Assembly, operating and safety instructions
. The product switches on at dusk. The LED is a very long-life and energy-saving light source. The light du- ration depends on the amount of sunlight, the angle at which light hits the solar module
, and the temperature (the rechargeable battery capacity varies by temperature). A vertical angle of light at temperatures above the freezing point is ideal. The rechargeable battery
does not achieve maximum capacity until after several charge and discharge cycles. Parts description

GER TO LIFE FOR INFANTS AND CHILDREN! Keep rechargeable batteries away from children. Do not leave the rechargeable batteries lying around. There is a danger that these will be swallowed by children or pets. If they are accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention. Children or persons lacking knowledge or experience in handling the product or have limited physical, sensory or mental abilities, must not use the product without supervision or instruction by a person responsible for their safety. Children must be supervised at all times to prevent them from playing with the product. Never leave children unsupervised with the packaging material. The packaging material poses a suffocation hazard. Children fre- quently underestimate the dangers. Please always keep the product out of the reach of children. This product is not a toy and should be kept out of the reach of children. Children are not aware of the dangers associated with handling electrical products. Do not use the product if you detect any type of damage. The LED is not replaceable. If the LED fails at the end of its life, the entire product must be re- placed. DANGER - EXPLOSION HAZARD! Do not use the product in explosive environments containing flam- mable vapours, gasses or dusts. Product-specific safety instructions Do not expose the product to strong vibration or high mechanical loads.25 GB/IE Make sure the lampshade is free of dirt and free of snow and ice in winter. Otherwise the performance of the solar module
will be diminished. Cold temperatures negatively impact the rechargeable batteries operating time. Clean and store. Switch off before storage. The product in a dry, warm location during extended periods of non- use, e.g. in winter. In the event of damage, repairs or other problems with the product, please contact an electrician. The LED cannot be replaced. DANGER - EXPLOSION HAZARD! Use only rechargeable batteries of the recommended type. Other rechargeable or single-use batteries could explode during charging. DANGER - RISK OF INJURY! When removing the product, be sure to also remove the ground spike to prevent hazards (e.g. tripping). DANGER - FIRE HAZARD! Never switch the product on inside the packaging. Safety instructions for batteries / rechargeable batteries DANGER TO LIFE! Keep batteries / rechargeable batteries out of reach of children. If accidentally swallowed seek immediate medical attention. Swallowing may lead to burns, perforation of soft tissue, and death. Severe burns can occur within 2 hours of ingestion. DANGER OF EXPLOSION! Never recharge non-re- chargeable batteries. Do not short-circuit batteries / re- chargeable batteries and / or open them. Overheating, fire or bursting can be the result.26 GB/IE Never throw batteries / rechargeable batteries into fire or water. Do not exert mechanical loads to batteries / rechargeable batteries. Risk of leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries Avoid extreme environmental conditions and temperatures, which could affect batteries / rechargeable batteries, e.g. radiators / direct sunlight. If batteries / rechargeable batteries have leaked, avoid contact with skin, eyes and mucous membranes with the chemicals! Flush immediately the affected areas with fresh water and seek medical attention! WEAR PROTECTIVE GLOVES! Leaked or damaged batteries / rechargeable batteries can cause burns on contact with the skin. Wear suitable protective gloves at all times if such an event occurs. In the event of a leakage of batteries / rechargeable batteries, im- mediately remove them from the product to prevent damage. Only use the same type of batteries / rechargeable batteries. Do not mix used and new batteries / rechargeable batteries. Remove batteries / rechargeable batteries if the product will not be used for a longer period. Risk of damage of the product Only use the specified type of battery / rechargeable battery! Insert batteries / rechargeable batteries according to polarity marks (+) and (-) on the battery / rechargeable battery and the product. Use a dry lint-free cloth or cotton swab to clean the contacts on the battery / rechargeable battery and in the battery compartment before inserting! Remove exhausted batteries / rechargeable batteries from the product immediately.27 GB/IE Initial use Assemble the product Remove the packaging and assemble the product as shown in Figure A. Then insert the ground spike
into the bottom of the product (see Fig. A). Installing the product (Fig. C) Note: The product can be installed without a power source. Only use the product with the included ground spike
Push the assembled product far enough into the ground (lawn, flower bed) so it is stable (see Fig. C). Since the product relies on sunlight, consider and observe the following points prior to instal- lation.
is exposed to direct sunlight during the day.
is not covered or in the shade (trees, roof ridge, etc.).
is not impacted by another light source, e.g. yard or street lighting, as this will prevent the product from switching on at dusk. Remember many light sources will only switch on due to the time or movement during the night. Preparing the product prior to initial use Note: The product features a twilight sensor and an main switch
When fully charged the product on time is approx. 8 hours. Press the main switch
to switch position ”I” to the switch on before using it for the first time. Place the product in the sun.28 GB/IE Switching the product on / off and change light color (Fig. B) Press the main switch
to switch position “I” to switch on. The LEDs light up briefly to show the light color. The product will automatically switch on at dusk. At dawn the product will automatically switch off. Press the mode switch
to change the light color. The product will continuously light up in the currently selected colour. Press the main switch
to switch position “0” to switch off. The product is permanently switched off. After switching off and on again the last selected mode lights up. Replacing the rechargeable battery Note: The rechargeable battery
is designed for prolonged operation. However, it may need to be replaced after being used for a long time. Rechargeable batteries are subject to natural wear and the output may decrease. For optimal performance the battery
should be replaced every 12 months. Replace the rechargeable battery
as shown in figure D. Remove the ground spike
Press the main switch
to switch position “0” to switch off the product. For model A, B Loosen the fastening screws
by using a small cross head screw- driver and then lever out the battery compartment cover
with the help of a slot screwdriver. Exchange the old rechargeable battery to a new one. Take care to the correct polarity, when inserting the new rechargeable battery
. The polarity is indicated in the battery compartment. The new rechargeable battery
has to have the same technical data like the old one (see “Technical data“).29 GB/IE Now again fasten the battery compartment cover

