During production, this equipment has been checked for quality and subjected to a nal inspection. The functionality of your equipment is therefore guaranteed. The operating instructions con- stitute part of this product. They con- tain important inform- ation on safety, use and disposal. Before using the product, fa- miliarise yourself with all of the operating and safety instruc- tions. Use the product only as described and for the applications specied. Keep this manual safely and in the event that the product is passed on, hand over all documents to the third party. Intended purpose The rechargeable battery is to be used in conjunction with a device from the Park- side X12VTEAM series. The re- chargeable battery compatible with all devices in the Park- side X12VTEAM series. Any other use that is not explicitly approved in these instructions may result in damage to28 GB MT the equipment and represent a serious danger to the user. This equipment is not suitable for commer- cial use. Commercial use will invalidate the guarantee. The man- ufacturer is not liable for damages caused by an improper use or incorrect operation of this device. General description The illustra- tions are on the front fold-out page. Symbols on the battery The rechargeable battery is part of the Parkside X12VTEAM series. Read the op- erating instruc- tions carefully. Do not dispose of bat- teries in household waste, re or water.31 GB MT Do not subject the battery to strong sunlight over long periods and do not leave it on a heater (max. 50°C). Take batteries to an old battery collection point where they will be recycled in an envir- onmentally friendly manner. Electrical devices must not be dis- posed of with domestic waste. General Safety Directions Caution! When using power tools, observe the following basic safety measures for the prevention of electric shocks and the risk of injuryandre. Please read all these instructions before using this electric tool and please keep the safety instructions. Careful handling and use of battery devices
- Chargethebatter- ies only in chargers that are recom- mended by the manufacturer. Risk of re if a charger that is suitable for32 GB MT a specic type of battery is used with other batteries.
- In the power tools, use only the batter- ies designed for the purpose. The use of other batteries may result in injuries and risk of re.
- Keeptheunused battery away from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other small metal objects, which could cause bridging of the con- tacts. A short circuit between the battery contacts may cause burns or re.
- Ifusedincorrectly, liquid may leak from the battery. Avoid contact with this. In the event of accidental contact, rinse off with water. If the liquid gets into eyes, seek medical assistance. Leaking battery uid may cause skin irritations or burns.
- Donotusedam- aged or altered batteries. Damaged or altered batteries can be unpredict- able and lead to re, explosion or risk of injury.
- Donotexpose batteriestore or elevated tem- peratures. Fire or temperatures over 130°C can cause an explosion.
- Followallinstruc- tions for charging and never charge the battery or the battery-powered tool outside the33 GB MT temperature range stated in the oper- ating instructions. Incorrect charging or charging outside the permitted tem- perature range may destroy the battery and increase the risk of re. Service
- Neverrepairdam- aged batteries. All battery repairs should be carried out by the manufac- turer or authorised customer service centres only. Special safety directions for bat- tery-operated tools
- Ensurethatthe device is switched off before inserting the battery. Insert- ing a battery into a power tool that is switched on may result in accidents.
- Rechargethebat- teries indoors only because the battery charger is designed for indoor use only.
- Toreducetheelec- tric shock hazard, unplug the battery charger from the mains before clean- ing the charger.
- Donotsubjectthe battery to strong sunlight over long periods and do not leave it on a heater. Heat dam- ages the battery and there is a risk of explosion.
- Allowahotbat- tery to cool before34 GB MT charging.
- Donotopenupthe battery and avoid mechanical dam- age to the battery. Risk of short circuit and fumes may be emitted that irritate the respiratory tract. Ensure fresh air and seek med- ical assistance.
- Donotuseanyac- cessories that are not recommended byPARKSIDE. This can result in elec- tric shock or re. Observe the safety informa- tion and notes on charging in the in- struction manual for your Parkside X 12 V Team series tool and charger. Charging Donotexpose the battery to extreme conditions such as heat and shocks. There is a risk of injury caused by leaking electrolyte solution! In case of contact with eyes or skin, rinse the affected sites with water or a neutralizer and seek medical attention. The battery must only be charged up in dry areas. The external surface of the battery must be clean and dry before being con- nected to the charger. There is a risk of per- sonal injuries from an electric shock.35 GB MT Switch off the device and remove the battery before carrying out any work. The re- chargeable battery only reaches its full capa- city once it has been charged several times.
- Charge the battery before using it for the rst time.
- Only use chargers from the Parkside X12VTeam series to recharge the battery.
- If the operating time is consider- ably shortened despite charging, this shows that the rechargeable battery is depleted and must be replaced. Only use an original re- placement battery from the Parkside X12VTeam series, which can be purchased from the online shop (see the “Spare parts” section).
- Always comply with the latest safety information, as well as the regulations and in- formation relating to environmental protection.
- Defects resulting from improper handling are not covered by the guarantee.36 GB MT Checking the battery charge level The battery’s (1) charge level is indic- ated by the charge state indicator.
- The charge level of the battery is indicated by illumin- ation of the corres- ponding LED lights while the device is in operation. Press and hold the power button to view. red-yellow-green => Battery fully charged red and yellow => Battery half charged red =>Battery needs to be charged Charging the battery If warm, allow the battery to cool before charging. Charge the bat- tery (1) when only the red LED on the level indicator is il- luminated. The battery indicator on the device displays the battery (1) charge level.

