Please read all these instructions before using this electric tool and ple- ase keep the safety instructions. Careful handling and use of battery devices

  • Charge the bat- teries only in chargers that are recommended by the manufacturer. Risk of re if a charger that is suitable for a spe- cic type of bat- tery is used with other batteries.
  • In the power tools, use only the batteries designed for the purpose. The use of other batteries may re- sult in injuries and risk of re.
  • Keep the unused battery away35 MTGB from paper clips, coins, keys, nails, screws and other small metal ob- jects, which could cause bridging of the contacts. A short circuit between the bat- tery contacts may cause burns or re.
  • If used incorrect- ly, liquid may leak from the battery. Avoid contact with this. In the event of accidental con- tact, rinse off with water. If the liquid gets into eyes, seek medi- cal assistance. Leaking battery uid may cause skin irritations or burns.
  • Do not use da- maged or altered batteries. Dama- ged or altered batteries can be unpredictable and lead to re, explosion or risk of injury.
  • Do not expose batteries to re or elevated tem- peratures. Fire or temperatures over 130°C can cause an explosion.
  • Follow all instruc- tions for charging and never charge the battery or the battery-powered tool outside the temperature range stated in the operating36 MTGB instructions. Incor- rect charging or charging outside the permitted tem- perature range may destroy the battery and incre- ase the risk of re. Service
  • Never repair damaged batte- ries. All battery repairs should be carried out by the manufacturer or authorised customer service centres only. Special safety directions for battery- operated tools
  • Ensure that the device is switched off before inser- ting the battery. Inserting a batte- ry into a power tool that is swit- ched on may re- sult in accidents.
  • Recharge the batteries indoors only because the battery charger is designed for indoor use only.
  • To reduce the electric shock ha- zard, unplug the battery charger from the mains37 MTGB before cleaning the charger.
  • Do not subject the battery to strong sunlight over long periods and do not leave it on a heater. Heat da- mages the batte- ry and there is a risk of explosion.
  • Allow a hot batte- ry to cool before charging.
  • Do not open up the battery and avoid mechanical damage to the battery. Risk of short circuit and fumes may be emitted that irrita- te the respiratory tract. Ensure fresh air and seek me- dical assistance in the event of discomfort.
  • Do not use non- rechargeable bat- teries! Correct handling of the battery charger
  • Keep the equip- ment away from children and pets. Children must be supervised to en- sure that they do not play with the device.
  • Before each use, check the charger, cable and plug and have them repaired by quali- ed professionals and only with original parts. Do not use a defective38 MTGB charger and do not open it up yourself. This ensu- res that the safety of the device is maintained.
  • Connect the charger only to a socket with an earth. Ensure that the mains voltage matches the specications on the charger rating plate. Risk of electric shock.
  • Disconnect the charger from the mains before clo- sing or opening connection to the battery / power tool / device.
  • Keep the charger clean and away from wet and rain. Do not use the charger out- doors. Dirt and the entry of water increase the risk of electric shock.
  • Operate the charger only with the appropriate original batteries. Charging other batteries may result in injuries and risk of re.
  • Avoid mechanical damage to the charger. This can result in internal short circuits.
  • The charger must not be operated on or in the im- mediate vicinity39 MTGB of ammable sur- faces (e.g. paper, textiles). Risk of re due to hea- ting caused by charging.
  • If the connection cable of this de- vice is damaged, it must be repla- ced by the manu- facturer or their customer service or by a similarly qualied person in order to avoid hazards.

This can result in elec- tric shock or re.40 MTGB Charging the battery Do not expose the battery to extreme conditions such as heat or impact. Risk of in- jury from escaping elect- rolytic solution! After eye/ skin contact, rinse the af- fected areas with water or a neutraliser and con- sult a doctor. Charge the bat- tery in a dry room only. Prior to attaching the charger, check that the battery‘s outer surface is clean and dry. There is a risk of injury due to electric shock. Switch off the de- vice and remove the battery before carry- ing out any mainte- nance work. The rechargeable battery only reaches its full capacity once it has been charged several times.
  • Charge the battery before using it for the rst time.
  • Only use chargers from the Parkside X12 V Team series to recharge the battery.
