How to use the defrosting (DEFROST) function?

Insert the frozen bread, select the toasting level, lower the lever, then press the DEFROST button to activate defrosting. The cycle stops automatically.

How to reheat already toasted bread?

Place the toast in the slots, lower the lever, then press the REHEAT button. The appliance will warm the bread without further toasting. Do not reheat buttered or topped bread.

What to do if a slice of bread gets stuck in the toaster?

Unplug the appliance and let it cool completely. Gently remove the bread carefully without using metal objects to avoid damaging the heating elements.

How to clean the crumb tray?

Unplug the toaster and wait for it to cool. Remove the crumb tray, empty the crumbs and clean it with a slightly damp cloth if necessary. Put it back in place before the next use.

Can I use aluminum foil or metal utensils in the toaster?

No, never place metal foil, metal tools or plastic wrappers in the slots. This can cause a fire or damage the appliance.

How to use the bun warmer accessory?

Press the lever to eject the accessory, place the buns on the support, select a medium toasting level and lower the control lever. Turn them occasionally for even results. Never place buns directly on the slots.

Why does my toaster emit smoke or smell during first use?

This is normal. Before first use, run the appliance empty for about 10 minutes in a well-ventilated room. The smoke and smell will disappear after a few cycles.

How to achieve perfect browning?

Adapt the browning level to the freshness of the bread: use a lower setting for dry bread, a higher setting for wholemeal or fresh bread. For a single slice, place it in the center and choose a low level.

Can I leave the toaster unattended while it is operating?

No, never leave the appliance unattended while in use. It can overheat or the bread can burn, posing a fire risk.

What to do if the power cord is damaged?

A damaged cord must be replaced only by an approved after-sales service to avoid any danger. Do not try to repair it yourself.

21. Then remove the stuck slice from the toaster.

22. Do not use any metal objects for this and avoid any contact with the internal metal parts of the toaster.

23. Risk of fire and electrical shock! Do not put any large slices of bread, metal foil, or metal tools into the toaster.

24. Never cover the toaster while it is in operation - it could overheat and catch fire.
25. Never toast bread with toppings or filling in order to prevent the filling from dripping and igniting.
26. Never wrap the bread when you warm it on the roll attachment. Plastic wrap melts and can ignite. Aluminium foil reflects the heat and leads to damage of the toaster.
27. If the toaster begins to smoke, stop it immediately and pull the plug.
28. Never operate the toaster without the crumb tray.

Intended use

This product is suitable for toasting bread only. The roll attachment is intended only for crisping up rolls or croissants. Any other use can lead to damage to the device or injuries. Before first use

Operate the product for few cycles or about 10 minutes without bread in a properly ventilated room. Please ensure for sufficient ventilation, as this may lead to slight smell and smoke, but this is normal and will disappear after a short time.

Do not dispose of this appliance as unsorted municipal waste. Return it to a designated collection point for

Toasting bread

Fig. 1 Adjust the right length of the power cord and lead the cord out at the side of the toaster. Connect the plug to a suitable power outlet.

Caution

Risk of burning hazard when not using typical bread for toasting. Due to smaller size or shape there is a risk of touching hot parts when taking out the toasted bread.

Note

The toasting is dependent on the type of bread. Levels 3 and 4 generally result in a gold-brown.

Note

Should a slice of toast become trapped in the bread slot, unplug the toaster and let it cool down. Remove the toast carefully without touching the heating elements.

Follow the steps 1-4 in the chapter Toasting bread.

Note

Do not warm up any toast bread which has butter or any spreads on it.

Using roll attachment

Use only the integrated roll attachment.

Fig. 11 Select a medium toasting level with the selector and press the control lever downwards. Turn the rolls occasionally.

Caution

In order to prevent damages to the product, never lay the rolls directly on the bread slots.

Clean crumb tray

Regularly remove the crumb tray from the product and remove the crumbs.

Fig. 12 Unplug and let the toaster cool down. Pull out the crumb tray and remove the crumbs. Wipe the crumb tray with a slightly damp cloth if there are heavy stains. Re-insert the crumb tray.

Caution

Never use the toaster without the crumb tray.

Note

Be sure to re-insert the crumb tray into the device properly.

Cleaning and care

Fig. 13 Prior to cleaning, pull the power plug out of the power outlet. Wait until the device has completely cooled off. Clean the exterior surfaces of the housing with a slightly damp cloth.

Caution

Never immerse electrical parts of the device in water during cleaning or operation. Never hold the device under running water. Never use solvents and abrasives, hard brushes, metallic or sharp objects for cleaning. Solvents are harmful to health and attack the plastic parts. Abrasive cleaners and tools do scratch the surface.

Storage

Fig. 14 Wrap the power cord around the cord stem as indicated on the underside of the toaster. Store the toaster in a dry, cool area which is protected from humidity.

The best tasting result

1. Depending on the moisture content of the bread, the degree of roasting should be adjusted. Choose a lower level for dry bread.

2. Choose a higher level for whole grain bread, fresh bread or loaves with an uneven surface.

3. If only toasting one bread slice, place it centrally in the toaster and select a lower degree of toasting.

4. Please note that the toast result will be darker if the toasting is repeated several times without cooling.
