Do not install the Wall-Mount Bracket on wall surfaces where the corners or the sides of the TV protrude away from the wall surface.

Do not install the Wall-Mount Bracket on wall surfaces such as a pillar, where the corners or the sides of the TV protrude away from the wall surface. If a person or object happens to hit the protruded corner or side of the TV, it may cause injury or property damage.

Do not install the TV over or under an air conditioner.

If the TV is exposed to water leaks or air current from an air conditioner for a long time, it may cause a fire, an electric shock, or a malfunction of the TV.

Be sure to install the Wall-Mount Bracket securely to the wall following the instructions in this instruction manual.

If any of the screws are loose or fall out, the Wall-Mount Bracket may fall and cause injury or property damage. Be sure to use the appropriate screws for the material of the wall and install the unit securely using four or more screws of 8 mm diameter (or equivalent).

Be sure to use the supplied screws and attachment parts properly following the instructions given in this instruction manual. If you use substitute items, the TV may fall and cause bodily injury to someone or damage to the TV.

Installing the TV onto the wall

Installation procedure differs, depending on your TV.

Use the Wall-Mount Bracket SU-WL450 to install the TV to the wall.

Note

• If the Table-Top Stand is attached to the TV, detach the Table-Top Stand beforehand. See the Setup Guide and follow in reverse order the steps to detach the Table-Top Stand.
• Place the TV with its screen facing down on a level and stable surface covered with a thick and soft cloth, when securing the Attachment parts for Wall-Mount Bracket or when removing the Table-Top Stand from the TV to prevent damaging the surface of the LCD display.
• Be sure to store the removed screws in a safe place, keeping them away from children.

Preparing for installation

• Have the TV's Reference Guide and Setup Guide at hand before installation.
• Be sure to have a Phillips screwdriver that fits the screws prior to the assembly.
• Confirm the installing position of your TV.
• Prepare four or more screws of 8 mm diameter and one screw of 5 mm or equivalent (not supplied). Select screws suitable for the material of the wall.

Deciding on the installation location

1 Decide on the installation location.

Make sure that the wall has enough space for the TV and is capable of supporting a weight of at least four times that of the TV.

Refer to the following table on installing the TV to the wall. Refer to your TV's Reference Guide for the TV's weight.

• When your TV is installed on the wall, the upper side of the TV slightly leans forward.

Allow for suitable clearance between the TV and the ceiling and protruding parts of the wall as shown below.

To ensure proper ventilation and prevent the collection of dirt or dust:

Do not lay the TV set flat, install upside down, backwards, or sideways. - Do not place the TV set on a shelf, rug, bed or in a closet. - Do not cover the TV set with a cloth, such as curtains, or items such as newspapers, etc. - Do not install the TV set as shown below.

• If you intend to route the cables in the wall, make a hole in the wall to insert the cables before beginning the installation.

To prevent pinching the cables, prepare a hole in the wall somewhere outside the perimeter of the Base (20) A, Base Adaptor 1 and Spacer (20) E, Spacer (60) K.

2 Select Wall mounting style. It is selectable as shown below.

4 Decide the positions of the screws for installing the Base (20) A.

Refer to the specifications on page 12. When selecting 2-a, please use the hole positions of Base Adaptor ①

WARNING

The wall that the TV will be mounted on should be able to support a weight of at least four times that of the TV (Refer to your TV's Reference Guide for its weight.). - Determine the strength of the wall the TV will be mounted on. Reinforce the wall sufficiently, if necessary.

Installing the Base on the wall

• Use four or more screws of 8 mm diameter or equivalent (not supplied).
• Fit four screws to the holes of Base Adaptor ① with Base (20) A (2-a only). Install the Base (20) A on the wall horizontally.

Preparing for the installation of the TV

Refer to the Setup Guide for stand installation.

1 Detach the Table-Top Stand from the TV.

Note

Make sure to place the TV on a soft cloth to prevent damaging the display's surface. - When installing the Wall-Mount Bracket, do not use the screws removed from the Table-Top Stand. - Be sure to store the removed Table-top Stand and its screws in a safe place, keeping them away from children. You will need them if you want to use the TV on a table in the future. The Table-Top Stand cannot be purchased separately.

WARNING

• Be sure the TV is in the vertical position before switching it on. The TV set must not be powered on with the LCD panel face down to avoid uneven picture uniformity. If pressure or shock is applied to the surface of the TV, the TV may break or become damaged.
• Lay the TV face down on a stable and level surface with the Table-Top Stand hanging over the edge of the surface. Having the TV face and the base of the Table-Top Stand on the same level surface will create an unstable working condition and can damage the TV.
• When detaching the Table-Top Stand from the TV, hold the Table-Top Stand securely.