- If a fully recharged battery lasts for considerably shorter operating times, the battery is used up and needs to be re- placed. Only use an OEM battery pack replacement available from our Customer Service.
- Always take heed of the applicable safety instructions as well as the environmental pro- tection regulations and information (see “Cleaning and Maintenance”).38 GB MT Storage
- Remove the battery before storing the unit for longer peri- ods of time.
- During a longer storage period, check the state of charge of the bat- tery and recharge if necessary roughly every 3months.
- The storage tem- perature for the battery is between 0°C and 45°C. Avoid extreme cold or heat during stor- age to ensure the battery output is not adversely affected. Cleaning Clean the battery with a dry cloth or with a paint brush. Do not use water or metal objects. Maintenance The appliance cleaner is maintenance free. Disposal and protection of the environment Remove the battery from the device and take the device, bat- tery, accessories and packaging for envir- onmentally friendly recycling. Machines do not belong with domestic waste. Do not dispose of batteries in household39 GB MT waste, re (risk of explosion) or water. Damaged batteries may damage the environment and your health if toxic fumes or liquids leak out.
- Defective or used batteries must be recycled in accord- ance with Directive 2006/66/EC.
- Take the lithium-ion battery to a re- cycling plant. The plastics and metals in the unit can be sorted and appro- priately recycled. Ask our Service Centre for details.
- Dispose of batter- ies in discharged condition. We recommend cover- ing the pole with adhesive tape to prevent a short cir- cuit. Do not open up the battery.
- Dispose of batter- ies in accordance with the local regulations. Take batteries to an old battery collection point where they will be recycled in an environmentally friendly manner. For information about this, ask your local waste management com- pany or our service centre.

In case of defects, you have statutory rights against the seller of the product. These statutory rights are not restricted by our guarantee presented below. Terms of Guarantee The term of the guar- antee begins on the date of purchase. Please retain the original receipt. This document is required as proof of purchase. If a material or manu- facturing defect occurs within three years of the date of purchase of this product, we will repair or replace – at our choice – the product for you free of charge. This guar- antee requires the defective equipment and proof of purchase to be presented within the three-year period with a brief written description of what constitutes the defect and when it occurred. If the defect is covered by our guarantee, you will receive either the repaired product or a new product. No new guarantee period begins on repair or replacement of the product. Guarantee Period and Statutory Claims for Defects The guarantee42 GB MT period is not exten- ded by the guaran- tee service. This also applies for replaced or repaired parts. Any damages and defects already present at the time of purchase must be reported immediately after unpacking. Repairs arising after expiry of the guar- antee period are chargeable. Guarantee Cover The equipment has been carefully pro- duced in accordance with strict quality guidelines and con- scientiously checked prior to delivery. The warranty is only valid for material or manufacturing de- fects. This warranty does not extend to consumable parts exposed to normal wear and tear (e.g. battery capacity). The warranty elapses if the product was damaged or if it was used improperly or not serviced. Neither does it extend to damage resulting from water, frost, lightningandreor improper transport. All instructions listed in the instruction manual have to be observed to ensure proper use of the product. Purposes for use and actions that the instruction manual advises against or cautions of must be avoided43 GB MT by all means. The product is designed only for private and not commercial use. The guarantee will be in- validated in case of misuse or improper handling, use of force, or interven- tions not undertaken by our authorised service branch. Processing in Case of Guarantee To ensure efcient handling of your query, please follow the directions below:

Repair Service For a charge, repairs not covered by the guarantee can be carried out by our service branch, which will be happy to issue a cost estimate for you. We can handle only equipment that has been sent with adequate packaging and postage. Attention: Please send your equipment to our service branch in clean condition and with an indic- ation of the defect. Equipment sent car- riage forward or by bulky goods, express or other special freight will not be accepted.
