Denotes risk of personal injury or damage to the tool.

Read all safety warnings and all instructions. Failure to follow all warnings and instructions may result in electric shock, fire and/or serious injury. Save all warnings and instructions for future reference. The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains operated (corded) power tool or battery operated (cordless) power tool.

  • Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents.
  • Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
  • Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.

5.2 Electrical safety

Always check that the power supply corresponds to the voltage on the rating plate.

  • Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
  • Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
  • Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
  • Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
  • When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.

7.4 Adjusting the case width (Fig. 4, Fig. 5, Fig. 6, Fig. 7)

  • The machine is supplied with four spacer rings (15) which are each approximately 10 mm thick. The chase width can be adjusted by varying the amount of spacer rings fitted between the diamond cutting discs. The chase width can be calculated by taking into account the thickness of the spacer rings and the width of the diamond cutting discs. The maximum chase width is approximately 44mm.
  • The machine may only be operated when connected to a suitable vacuum device, the vacuum device must be approved for stone dust. A dust extraction adapter (3) is supplied, ensure that the hose is securely attached to the adapter. Stop work immediately when the vacuum device breaks down. Switch the machine off and restore the vacuum device. The vacuum device must be suitable for the type of material you work with. Use a special vacuum device when working with toxic materials or where toxic dust is produced. Use of a household vacuum cleaner may damage your health.
  • For best results use a wet and dry vacuum device fitted with an appropriate filter. If in doubt seek expert advice. 8 OPERATION Mark the line of cut before starting work, hold the machine tightly with both hands. (Fig. 8)

1. Set the chase depth. Place the front roller wheel of this machine firmly against the wall.

Switch the machine on and gently lower the machine towards the wall until the rotating diamond cutting discs plunge into the wall, hold the machine tightly with both hands.

2. Carry out the cut steadily, evenly and with moderate pressure appropriate to the material

being cut. Ensure you work in the correct direction! Always work against the direction of rotation as shown on the machine’s protective guard to avoid the risk of the machine being forced uncontrolled of the cut.

3. After completing the cut, retract the machine slightly, switch off and remove from the cut.

  • Allow the diamond cutting discs to stop before putting the machine down. Do not attempt to brake the diamond cutting discs by applying lateral pressure.
  • Remove the remaining masonry in the chase using the masonry breaking tool provided.
  • It is not possible to make curved cuts with the machine as the diamond cutting discs may seize in the cut.POWX0650 EN Copyright © 2023 VARO P a g e | 8 www.varo.com
  • Paving slabs or similar must be placed on a solid surface or be otherwise securely supported before starting the cut to avoid breakage.
  • When cutting especially hard material, e.g. concrete with high gravel content, the diamond cutting discs can overheat and become damaged. This is indicated by a ring of sparks that rotates with the diamond discs. In this case, interrupt the cutting process and allow the diamond discs to cool down by running the machine at no-load for a short time.
  • Noticeably decreasing work progress and a rotating spark ring indicate that the diamond cutting discs have become blunt.
