No guarantee is given that the data, illustrations and drawings are complete or correct. All rights reserved with re- gard to changes, printing mistakes and errors. Disposal Dear Testboy customer, purchasing our product gives you the option of returning the instrument to suitable collection points for waste electrical equipment at the end of its lifespan.

The WEEE directive regulates the return and recycling of electrical appliances. Manufacturers of electrical appliances are obliged to take back and recycle all electrical appliances free of charge. Electrical devices may then no longer be dis- posed of through conventional waste disposal channels. Electrical appliances must be recycled and disposed of separately. All equipment subject to this di- rective is marked with this logo.

Disposal of used batteries

As an end user, you are legally obliged (battery law) to return all used batteries; disposal in the normal domestic waste is prohibited. Batteries containing contaminant material are labelled with this symbol indicating that they may not be disposed of in normal domestic waste. The abbreviations used for the crucial heavy metals are: Cd = cadmium, Hg = mercury, Pb = lead. You can return your used batteries to collection points in your community or any- where where batteries are sold free-of-charge.

Pocket 100 ENGLISH ENGLISH Operation The Testboy

Pocket 100 is a universal multimeter. This measuring instrument has been manufactured to the actual safety specifications, and guarantees safe and reliable operation. The multimeter is a valuable aid for all standard measurement tasks in trade and industry as well as for electronics hobbyists. Fundamentally connect the red test lead to the measurement socket “INPUT” [4] and the black test lead to the measurement socket “COM” [5]. On/Off The measuring instrument switches on when the selector switch (3) is rotated to one of the meas- urement functions from the position OFF. To switch off, rotate the switch to the position(s) OFF. After approx. 5 minutes with no change in the measurement value the instrument switches off au- tomatically.

Test value save button By activating the button “HOLD” (6), the actual measurement value is saved and indicated on the display. This is indicated by “H” on the display. By again pressing the button, one returns to the measurement function. Display lighting By pressing the button “HOLD” (6) for a longer period, the backlighting for the display is switched on; to switch off, again press the button “HOLD” for a longer period.

AC V measurement In order to measure AC voltages greater than 0.6 V, rotate the selector switch (3) to the position ~V and place the measurement probes on the test object. The multimeter automatically sets itself to the most favourable measurement range. In order to measure AC voltages of less than 600 Millivolt, rotate the selector switch (3) to the po- sition mV. Here, by pressing the button Select (2), it is switched from DC to AC. At more than 600 mV, OL.is indicated on the display. Range Resolution Accuracy Impedance Overvoltage protection Frequency range 600 mV

DC V measurement In order to measure DC voltages greater than 0.6 V, rotate the selector switch (3) to the position =V and place the measurement probes on the test object. The multimeter automatically sets itself to the most favourable measurement range. In order to measure DC voltages of less than 600 Millivolt, rotate the selector switch (3) to the po- sition mV. At more than 600 mV, OL.is indicated on the display. Range Resolution Accuracy Impedance Overvoltage protection 600 mV

Frequency measurement In order to measure frequencies, rotate the selector switch (3) to the position Hz/% and place the measurement probes on the test object. The multimeter automatically sets itself to the most fa- vourable measurement range. Range Resolution Accuracy Overvoltage protection 10 Hz

Duty cycle In order to measure the relationship of the duration of the pulse to the duration of the period, press the Select button (2) with the selector switch (3) in the position Hz/%. The % sign is indicated on the display. Now place the measurements probes on the test object.Operation 22 Testboy

Capacity measurement In order to measure the capacities, rotate the selector switch (3) to the position and place the measurement probes on the test object. The multimeter automatically sets itself to the most favourable measurement range.

Pay attention to deenergization and, before measurement, discharge the condensers.

Range Resolution Accuracy Overvoltage protection 60 nF

Resistance measurement In order to measure the resistance values, rotate the selector switch (3) to the position Ω o))) and place the measurement probes on the test object. The multimeter automatically sets itself to the most favourable measurement range. Range Resolution Accuracy Overvoltage protection Measuring voltage 600 Ω

Continuity test In order to test low impedance continuity, press the Select button (2) with the selector switch (3) at the position Ω o))) . A beep is emitted if the resistance values are less than 50 Ω. Range Resolution Overvoltage protection Test voltage Test current Beep

Maintenance The instrument does not require special maintenance when operated as specified in these oper- ating instructions. Cleaning Use a damp cloth and mild household detergent to clean the instrument should it become soiled through daily use. Never use aggressive cleaning agents or solvents to clean the instrument.

WARNING Make sure that no voltages of more than 600 V are applied at the test leads, also if the indication permits this. Damage to the electronics could occur!Operation Testboy

Replacing the battery Replace the batteries when the battery symbol appears on the display. Before replacing the battery, remove the test leads from the test object! Only use batteries of the type specified.

Batteries must not be disposed of with normal domestic waste. There will be a collection point near you!

Rotate the locking at the rear through 180 degrees to the position “open”, open the battery cover and replace the discharged batteries. Hereby, pay attention to the correct polarity of the batteries! Replace the battery compart- ment cover and lock by rotating through 180 degrees to the position “closed”.

Definition of the measurement categories: Measurement category II: Measurements on circuits directly connected to low voltage networks electrically via plug. Typical short-circuit current < 10 kA Measurement category III: Measurements within the building installation (stationary consumer devices with non-plug-in connection, distributor connection, permanently installed equipment in the distributor). Typical short-circuit current < 50 kA Measurement category IV: Measurements at the source of the low voltage installation (meters, mains connection, primary overcurrent protection).