2 Attach the Attachment parts for Wall-Mount Bracket. Check the Attachment parts by referring to "Supplied with SU-WL450" in "Checking the parts" on page 5.

• Firmly secure the Attachment parts using screws.
• When using an electric screwdriver, set the torque setting to approximately 1.5 N·m {15 kgf·cm}.
• Be sure to store the used or unused parts in a safe place for future use. Retain this manual for future reference.

Note

• You cannot use some of the terminals on the rear of the TV when using this mounting style.

3 Connect the necessary cable(s) to the TV.

Make sure to connect the cables before installing the TV on the wall. You will be unable to connect the cables when the TV is installed.

Refer to the Reference Guide supplied with your TV.

• Subcontract the cable routing in the wall to a licensed contractor.
• Bundle the connecting cables to prevent stepping on them before wall mounting.

Installing the TV on the wall

1. Install the TV onto the Base or Base Adaptor.

• For the location of the Pulleys (B) to hang on the Base or Base Adaptor, refer to the table of step 3 in "Deciding on the installation location" on page 7.
• Gently slide down the TV and hang the Pulleys (B) attached to the rear of the TV to the Base or Base Adaptor, making sure to confirm the shape of the holes. After installing the TV on the wall, confirm the Pulleys (B) are firmly latched into the Base or Base Adaptor.
• Release both hands slowly to ensure that the TV does not fall.

WARNING

• Be sure that two or more persons (three or more persons for 75 inches and above TV set) hold the TV when carrying it.

2. Preventing the bottom of the TV from shifting.

Take up the slack of Belt F and attach it to the wall tightly.

2-a 2-b

• Use a 5mm diameter screw or equivalent (not supplied).

Note

Try to pull the bottom of the TV towards yourself slightly, to make sure that it does not move forward. If there is any movement, it is not fixed correctly, and the Belt should be secured firmly again.

Confirming the completion of the installation

Check the following points.

• The Pulleys (B) are firmly hung onto the Base or Base Adaptor.
• The cord and the cable are not twisted or pinched.
• The Belt (F) is tight with no slack.

WARNING

• Improper placement of the mains lead, etc., may cause fire or electric shock through a short circuit. Be sure to confirm the completion of the installation for safety.

Other information

When removing the TV, reverse the previous installation procedure.

Determining the mounting location

1 Select the mounting location.

Ensure that the wall has sufficient space for the TV and is strong enough to support its weight, which is more than four times the TV's weight. Refer to the wall mounting table. Refer to the TV's setup guide for its weight.

Determine the locations of the screws for mounting on the base (20) A.

See the specifications on page 12.

When you select 2-a, use the holes for the adapter on the base ①.

• Use four or more screws with a diameter of 8 mm or equivalent (not supplied). Secure the four screws in the holes of the adapter on the base ① with the base (20) A (see 2-a).
• Mount the base (20) A horizontally on the wall.

Preparation for mounting the TV

Follow the mounting instructions in the setup guide.

1. Remove the packaging from the TV.

• Make sure to place the TV on the wall mount to prevent damage to the surface. When mounting the wall mount bracket, do not use the screws supplied with the mass. The mass supply is equipped with safety screws, adjusted by the device. They will be used to mount the TV on the mass in the future. The mass supply cannot be purchased separately.

WARNING

Before installing the TV, make sure it is in a vertical position. The TV should not be placed in a location with LCD panel, exposed to direct sunlight, to avoid unevenness of the picture. If the surface of the TV is subjected to pressure or impact, it may be damaged. Place the TV with the screen facing down on a stable and flat surface, with the mass supply placed on the surface. If the TV and the base of the mass supply are at the same level, this will lead to unstable conditions and may damage the TV. When removing the mass supply from the TV, hold the mass supply firmly.

Check the wall mount bracket parts. Verify the parts by comparing with "Supplied with SU-WL450" in "Parts Check" on page 5.

Secure the wall mount bracket with screws. When using an electric screwdriver, set the tightening torque to approximately 1.5 N·m {15 kgf·cm}. Store the used and unused parts in a safe place for future use. Keep the manual for future reference.

If you use the mounting method, you cannot use any of the terminals on the back of the TV.

Connect the necessary cables to the TV.

Make sure you have connected the cables before mounting the TV on the wall. If you need to connect them, do so after the TV is mounted. See the instruction manual supplied with your TV.

Have the cable routing in the wall done by a qualified installer. Connect the cables so that they do not interfere with the wall installation.

