1 APPLIANCE

This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety. Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.

This practical electric Powerplus cultivator makes the soil in your vegetable garden ready for sowing and planting. With its lightweight the 1050 W cultivator is ideal for small surfaces. The 6 knives and maximal working width of 320mm make cultivating seed and flower beds very easy. You dig up weeds or mix fertilisers or compost into the soil. Ready for a new season and this without manually shovelling. The soft grip and sturdy guiding wheels enable you working in a comfortable way.

It is recommended to buy an additional extension cable, in order to reach every corner of your garden. Clean the air vents after each use.

WARNING! Read this manual and general safety instructions carefully before using the appliance, for your own safety. Your power tool should only be passed on together with these instructions.

3 PACKAGE CONTENT LIST

• Remove all packing materials
• Remove remaining packaging and transit supports (if existing)

5 GENERAL POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS

Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow all warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains operated (cored) power tool or battery operated (cordless) power tool.

5.1 Work area

• Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.
• Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
• Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

5.2 Electrical safety

Always check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.

• Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
• Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
• Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
• Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
• When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
• If operating a power tool in a damp location is unavoidable, use a residual current device (RCD) protected supply. Use of an RCD reduces the risk of electric shock.

5.3 Personal safety

• Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention while operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.
• Use safety equipment. Always wear eye protection. Safety equipment such as dust mask, non-skid safety shoes, hard hat, or hearing protection used whenever conditions require will reduce personal injuries.
• Avoid accidental starting. Ensure the switch is in the off position before plugging in. Carrying power tools with your finger on the switch or plugging in power tools that have the switch on invites accidents.
• Remove any adjusting key or wrench before turning the power tool on. A wrench or a key left attached to a rotating part of the power tool may result in personal injury.
• Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations.
• Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewelry. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewelry or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

If devices are provided for the connection of dust extraction and collection facilities, ensure these are connected and properly used. Use of these devices can reduce dust related hazards.

5.4 Power tool use and care

• Do not force the power tool. Use the correct power tool for your application. The correct power tool will do the job better and safer at the rate for which it was designed.
• Do not use the power tool if the switch does not turn it on and off. Any power tool that cannot be controlled with the switch is dangerous and must be repaired.
• Disconnect the plug from the power source before making any adjustments, changing accessories, or storing power tools. Such preventive safety measures reduce the risk of starting the power tool accidentally.
• Store idle power tools out of the reach of children and do not allow persons unfamiliar with the power tool or these instructions to operate the power tool. Power tools are dangerous in the hands of untrained users.
• Maintain power tools. Check for misalignment or sticking of moving parts, breakage of parts and any other condition that may affect the power tool's operation. If damaged, have the power tool repaired before use. Many accidents are caused by poorly maintained power tools.
• Keep cutting tools sharp and clean. Properly maintained cutting tools with sharp cutting edges are less likely to stick and are easier to control.
• Use the power tool, accessories and tool bits etc., in accordance with these instructions and in the manner intended for the particular type of power tool, taking into account the working conditions and the work to be performed. Use of the power tool for operations different from intended could lead to a hazardous situation.

5.5 Service

• Have your power tool serviced by a qualified repair person using only identical replacement parts. This will ensure that the safety of the power tool is maintained.

6 ADDITIONAL SAFETY WARNINGS FOR TILLERS

6.1 Before operation

• Before use, all foreign bodies must be removed from the lawn, also pay attention to foreign bodies during the operation.
• Only work in daylight or sufficiently good artificial light.
• Wear eye protection and face or dust mask if operating in dusty conditions.

• Dress properly. Wear the following clothing while using the application:

• Use of rubber gloves and substantial footwear is recommended.

• Wear protective hair covering to contain long hair.
• Avoid wearing loose clothing or jewelry that could get caught in the rotating tines.

6.2 Proper use

The user is responsible for third parties while working with the appliance.

• Do not operate the application near underground electric cables, telephone lines, pipes or hoses.
  Before inserting the plug in the mains socket, make sure that the socket ratings are correct and correspond to those indicated on the rating label on the appliance.
• The use of the appliance is only permitted if the safety distance provided by the guide bar is complied with.
• Do not operate the application on a slope that is too steep for safe operation. When on slopes, slow down and make sure you have good footing.
• Before starting the application, make sure tines are not touching foreign objects and must be completely free to move.
• Grip guide bar firmly with both hands. Never operate the application with one hand.

