  • Always unplug the device after use and before cleaning it.
  • Unplug a device that has fallen into water immediately before retrieving it.
  • An electrical device should never remain connected unsupervised. Unplug it when you are not using it.
  • Keep the power cable away from hot surfaces.
  • Never use this device in a room where aerosol products (sprays) are used or in a room where oxygen is being administered.
  • This unit is intended only for family use.
  • Never obstruct the device’s air vents and never put the device on an unstable surface such as a carpet or mattress. This could prevent ventilation. Make sure that the ventilation holes are not clogged with hair, u, dust, etc. Do not insert any objects.
  • Always place the humidier on a hard, at, horizontal surface, at least FIFTEEN centimetres away from walls and sources of heat such as ovens, radiators etc. The humidier cannot run properly on a surface that is not horizontal.
  • Do not use this device near any area where water is present or close to any electrical device or wooden furniture.
  • Never try to connect or disconnect this device if you are in contact with water or in a damp atmosphere. This could pose a risk of electric shock.

  • Do not add ANY substance other than distilled or demineralised water to the reservoir at a temperature below 40°.
  • Never switch the humidier on when there is no water in the reservoir.
  • Do not shake the device. This might make the water spill over into the base unit and prevent it from working.
  • Never touch the water and the submerged components when the unit is working.
  • To prevent components being damaged in any way, do not splash the inside of the base unit.
  • Do not use essential oils that are not recommended for diusion.
  • Do not use perfume or synthetic essences as these could damage the device.
  • Never scrape the transducer.
  • If the temperature falls below 0°, please empty the water from the reservoir and the base to prevent freezing.
  • Do not use the humidier if the air in the room is already suciently humid (relative humidity of at least 50%). Excess humidity manifests itself in the condensation on the cold surfaces or the cold walls of the room. To measure the room’s humidity correctly, use a hygrometer available in most specialist shops and hypermarkets.
  • We recommend using the device at a temperature between 5 and 40°C at a relative humidity of less than 50%.

4. Main switch (ON/OFF and vapour adjustment)

7. Foam for organic essential oils

  • Runs continuously for 10 hours;
  • Easy-to-ll water reservoir;
  • Foam acts as a carrier for diusing essential oils. Functions:
  • Increases and adjusts the relative humidity of the room;
  • Eliminates electrostatic charges;
  • Improves ambient air quality. How to use:
  • Place the device in the room half an hour before turning it on to allow it to adjust to room temperature.
  • Remove the device’s reservoir (Fig. 3), unscrew the cap by turning it in an anti-clockwise direction (Fig. 4)
  • Fill the reservoir with clean water up to 40°C (Fig. 5). Screw the cap back on by turning it in a clockwise direction. N.B.: Do not ll the reservoir from the top or through the mist outlet. (Fig. 6)
  • Make sure it is clean and water-tight then carefully put the reservoir on the base unit. (Fig. 7)
  • “Pommy” includes a starter foam for essential oils that is already lemon-scented, so do not add any organic essential oils. The foam carrying essential oils is located in the mist outlet (the rod in the “Pommy”) Fig. 8). This starter foam can be used several times.
  • To change the foam and add your own essential oils, remove the mist outlet (the rod inside the “Pommy”) and take out the existing foam (Fig. 9 and 10). You can now add 2-3 drops of organic essential oils before removing the foam in the mist outlet (Fig. 11). Please note: read the paragraph on the use of essential oils in this handbook.
  • With dry hands, connect the power supply plug and switch on the device. The blue light indicator comes on. The device then starts to work. (Fig. 12).
  • The light indicator changes from blue to red when there is no longer any water (Fig. 13).
  • Adjust the vapour intensity you require by turning the vapour intensity control button (Fig. 14).
  • Close monitoring is needed in every instance to avoid any risk. PLEASE NOTE: Using essential oils: Use only the foam carrying organic essential oils located in the mist outlet to diuse organic essential oils in the room. Pour a few drops of organic essential oils on to the foam and then replace the mist outlet. (Fig. 9, 10 and 11). Never pour organic essential oils directly into the water reservoir as this could cause irreparable damage. Before choosing the organic essential oils you will be using for diusion, you must ask the shop’s sales sta for advice.

Downloaded from www.vandenborre.be8 PLEASE NOTE: DO NOT LEAVE THE DEVICE CONNECTED WHEN YOU ARE NOT USING IT. CARE AND STORAGE: If the water is hard, i.e. if it contains too much calcium and magnesium, it may leave a “white powder” in the device and cause frothing on the surface of the basin, on the transducer (ceramic pellets producing ultrasound) and on the internal walls of the water reservoir. Frothing on the surface of the transducer means that the device will not work properly. We recommend: If the water contains too much calcium and magnesium, it may deposit a “white powder” in the device. If this foam is deposited on the transducer(s) (ceramic ring(s) producing ultrasounds, diagram 1, point 5), this will prevent the device from working properly. Maintenance: We recommend:

1) Using water that has been boiled and cooled or distilled water each time the device is used.

2) Cleaning the reservoir every 3 days and cleaning the transducer every week;

3) Changing the water in the tank regularly so that it stays fresh, and not leaving it there for longer than 2 days.

4) Cleaning the entire device and making sure that all its parts are completely dry when it is not in use.

To clean the transducer:

1) Put 2 to 5 drops of vinegar on its surface and leave them there for 2 to 5 minutes.

2) Brush the foam o the surface with a soft brush. Do not use a hard tool to scrape the surface.

3) Rinse the transducer with clean water.

4) Do not use soap or other basic substances to clean the transducer

1) Clean the basin with water using a soft cloth and vinegar if there are foam OR lime scale deposits on the inside.

2) If the foam covers the safety switch, put a few drops of vinegar on it and clean it with a brush.

3) Rinse the basin in clean water.

1) Clean and dry the humidier carefully using ultrasound, following the maintenance instructions.

2) Let it dry completely before storing it. Do not store it there is still water in the base.

3) Store the device in a dry, cool place out of the reach of children.
