How to turn the distance meter on and off?

Press the ON/OFF button to turn the device on. To turn it off, press and hold the same button or the device will turn off automatically after 3 minutes of inactivity.

How to change the measurement unit (m, ft, inch)?

Press the unit change button (unit symbol) to toggle between meters (m), feet (ft), inches (inch), or feet+inches.

How to set the measurement reference (front/rear/thread)?

Press the measurement reference switch button (front/thread/rear symbol) to choose the reference: front (end of device), thread (threaded insert), or rear (back of device).

How to measure a single length?

Turn on the device, point the laser at the target, and press the Measure button (DIST). The result is displayed immediately.

How to use area measurement?

Press the function button (MEAS) several times until the area symbol (square) appears. Measure two lengths (press DIST for each); the device automatically calculates the area.

What to do if the screen displays an error code like 204 or 220?

Code 204 indicates a calculation error; redo the measurement. Code 220 means low batteries: replace the 3 AAA batteries. For other codes, consult the manual or contact the dealer.

Can the device measure through glass?

No, measurements through glass can be inaccurate. It is recommended to measure directly on the target.

How to clean the distance meter?

Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the housing and laser window. Do not allow water to enter inside.

What is the maximum range outdoors?

Outdoors, the range depends on sunlight. In strong sunlight, measurement is limited. The indicated indoor range is 0.2 to 70 m, but outdoors it may be reduced.

How to use the continuous measurement function (min/max)?

Press and hold the Measure button (DIST) for 2 seconds to start continuous measurement. Move the device; the screen displays the current, minimum, and maximum values. Briefly press DIST to stop.

In the area measurement, volume measurement and Pythagoras 1 to 3 functions the laser will switch off if left idle for a short time and must be switched on again by pressing button 1 in order to continue measurement.

Important notices

• The laser points to the location that will be measured. No objects may get into the laser's line of measurement
• The device compensates the measurement for different room temperatures. Therefore allow the device a brief adaptation period when changing locations with large temperature differences.
• The device is only conditionally useable in outdoor areas and cannot be used in strong sunlight.
• The measurement results of outdoor measurements may be influenced or falsified by rain, fog and snow.
• In unfavourable conditions, e.g. with poorly reflecting surfaces, the maximum deviation may be greater than 3 mm.
• Carpeting, upholstery or curtains will not reflect the laser optimally. Measure to flat surfaces.
• Measurements made through glass (window panes) can falsify measurement results.
• An energy-saving function switches the device off automatically.
• Clean with a soft cloth. Water may not be allowed to penetrate the housing.