• Be aware that the application may unexpectedly bounce upward or jump forward if the tines should strike extremely hard, packed soil, frozen ground, or buried obstacles such as large stones, roots or stumps.
• Do not put hands, feet or any body part or clothing in the vicinity of rotating tines. Caution! Risk of injury!
• Only guide the appliance at walking pace. Do not over reach. Maintain proper footing and balance at all times.
• Be aware of extension cord while operation. Be careful not to trip over cord. Always guide the cord away from tines at all times.
• If the appliance strikes a foreign body, examine the application for signs of damage and carry out any necessary repairs before restarting and continuing to work.
• If the appliance should start to vibrate abnormally, switch off the motor and check for the cause immediately. Vibration is generally a warning of trouble.
• Holding the guide bar and lift the application to move it from one place to another.
• Always switch off the appliance, disconnect the plug and wait until the application stops before carrying out maintenance or cleaning work. Caution! Tines do not stop immediately after switching off.
• Use caution when cleaning or performing maintenance on the appliance. DANGER! Watch your fingers! Wear gloves!
• It is forbidden to move or modify any of the electrical and mechanical safety devices.

6.3 Electrical safety

• The mains voltage must correspond to the one marked on the technical data plate (230 V~50 Hz). Do not use other sources of power.
• The use of a safety circuit-breaker is recommended for the power supply line for an intervention range of 10 to 30 rated mA. Consult a reliable electrician.
• Never pass the appliance over the extension cable that the application is working, as this could cut the cable. Mark sure you always know where the cable is.
• Use the special cable holder for the connection of the extension cable.
• Never use the appliance when it is raining. Try to prevent it from getting wet or being exposed to humidity. Do not leave it outside overnight. Do not cut damp or wet grass.
• The power supply cable should be checked regularly and before using it each time, make sure the cable is not damaged or old out. If the cable is not in good condition, do not use the appliance; take it to an authorized service center instead.
• Only use an extension cable that is suitable for outdoor work. Keep it away from the cutting area, from damp, wet or oily surfaces or with sharp edges and away from heat and fuels.
• The mobile socket of the extension cable should be splash proof in compliance with DIN 57282 and VDE 0282 regulations; the cross-section of the wire (max. length 75m ) should be at least 1.5mm^2 . Use H07RN-F harmonized cable.

7 GUIDELINES FOR USING EXTENSION CORDS

• Make sure the extension cord is in good condition. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one that is heavy enough to carry the current that your product will draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage, which will result in loss of power and overheating.
• Make sure your extension cord is properly wired and in good condition. Always replace a damaged extension cord, or have it repaired by a qualified person before using it. Protect your extension cords from sharp objects, excessive heat, and damp or wet areas.
• Before connecting the motor to the power line, make sure the switch is in the OFF position and the electric current is rated the same as the current stamped on the motor nameplate. Running at a lower voltage will damage the motor.

This tool must be grounded while in use in order to protect the operator from electric shock.

8 ASSEMBLY

This product must be assembled correctly before use.

1. Insert the lower handle section to motor housing and fix it by two supplied screws M4x16 (Fig. 1-1)
2. Attach the center handle section to the lower handle sections using the two supplied M6x45 bolts and wing nuts. (Fig. 1-2)
3. Fasten the upper handle section to the center handle section using the two supplied M6x45 bolts and wing nuts. (Fig. 1-3)
4. Use the two supplied cable clips to secure the cord. (Fig. 1-4)

9 OPERATION

9.1 Double insulation

The tiller has double insulation. This means that all external metal parts are insulated from the electrical supply.

This is achieved by introducing an insulation layer between electrical and mechanical parts. The double insulation guarantees you the greatest possible safety.

9.2 Overheat protection

If the application is blocked by a foreign object or if the motor is overloaded, the motor will switch off automatically by the protection device. Release the trigger lever and wait till the motor cool down (approx. 15 minutes) then start application again.

9.3 Connection the mains (Fig. 2)

Plug the appliance connection line into the safety switch/trigger lever combination and secure it with the cable relief.

