas. The appliance is not intended for indoor use. Every further use or change to the appliance is viewed as not in accordance with its intended use and involves considerable accident risks. We assume no liability for damages arising from improper use. The appliance is only intended for private and not for commercial use.

2. Safety indications for room heating appliances

Read all the safety indications and instructions. Failure to adhere to the safety indications and instructions may cause serious injuries and/or property damages. Please keep all the safety indications and instructions for future use. WARNING! Do not cover! To avoid the heater overheating, it must not be covered. The heater must be installed at least 1.8 m above the floor. The heater must not be placed directly below or above a power supply socket. Do not connect this heater to a program switch, time switch, separate telecontrol system or any other device which automatically switches on the heater due to the fire hazard if the heater is covered or set up incorrectly. Do not use this heater if the heating element is damaged! The protection grille of this heater is intended to prevent direct access to the heating elements and must be installed in the designated location when using the heater. The protection grille does not offer adequate protection for toddlers or infirm persons. Do not use this heater in the direct vicinity of a bathtub, a shower or a swimming pool. Do not commission an appliance which has been dropped.GB/IE/NI/CY/MT

Do not use the product if you notice any visible damage. The heater must be mounted on a firm and level surface on the ceiling. If the supply cable for this appliance is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or his customer service or a similarly qualified person in order to avoid any dangers. No action is required on the part of the user to set the product to 220 or 240 V. The product automatically adjusts to the correct voltage. WARNING! The heater must not be used if there are persons in its vicinity who cannot leave the place independently, unless constant supervision is ensured. WARNING! Fire hazard! To reduce the risk of fire, keep textiles, curtains and other combustible materials at least 1 m away from the appliance.

2.1 General Safety Instructions

WARNING! FIRE RISK! Never use the appliance near or under curtains and other combusti- ble materials such as furniture, cushions, bedding and curtains. This device can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and by physically, sensory or mentally restricted persons if they are supervised or given instructions on safe use and understand the hazards involved as it does not require any experience or know- ledge. This device is not a toy for children to play with! Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be carried out by children without supervision. Children under the age of 3 are to be kept away unless they are continually supervised.GB/IE/NI/CY/MT 9 Children between the age of 3 and 8 are only allowed to switch the device on or off if they are supervised or given instructions on safe use and understand the hazards involved, provided that it has been placed or installed in its intended normal operating position. Children between the age of 3 and 8 shall not plug in, regulate and clean the heater or perform user maintenance! Children aged from 3 years and less than 8 years shall not plug in, regulate and clean the appliance or perform user maintenance. Beware of hot surfaces! CAUTION: Some parts of the product can become very hot and cause burns. Pay particular attention when children and vulnerable people are present. Danger to life by electrical current! Contacting the live cables or components is dangerous to your life! In outdoor areas, the mains plug may only be plugged into an IP44 socket!GB/IE/NI/CY/MT

2.2 Information about batteries

Keep out of reach of children. Swallowing can lead to injury, perforation of soft tissue and to death. Severe burns can occur within 2 hours of swallowing. Seek medical advice immediately. Incorrect use of batteries may result in fire, explosion, leakage of dangerous substances, or other hazard! Do not throw batteries into the fire and do not expose them to high temperatures. Do not open, deform or short-circuit the batteries. Otherwise, the contained chemicals can leak out of them. Do not try to recharge batteries. Recharging is only allowed for batteries which are marked as “rechargeable”. There is a danger of explosion! Always remove rechargeable batteries from the device to charge them. Regularly check the batteries. Leaking chemicals can cause heavy damage to the device. Dealing with damaged or leaking batteries, exercise a particular caution. Risk of chemical burns! Wear protective gloves. Chemicals escaping from a battery can cause skin irritation. In case of contact with skin, rinse with much water. In case of con- tact with eyes, do not rub your eye, but rinse it with water and immediately visit a doctor. Different types of batteries or accumulators as well as new and old batteries must not be used together. Always insert batteries with correct polarity, otherwise there is a risk of bursting. Remove the batteries from the device if you are not going to use it for a long time or if you want to store it. Insert the batteries according to the polarity.GB/IE/NI/CY/MT 11 Do not allow children to replace batteries without supervision by an adult. Always choose the right size and the right battery type for the in- tended use. The information sheet enclosed with the device which is meant to assist you in choosing the right batteries should be kept for reference. Clean the battery contacts and also the contacts of the equipment before installing the batteries. Remove used batteries immediately and dispose of them in an en- vironmentally friendly manner. Do not dismantle the batteries. If the battery compartment does not close securely, do not use the remote control any more and keep it away from children. Please avoid extreme conditions and temperatures which can ad- versely affect the batteries/rechargeable batteries, e.g. placing

3. Before commissioning

3.1 Mounting the unit

Remove all packaging material and all trans- port bracing from the device. Check that the package contents are complete and undam- aged. Do not install the unit in a hot or dusty environ- ment or near combustible material. The socket must be easily accessible so that the mains plug can be easily disconnected if neces- sary. Make sure that the wall must be able to support a weight of at least 8 kg (about four times the weight of the unit). The distance to the walls must not be be less than 30 cm. The distance to the ceiling must not be less than 60 cm. The distance to the ground must not be less than

3.3 Range of use of the remote control

When controlling the unit with the remote control, please be sure to observe the range of use of the unit as shown below. To ensure that the unit responds to a button press on the remote control, make sure that the remote control is within the range of use shown when a button is pressed. Depending on the distance to the unit, the angle of use and the radius of use change, resulting in the respective area of use. The most favourable positioning of the remote con

trol to the unit is below the unit in a radius of approx. 3 m. NOTE: If there are objects, walls or other obstacles between the unit and the remote control, the control of the unit with the remote control may be obstructed.GB/IE/NI/CY/MT

HAZARD. ATTENTION! You must not put the unit into opera- tion until it has been completely assembled!

upwards to "I". The unit is now supplied with power and is in standby mode. NOTE: A beep sounds each time a button on the re- mote control is pressed, provided the unit is in stand- by or heating mode.

4.2 Switch on the unit

You switch on the unit by pressing the on/off button

on the remote control. The appliance is now in the first heating stage and has an output of 800 W.

4.3 Heating level setting
