2EN INSTRUCTIONS Thank you for your interest in CHARLY for Kids by LANAFORM®. This ultrasonic humidifier uses a high frequency oscillator to divide water into droplets with a diameter of about 1 to 5 µm. The fan system diffuses the water in the form of a cool mist providing the desired humidity. This mist is visible as a light spray emitted by the diffusor. PLEASE READ ALL INSTRUCTIONS, AND PARTICULARLY THE RECOMMENDATIONS FOR BASIC SAFETY BEFORE USING THE HUMIDIFIER.

• Always put the humidifier on a hard, flat, horizontal surface, at least 15 cm from the walls and away from any source of heat such as burners, radiators etc. The humidifier cannot operate correctly on a surface that is not horizontal.

• Check that the voltage of your electric supply corresponds to that of the appliance.

• Keep the humidifier out of the reach of children. Do not permit children to play with the appliance.

• Before using the appliance, unwind the cord and verify that it is not damaged. Do not use the appliance if the cord is damage.

• Do not plug or unplug the appliance with wet hands.

• Never dismantle the basic unit.

• Never operate an appliance with a defective plug or cord, or after a breakdown or damage of any kind. In these cases, return the appliance to the nearest approved dealer/repairer for verification and any necessary repairs or adjustments.

• Never add alkaline substances in the water tank.

• Do not shake the appliance. This could spill water into the base unit and affect its operation.

• Do not leave the humidifier in the sun for a long period.

• If an unusual odour occurs during normal use, turn off the appliance, unplug it and have it checked by a qualified person.

• Unplug the appliance before cleaning it or removing the tank.

• Never touch the water or the immersed components when the appliance is in operation.

• Never turn on the humidifier when there is no water in the tank.

• Never scratch the transducer.

• To prevent any damage to the components, do not allow water to splash inside the base unit.

• Never wash the entire unit with water; do not immerse it.

• The ultrasonic humidifier should be cleaned regularly. To do this, refer to the cleaning instructions in this manual and respect them.

• Do not use the humidifier if the air in the room is already sufficiently moist (at least 50 percent relative humidity). Excessive humidity gives rise to condensation on cold surfaces or cold walls in the room. To correctly assess the rate of humidity in the room, use a hygrometer available in most hardware and department stores.

• If the power cord is damaged, replace it with an identical or similar cordon available from the supplier or his service department.

• This appliance is not designed to be used by people (including children) whose physical, sensory or mental capacities are diminished, or who are without experience or knowledge, unless they have the benefit, through a person responsible for their safety, of supervision or prior instruction concerning the use of the appliance. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the humidifier. Charly 3EN ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CONCERNING THE USE OF ESSENTIAL OILS

• The humidifier is fitted with a container for essential oils (oils not provided). Before using essential oils, check for the negative effects on health which may result from the use of such oils.

• Always choose essential oils of good quality: they should be pure, 100% natural and designed for use in diffusers. Use them in moderation and with care. Follow the recommendations and warnings indicated on the packaging of the essential oils and take care in particular to note that: - The use of essential oils is not permitted for pregnant women or for persons suffering from epilepsy, asthma or allergies, or persons with heart problems or serious illness. - In the bedroom of a baby (less than 3 years old), essential oils should not be used more than once a day, not for more than 10 minutes and not when the baby is present in the room.

• Make sure that children and minors do not play with or use the appliance.

• A few drops (no more than 3 or 4) of essential oil suffice to ensure correct operation of the appliance and the diffusion of perfume. Using too much oil can damage the machine.

• Oils should only be placed in the container provided for the purpose.

• Never pour essential oils directly into your humidifier’s water tank: this may damage the machine beyond repair.

• Lanaform ® cannot be held liable for accidental damage resulting from any use not in accordance with the present Instructions. COMPONENTS

• Place the appliance in the room for half an hour before switching it on, so that it reaches the ambient temperature.

• We recommend using the appliance in a temperature between 5 and 40 °C and a relative humidity of less than 50%.

• Remove the water tank from the appliance, unscrew the cap by turning it counter clockwise.

• Fill the water tank with clean water at 40°C maximum. Check that the silicon ring is in place and close the cover.

• Check that it is clean and watertight and then gently put the water tank back on the base.

• With dry hands, connect the plug and turn the appliance on by turning the "stop/start" button to the right. The main warning light comes on and the appliance starts running. Adjust the mist intensity as required by turning this same button.

HOW TO USE AROMATIC OILS

To nebulise aromatic oils in the room, use only the oil container supplied with the equipment. WARNING Do not use any aromatic oils directly into water tank.it could permanently damage the equipment. ALTHOUGH THE SAFETY DEVICE STOPS THE OPERATION OF THE TRANSDUCER, AVOID LEAVING THE APPLIANCE PLUGGED IN WHENEVER POSSIBLE. DO NOT PLUG IN OR UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE WITH WET HANDS. Charly 5EN

MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE

If the water is hard, meaning that it contains too much calcium and magnesium, it may leave a white powder in the appliance and cause scum to form at the surface of the tank, on the transducer (metal disc producing the ultrasonic waves), and on the inside walls of the water tank. Scum on the surface of the transducer will prevent the appliance from operating properly. We recommend

• Using clean, fresh, boiled and cooled water or distilled or demineralised water each time the appliance is used,

• Cleaning the tank every three days, cleaning the transducer every week,

• Changing the water in the tank often so that it stays fresh – don't leave it for more than two days,

• Cleaning the whole appliance and ascertaining that all the components are perfectly dry when it is not in use. To clean the transducer Put 2 to 5 drops of vinegar on the surface and leave it from 2 to 5 minutes. Brush the scum from the surface with a soft brush. Do not use a hard tool or scratch the surface. Rinse the transducer with clean water. Do not use soap or other alkaline substances to clean the transducer. To clean the tank Clean the water tank with a soft cloth and vinegar if there is foam OR a calcium deposit in it. If foam covers the safety switch, put a few drops of vinegar on it and clean it with the brush. Rinse the tank with clean water. Storage Clean and dry the ultrasonic humidifier carefully, complying with the maintenance instructions. Let it dry completely before storing it. Do not store with water in the base. Store the appliance in a dry cool place, out of the reach of children.

ADVICE REGARDING THE DISPOSAL OF WASTE

• All the packaging is composed of materials that pose no hazard for the environment and which can be disposed of at your local sorting centre to be used as secondary raw materials. The cardboard may be disposed of in a paper recycling bin. The packaging film must be taken to your local sorting and recycling centre.

• When you have finished using the device, please dispose of it in an environmentally friendly way and in accordance with the law. LIMITED WARRANTY LANAFORM® guarantees that this product is free from any defects in materials and any manufacturing defect. This guarantee is effective for two years as from the date of purchase, except in the following cases: This warranty on a LANAFORM® product does not cover damage resulting from inappropriate or excessive use, accident, the use of prohibited accessories, a modification of the product or any other circumstance beyond the control of LANAFORM®. LANAFORM® cannot be held liable for any type of unforeseeable, consequential or special damage. All warranties on well-being products are limited to a total duration of two years as from the date of purchase. On reception, LANAFORM® will repair or replace your ultrasonic humidifier, as the case may be, and will return it to you carriage paid. Only a LANAFORM® Service Centre is authorized to implement the guarantee. Any maintenance of this product by any person other than a LANAFORM® Service Centre voids the guarantee. Charly 7FR