The loop of the mains wire must be long enough for the cable relief to be able to slide from one side to the other.

9.4 Starting up (Fig. 3)

• Press the safety lock button A of the switch/ trigger lever combination and then pull the trigger lever B against the bar. The motor will start and the tines will begin to rotate.
• Keep the trigger lever hold while release the safety lock button.
• To stop the appliance, release the trigger lever and it automatically returns to its start position.

9.5 Tips

• Move the application to the work area prior to starting the motor.
• Hold the application firmly while switch on.
• The tines will pull the tiller forward during operation, press the carrying handle to lower the tines slowly.
• By pulling tiller back towards yourself, the tines will dig deeper and more aggressively.
• For breaking sod or deep tilling, allow the tines to pull the tiller forward to the end of your arm's reach, then firmly pull the tiller back towards you. By repeatedly allowing the tiller to move forward and then pulling back to you, the tiller will be most effective.
  If the tiller digs deep enough to stay in one spot, gently rock the tiller side to side to start the tiller moving forward again.
• For preparing seed bed, we recommend using one of the tilling patterns shown in Fig. 4:
• Tilling Pattern A - Make two passes over area to be tilled, the second at a right angle to the first.
• Tilling Pattern B - Make two passes over area to be tilled, the second overlapping the first.

• To prevent tripping take particular care when moving backwards and when pulling the tiller.

10 TRANSPORT

Warning! Before transporting the application, switch off the motor.

The tines and the unit maybe damaged even if you move the application with the motor switched off, e.g. over solid ground. Prevent the tines from touching the ground by carrying out the tiller by its guide bar.

10.1 Clearing tines of foreign objects

During operation, a stone or root could become lodged in the tines, or tall grass or weeds may become wrapped around the fine shaft.

To clear the tines, release the trigger lever. Unplug the tiller, and dislodge or remove any obstacles from the tines or fine shaft.

To ease removal of tall grass or weeds that are wrapped around the tine shaft, remove one or more of the tines from the tine shaft. See Tine Removal and Installation in the manual

11 CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE

Warning! Before performing any work on the equipment, pull the power plug.

11.1 Prior to each time the application is used

• Check the connecting cable for signs of damage or ageing. Replace the cable if it is cracked, split or otherwise damaged.
• Check the condition of the cutting cylinder, and ensure that all threaded connections are securely tightened.
• If the tines are blunt, take it to a specialist workshop for repair if necessary.

11.2 Once per season

• Lubricate the tines and shaft.
• At the end of the season, have the application checked and serviced in a specialist workshop.

Warning! Always clean the application after use. Failure to carry out proper cleaning can result in damage to the application or cause it to malfunction.

Whenever possible, clean the application straight after you have finished working on the lawn.

• Clean the underside of the housing around the tines and the protective shield and fender with a scrubbing brush, and brush or soft cloth dampened with a mild soap and water mixture. Never splash with water!
• To remove soil and debris from the tines and transmission, use a stiff brush or a dampened cloth.
• Clean the ventilator, and remove any remaining grass or dirt.
• Once cleaned, wipe the tine and shaft dry and apply a light coat of oil.

11.3 Tines Removal and Installation (Fig. 5)

Worn tines invites poor performance and overload of motor.

Check before each use the tines situation. Sharpen or replace the tines with new one when necessary. It is recommended to let this be done by a specialist.

Caution! Disconnect the mains and wear protective gloves.

To remove the complete tines from the shaft:

• To remove the complete tine assemblies from the shaft, remove the M8x40 hex head bolt from the shaft.
  Take off the outer tire set from shaft.
• Reverse above steps to install tines.

11.4 Change tines from bracket

When one or two pieces of tine broken, it is necessary to change the damaged tine instead of complete tine set.

• Loosen the screws from one side while hold the lock nuts from other side.
  Take off the damaged line and replace with the new one.

11.5 Checking transmission lubricant (Fig. 6)

Drain screw plug is located on the right side of transmission housing.

• Lay the tiller on its left side and clean the transmission to prevent dirt and debris before remove the drain screw.
• Using a hex key 8 mm to unscrew the plug and empty the oil from the transmission.
• Fill up by using a grease gun with a high-quality, automotive-grade grease until it begins to seep out around the edge of the hole of the nozzle.
  If necessary, disassemble tines.
• Reinstall the drain screw plug.

