This device was quality-tested and subjected to a final inspec- tion during production, therefore ensuring proper functioning of your device. The instruction manual forms part of this device. Do not expose the bat- tery to direct sunlight for long periods and do not place it on a radiat- or (max. 50°C). Do not throw the bat- tery into water. Do not throw the bat- tery into a fire. Symbols used in the instruction manual Attention! General Safety Warnings

1. Recharge only with a

charger of the series X20VTEAM. A char- ger that is suitable for one type of battery pack may create a risk of fire when used with another battery pack.

2. Use power tools only

with specifically des- ignated battery packs. Use of any other battery packs may create a risk of injury and fire.

3. When battery pack

is not in use, keep it away from other met- al objects, like pa- per clips, coins, keys, nails, screws or oth- er small metal ob- jects, that can make a connection from one terminal to another. Shorting the battery ter- minals together may cause burns or a fire.

4. Under abusive condi-

tions, liquid may be ejected from the bat- tery; avoid contact. If contact accidentally occurs, flush with wa- ter. If liquid contacts eyes, additionally seek medical help. Liquid ejected from the battery may cause irritation or burns.

5. Do not use a battery

pack or tool that is damaged or modified. Damaged or modified batteries may exhibit unpredictable behaviour resulting in fire, explo- sion or risk of injury.

6. Do not expose a bat-

tery pack or tool to fireGB

or excessive temper- ature. Exposure to fire or temperature above 130°C may cause ex- plosion.

7. Follow all charging

instructions and do not charge the bat- tery pack or tool out- side the temperature range specified in the instructions. Charging improperly or at temper- atures outside the spe- cified range may dam- age the battery and in- crease the risk of fire. SERVICE

1. Never service dam-

aged battery packs. Service of battery packs should only be per- formed by the manufac- turer or authorized ser- vice providers. Special safety warnings for battery- operated tools

  • Make sure the device is switched off before inserting the battery. Inserting a battery in- to a power tool that is switched on may result in accidents.
  • Recharge the batteries indoors only because the battery charger is designed for indoor use only. Danger of electric shock.
  • To reduce the electric shock hazard, unplug the battery charger from the mains before cleaning the charger.
  • Do not expose the bat- tery to strong sunlight over long periods and do not leave it on a heater. Heat damages the battery and there is a risk of explosion.
  • Allow a hot battery to cool before charging.
  • Do not open up the battery and avoid mechanical damage to the battery. Risk of short circuit and fumes may be emitted that ir- ritate the respiratory tract. Ensure fresh air and seek medical as- sistance.
  • Do not use non-re- chargeable batteries!GB

  • The rechargeable bat- tery only reaches its full capacity once it has been charged several times.

1. Press the button (2) next

to the charge level in- dicator button (3) on the battery (4). The LEDs of the charge level indicator show how much charge re- mains in the battery.

2. Charge the battery (4)

when only the red LED on the charge level in- dicator (3) is illuminated. Inserting and removing the battery into/from the cord- less device WARNING! Risk of in- jury due to unintentional start-up. Only insert the battery into the device once the device is fully prepared for use. NOTICE! Risk of damage! An incorrect battery can damage the device and battery. Inserting the battery

along the guide into the battery holder. You will hear the battery click into place.GB

Removing the battery

1. Press and hold the bat-

tery release (1) on the battery (4).

2. Pull the battery out of

the battery holder. Operation Used batteries

  • If the operating time is considerably shortened despite charging, this shows that the re- chargeable battery is depleted and must be replaced. Only use an original replacement battery of the series X20VTEAM, which can be purchased from the online shop (see Spare parts and ac- cessories, p.32).
  • Always observe the safety information in ad- dition to the regulations and information about environmental protec- tion (see Disposal/en- vironmental protection, p.27). Cleaning, main- tenance and storage WARNING! Risk of in- jury due to unintentional start-up. Protect yourself when performing mainten- ance or cleaning work. Switch off the device and remove the battery (4). You should have any repair and maintenance work that is not described in these instructions carried out by our Service Centre. Only use original replace- ment parts. Cleaning Clean the battery with a dry cloth or with a paint brush. Do not use water or metal objects. Maintenance The device is maintenance free. Storage How to store the product:
  • protected against dust,GB
  • protected against frost,
  • out of the reach of chil- dren.
  • The storage temper- ature for the battery is between 0 – 45°C. Avoid extreme cold or heat during storage, so that the battery does not lose performance. Remove the battery be- fore storing the device for a long period of time (e.g. winter storage).
  • Store the battery only in a partially charged state. The charge level should be 40-60% dur- ing a longer storage period (two LEDs on the charge level indicator (3) light up.
  • If stored for a longer period, check the charge level of the battery about every 3 months and recharge if necessary. Disposal/environ- mental protection Disposal instructions for rechargeable batteries Do not throw bat- teries into domestic waste, fire (risk of explosion) or wa- ter. Damaged bat- teries can harm the environment and your health if pois- onous fumes or li- quids escape. Dispose of the batter- ies according to local standards. Defective or used batteries must be re- cycled. Hand in the batter- ies at a used battery col- lection point where they are recycled in an envir- onmentally friendly man- ner. For more information, please contact your local waste management pro- vider or our service centre. Dispose of batteries in a discharged state. short circuits. Do not open the battery. Service Guarantee Dear Customer, This product is provided with a 3year guaran- tee from the date of pur- chase. In case of defects, you have statutory rights against the seller of the product. These statutory rights are not restricted by our guarantee presented below. Terms of Guarantee The guarantee period be- gins on the date of pur- chase. Please retain the original receipt. This docu- ment is required as proof of purchase. If a mater- ial or manufacturing de- fect occurs within three years of the date of pur- chase of this product, we will repair or replace – at our choice – the product for you free of charge. Neither does it ex- tend to damage resulting from water, frost, lightning and fire or improper trans- port. Precise adherence to all of the instructions specified in the operat- ing manual is required for proper use of the product. Intended uses and actions against which the oper- ating manual advises or warns must be categoric- ally avoided. The product is designed only for private and not commercial use. The guar- antee will be invalidated in case of misuse or improp- er handling, use of force, or interventions not under- taken by our authorised service branch.
