- Before each use, thoroughly clean the appliance as described in the section “maintenance”.
- Place the appliance on a flat, rigid surface, leaving a sufficient, clear space in front of the device in which to place the bags containing the food to be packed.
- Check that the drip tray is inserted in its slot.
- Connect the appliance to a power socket.
- Insert the food to be packed evenly in the bag. Check that the bag is 8 cm longer than the food to be preserved.
- Lift the lid. It is possible to select the sealing time of the appliance and the number of seals to be made based on the food being packed (see section “Description of functions”). The machine is automatically set to the “Sealing setting - single” function by default. To change the settings, lower the handle. Once the selection has been changed, it is saved until the appliance is disconnected from the power socket.
1. Position the open end of the bag inside the vacuum chamber as shown in
figure 2. With bags that have only one embossed side, position the smooth side facing upwards. Make sure the inside of the bag, in the point where it will be sealed, is clean and free of any food residue. The bag must be perfectly stretched and unwrinkled.
2. Lower the lid and hook it to the base of the machine, pressing the handle
downward; the “Sealing setting” key light turns on indicating the previously made selection (“single - double - double extended”).
3. Press the “Automatic/STOP” key to start the automatic air extraction and

PARTIAL VACUUM Total air extraction using the automatic method tends to crush more delicate and fragile foods (such as strawberries, berries, breadsticks, vegetables, etc.); in these cases, it is therefore possible to use the manual vacuum, interrupting air extraction when necessary.
1. Position the bag and secure the lid of the machine as described in points
1 and 2 of the section “Use with bags”. A vacuum can be manually generated in two ways: a. Press the “Automatic/STOP” key to start extracting the air. Keep a close eye on the air being extracted from the bag, and when necessary stop the vacuum process by pressing the “Seal” key. b. Press the “Pulse vacuum” key to extract the air, and when necessary stop the vacuum process by pressing the “Seal” key.
2. Lift the lid and check that the bag is properly sealed.
USE WITH CONTAINERS (not supplied) Using Laica canisters. Before each use, make sure that the lid, canister and canister seal are completely clean and dry.
1. Fill the canister up to a maximum of 2 cm below the top edge.
2. Put the lid on and, for the VT3304 model only, turn the air valve on the lid
to the "•SEAL" position.
3. Connect the canister tube by inserting one of the two ends into the socket
located on the machine lid, and the other end into the socket located on the canister lid.
4. Hook the lid onto the base of the machine by lowering the locking handle.
5. Press the “Canister” key to start the automatic air extraction procedure:
the indicator light on the key will come on. Wait until the indicator light goes out.
6. Extract the tube from the canister, place the canister back in the fridge,
freezer or storeroom.
VACUUM PACKING FOR LIQUIDS
To place liquids under vacuum, they need to be frozen first. Place the liquid food in a suitable canister, place it in the freezer for approximately 12-18 hours, then take it out of the canister and place it in a vacuum bag. Extract the air and seal the bag as described in the section "user instructions - use with bags"; then place the bag back in the freezer. MAINTENANCE