12 STORAGE

The tiller should be stored in a dry and clean room and out of reach of children.

During extended periods of storage, during the winter for example, ensure that the application is protected against corrosion and frost.

At the end of the season, or if the application is not to be used for longer than a month:

Clean the application.
- Wipe over all metal surfaces with an oil-impregnated cloth to protect them from corrosion (non-resinous oil), or spray a fine coat of oil onto them from a can.
- Fold the guide bar down, and store it in a suitable place.

13 TROUBLE SHOOTING

This product is warranted as provided by law for a 24 -month period effective from the date of purchase by the first user.
- This warranty covers all material or production flaws excluding : batteries, chargers, defective parts subject to normal wear & tear such as bearings, brushes, cables, and plugs, or accessories such as drills, drill bits, saw blades, etc. ; damage or defects resulting from maltreatment, accidents or alterations; nor the cost of transportation.
- Damage and/or defects resulting from inappropriate use also do not fall under the warranty provisions.
We also disclaim all liability for any bodily injury resulting from inappropriate use of the tool.
- Repairs may only be carried out by an authorised customer service centre for Powerplus tools.
- You can always obtain more information at the number 00 32 3 292 92 90.
- Any transportation costs shall always be borne by the customer, unless agreed otherwise in writing.
- At the same time, no claim can be made on the warranty if the damage of the device is the result of negligent maintenance or overload.
- Definitely excluded from the warranty is damage resulting from fluid permeation, excessive dust penetration, intentional damage (on purpose or by gross carelessness), inappropriate usage (use for purposes for which the device is not suitable), incompetent usage (e.g. not following the instructions given in the manual), inexpert assembly, lightning strike, erroneous net voltage. This list is not exhaustive.
- Acceptance of claims under warranty can never lead to the prolongation of the warranty period nor commencement of a new warranty period in case of a device replacement.
Devices or parts which are replaced under the warranty therefore remain the property of Varo NV.
- We reserve the right to reject a claim whenever the purchase cannot be verified or when it is clear that the product has not been properly maintained. (Clean ventilation slots, carbon brushes serviced regularly, etc.).
- Your purchase receipt must be kept as proof of date of purchase.
- Your appliance must be returned undismantled to your dealer in an acceptably clean state, (in its original blow-moulded case if applicable to the unit), accompanied by proof of purchase.

17 ENVIRONMENT

Should your appliance need replacement after extended use, do not discard it with the household rubbish but dispose of it in an environmentally safe way. Waste produced by electrical machine items should not be handled like normal household rubbish. Please recycle where recycle facilities exist. Check with your Local Authority or retailer for recycling advice.

5 OPŠTA BEZBEDNOSNA UPUTSTVA ZA ELEKTRICNE ALATE

Pročitajte sva bezbednosna upozorenja i sva uputstva. Ako se ne pridržavate svih upozorenja i uputstava, moze doci do elektrčnog udara, požara i/ili ozbilj.nih povreda. Sva upozorenja i uputstva sačuvajte za buduće potrebe. Termin „elektrčni alat" u upozorenjima odnosi se na elektrčni alat sa napajanjem na struju (sa kablon) ili elektrčni alat sa napajanjem na baterije (bežični).

5.1 Radna oblast

• Ne pokušavajte da dosegne tačke van vašeg dometa. Zauzmite stabilan položaj i odžavajte ravnotežu. Tako cete imati bolju kontrlu nad elektricnim alatom u neocěkivanim situacijama.
• Obucite se prikladno. Ne nosite široku odecu niti nakit. Neka vam kosa, odeça i rukavice budu na sigurnoj udaljenosti odPokretnih delova. Pokretni delovi mogu zahvatiti široku odecu, nakit i dugu kosu.
• Ako se na uredaj mogu montirati usisivači i aparati za prikuplanje prašine, vodite računa da oni budu prikljeni i da se pravilno koriste. Upotreba ovih uredaja moze smanjiti opasnosti yezane za prašinu.