Wall Mounting the TV

1 Mount the TV onto the base stand plate.

For the location of the brackets ⑧ for securing to the base stand plate, see the table in the "Determining the mounting position" section on page 7. Carefully lift the TV and attach the brackets to the corresponding side of the TV, securing them to the base stand plate, while checking the alignment of the holes. After mounting the TV, verify that the brackets are correctly secured to the base and the stand plate. It is important to follow the instructions to ensure the TV is stable.

2 Adjusting the tilt of the lower part of the TV.

• Secure the strap F and attach it to the wall.

• Use a screw with a diameter of 5 mm or its equivalent (not supplied).

Application

Gently pull the TV towards you to make sure it does not tilt forward. If there is a slight tilt, the TV is not secured properly, and strap F should be attached lower.

• The hooks ⑧ are securely attached to the base or the base adapter.
• The cord and cable are not twisted or pinched.
• Strap F is securely attached without slack.

Installing the TV on the wall

The installation procedure depends on the TV model.

To install the TV on the wall, use the bracket for partial mounting SU-WL450.

Stand

The stand is partially attached to the TV; remove it. Follow the instructions and perform the steps in reverse order to remove the stand. - To avoid damaging the panel during installation of the bracket elements or removal of the stand, place the TV with the screen down on a flat, soft surface covered with thick cloth. Keep the removed parts in a safe place.

• Before installation, carefully read the manual and the instructions for the TV.

1 Installation of the stand.

• The cord and cable are not crossed or pinched.
• The F connector is closed without gaps.

WARNING

• Incorrect placement of the power cord with alternating current can cause interference or electric shock due to a short circuit. For safety reasons, be sure to check everything after installation is complete.

Secure the basic (PSW 4x10) cable with brackets when using 2-a routing for the basic (20) A.

4 Determine the bracket positions for the basic (20) A routing.

Refer to the diagrams on page 12. When using 2-a routing, secure the basic cable as shown in ①.

NOTE

When routing cables, refer to the cable bending radius and the minimum distance to the cable tray (see the cable manufacturer's instructions for the minimum bending radius).

Determine the tightness of the cable routing. If necessary, tighten the cable routing.

Cable routing method

- Diameter 8 MM. Do not use the drill bits that are not sharpened (discard them). ① The sharpened drill bits (20) must be installed in the base (see Fig. 2-a). Install the base (20) by aligning it with the hole.

Adjusting the television

Before installation, check the wall.

1. Insert the television mounting screws.

Note

- To prevent the television from falling, place it on a soft surface and move it to the desired location. During installation, remove the screws that were installed in the hole. After removing the screws, keep them and the other parts in a safe place. If the television is moved and the screws are removed, they will be needed. The screws must be kept for later use.

CAUTION

The television must be installed on a flat surface. To prevent the television from tipping over, the television must be secured with the included screws. If the television is not secured, it may tip over or fall. Do not place the television on an unstable surface. If the television is not properly secured, it may fall and cause injury. - After removing the screws from the television, install the screws in the correct position.

2. For installation in the hole, use the included screws. Refer to the "SU-WL450" section in the "Screws" section of the manual for the screws.

- Install the screws using the included drill bits. When drilling, drill to a depth of 15 cm. - If the screws are not installed or are not installed correctly, the television may fall. Check the screws for safety.

Before starting installation, it is necessary to familiarize yourself with some terms used in this manual.

Connect the cables to the devices.

Before placing the devices, check the cables. After placing the devices, the cables should not be pulled. See the instructions for connecting the devices.

Connection

To connect the cables, you must have a license for the appropriate connectors. Before connecting the cables, check the cable channels to avoid damaging them.

Placing the devices in the rack

1 Place the devices on the base or on the base plates.

For the screws on the base or base plates, see step 3 in the "Identifying the mounting location" section on page 7-8. - Lift the devices and place them on the base or base plates, aligning the screws. After placing the devices in the rack, tighten the screws. To prevent the devices from falling, hold them with both hands.

NOTE

After installing the devices, check that they are secure with one or more people (for devices weighing more than 75 kg, use three or more people).

2 Do not lift the devices by the handles.

• Take the handle and try to attach it to the rack.

Installation procedure

Check the connections.

Make sure the device is properly grounded. - Do not touch the lamp or cable with wet hands. - The ground (F) must be connected.

WARNING

Do not use the device if the power cord or plug is damaged. Do not operate the device in wet or damp conditions. Keep the device away from flammable materials.

Follow the installation procedure described in the manual.

WARNING

Do not install more than one lamp (75W max) or a lamp of higher wattage than specified. Use only the recommended lamp type.