by using a small cross head screwdriver. When closing, pay attention to the silicone cover
, otherwise the IP protection is not guaranteed. Press the main switch
to switch the product on during darkness. For model E, F Loosen the fastening screws
by using a small cross head screw- driver. Loosen the screws on the solar module
with the help of a slot screwdriver. Pay attention to the wires. Lift up the circuit board
very carefully and insert it again. Pay attention to the groove in the solar module
when inserting it again. Exchange the old rechargeable battery to a new one. Take care to the correct polarity, when inserting the new rechargeable battery
The polarity is indicated in the battery compartment. The new rechargeable battery has to have the same technical data like the old one (see “Technical data“). The rechargeable battery must be kept as horizontal as possible when inserting it. Now again fasten the LED

, other- wise the IP protection is not guaranteed. Press the main switch
to switch position “I” to enable the product switching on during darkness. Troubleshooting Note: The product contains sensitive electronic components. Radio transmitting equipment in the immediate vicinity may therefore cause interference. These could be e.g. mobile phones, two-way radios, CB30 GB/IE radios, radio / other remote controls and microwaves. If you notice the product is malfunctioning, remove any sources of interference from the area around the product. Note: Electrostatic discharge can lead to malfunctions. In the event of such malfunctions, briefly remove and reinsert the rechargeable battery
Note: The performance of the rechargeable battery
is better in summer than in winter due to the weather. Error Cause Solution LED doesn’t light up Surroundings are too bright or light from other light sources is hitting the product. Change the location (away from e.g. y ard or street lighting). Product is switched off. Make sure the main switch
is on. Weak LED light The rechargeable battery
is not fully charged or defective. Charge the recharge- able battery
with a charger or replace with a new recharge- able battery (see “Replacing the rechargeable battery”). LED doesn’t light up LED defective The LED cannot be replaced. Dispose of the product properly (see “Disposal”)31 GB/IE Maintenance / Cleaning Note: The LED cannot be replaced. The product is maintenance-free. Never use caustic cleaners. Regularly clean the product with a dry, lint-free cloth. Use a slightly moist cloth to remove any stubborn dirt. Replace the rechargeable battery
if the operating time decreases noticeably after some time despite good sun exposure (see chapter “Replacing the rechargeable battery“). Disposal The packaging is made entirely of recyclable materials, which you may dispose of at local recycling facilities.