5.4 Korisćenje i odžavanje elektricnog alata

• Ne preopterećujte elektrčni alat. Koristite elektrčni alat koji je predviðen baš za tu svrhu Uz odgovarajuci elektrčni alat koji je predviðen za taj stepen opterećenja, zadatakćete obaviti brže i bezbednijie.

5.5 Servisiranje

- Upotreba ureăja je dozvoljena samo ako se omoguci sigurnosna razdaljina koju odreduje yodilica.
- Nemojte koristiti uredaj na kosini koja je previse strma za siguran rad. Kada radite na kosinama, usporite i uverite se da stojite stabilno.

6.3 Elektricna sigurnost

7 PREPORUKE ZA UPOTREBU PRODUZNIH KABLOVA

• Osigurajte da produzni kabl bude u dobrom stanju. Kada koristite produzni kabl, obaveznogo koristite onaj koji je dovoljno jak da prenese struju koju ce vaš proizvod vuči. Kabl koji je slabiji ce izazvati pad napona što ce rezultirati smanieniem snage i pregrevaniem.

• Osiguraje da vaš produktžni kabl bude pravilno povezan i u dobrom stanju. Uvek zamenite ostečeni produktžni kabl ili dajte da ga popraví kvalifikovana osoba pre nego što ga upotrebite. Zašitite vaše produktne kablove od oštrih predmeta, prekomerne toplote i ylažnij ili mokrih povrsina.

• Pre nego što prikljucite motor u struju, uverite se da je prekidač u položaju OFF (isključeno) i da je nominalne vrednosti elektricne struje iste kao one koje su označene na pločici sa tehnickim podacima na motoru. Rad pri nižem naponu ce ostetiti motor.

Uvaj uredaj mora biti uzemljen prilikom upotrebe da bi se operater zašitio od elektrčnog udara.

8 SKLAPANJE (FIG 1)

Ovaj proizvod se mora pravilno sklopiti pre upotrebe.

1. Uvucite donji deo drske u kuciiste motora i pricrvstite ga pomocu isporucenih vijaka. M4x16. (Sl. 1-1)
2. Pričvrstite srednji deo drške za donji deo drške pomocu dva isporučena vijka M6 X 45 i leptir navrtki. (SI, 1-2)
3. Pričvrstite gornji deo drške za srednji deo drške pomocu dva isporučena vijka M6 X 45 i leptir navrtki. (Sl. 1-3)
4. Upotrebizye isporucene stipalike za kabl da biste pričyrstili kabl. (Sl. 1-4)

9 RUKOVANJE

9.1 Dvostruka izolacija

Freza poseduje dvostruku izolaciju. To znači da su svi spoljni metalni delovi izolovani od elektrichnog napajania.

9.2 Zašita od pregejavanja

Ukoliko je neki strani predmet blokirao uredaj ili ukoliko je motor preopterecen, tada se motor automatski isključuje pomocu zašitnog uredaja. Otpustite ručicu okidača i sacekajte da se motor ohladi (priblžno 15 minuta) a zatim ponovoPokrenite uredaj.

• Tokom rada noževi pomeraju frezu unapred, pritisnite rukohvat za nošenje da biste polako noževe spustili u zemliu.
• Povlačenjem freze unazad prema vama, noževi se ukopavaju još više i agresivnijie.

• Za pripremu zemljiesta za setvu preporucujemo upotrebu oblica nozeva kao sto je prikazano u slici 4:
• Model frezovanja A - napravite dva prolaza na povrsinu za frezovanje, drugi pod pravim uolom u odnosu na prvi prolaz.
• Model frezovanja B - napravite dva prolaza na povrsinu za frezovanje, drugi da preklapa prvi prolaz.
• Da biste spreci di poskakivanje budite posebno obazrivi prilikom kretanja unazad i povlačeniem freze.
  Uvek dozvolite da se noževi okrece pri najvecoj brzini; nemojte raditi na način koji preopterećuje uredai.

10 TRANSPORT

Upozorenje! Pre početka transportovanja uredaja, isključite motor.

11 CIscENJE I ODRZAVANJE

Ako su nozevi tupi, odnesite ih u strucnoj radionici radi popravke ukoliko neophodno.

• Podmažite noževe i osovinu.
• Na kraju sezone, neka vam uredaj proveri i servisira stručna radionica.
