CASUALPLAY would like to thank you for purchasing this child restraint system. This product has been designed, manufactured and approved under the strictest safest regulations. It has also been designed to be easy to use, but we need your collaboration for optimal functioning results of this safety seat. Please read these instructions carefully before installing the product in the vehicle. The safety of your child depends on the correct use of this product. Warnings and safety notes
THIS INSTRUCTION MANUAL SHOULD BE KEPT WITH THE MULTI FIX WHILE IT IS IN USE.
READ THESE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY BEFORE USING THE ARTICLE AND KEEP THEM FOR FUTURE REFERENCE. THE CHILD'S SAFETY MAY BE AT RISK IF THESE INSTRUCTIONS ARE NOT FOLLOWED.
- The MULTI FIX is a child restraint system belonging to Group 1 (from 9 to 18kg ), group 2 (from 15 to 25kg ) and group 3 (from 22 to 36kg ).
- The original restraint system must not be altered.
- After an accident the restraint system should be replaced.
- Protect all parts of the restraint system from possible damage caused by the fold down seat or door of the vehicle.
- Protect all the metal parts that come into contact with the child from sunlight.
- The vehicle seat belt should never be twisted.
- Always use the restraint system, even on short journeys and never leave the child unattended inside the vehicle.
- Take the restraint system out of the car whenever it is not going to be used and keep it out of the reach of children.
- Any luggage or other objects that may cause injury in the event of a collision should be secured.
- We guarantee the safety of the device when it is used by the original buyer.
- It is not advisable to use second hand safety products.
- It is important that the other passengers in the vehicle also wear their seat belts, because in the event of an accident they could get flung about and injure the child.
- Regularly check the different parts of the product.
- Do not use the restraint system without its upholstery.
- Only the upholstery supplied by the seat manufacturer should be used as it forms an important part of the product.
- Do not leave the child alone in the seat at any time.
- You are responsible for the child's safety..
NOTE
- This is a "UNIVERSAL" child restraint. It is approved to Regulation No 44, 04 series of amendments, for general use in vehicles and it will fit most, but not all, car seats.
- A correct fit is likely if the vehicle manufacturer has declared in the vehicle handbook that the vehicle is capable of accepting a "UNIVERSAL" child restraint for this age group.
- This child restraint has been classified as "UNIVERSAL" under more stringent conditions than those which applied to earlier designs which do not carry this notice.
- If in doubt, consult either the child restraint manufacturer or the retailer.
NOTICE
- This is an ISOFIX CHILD RESTRAINT SYSTEM. It is approved to Regulation n^o44,04 series of amendments, for general use in vehicles fitted with ISOFIX anchorages systems.
- It will fit vehicles with positions approved as ISOFIX positions (as detailed in the vehicle
handbook), depending on the category of child seat and of the fixture.
- The mass group and the ISOFIX size class for which this device in intended is: 9 - 18 kg and Class B1.
WARNING
- The category of this child restraint system is "SEMIUNIVERSAL" and it is suitable for installation in the vehicles and in the seat positions indicated in the vehicle list inside this packaging.
- Other vehicles and seat positions may also be suitable for this restraint system.
- If in doubt, consult the manufacturer or retailer.
IMPORTANT
This product is only suitable for use in the approved vehicles that are fitted with threepoint seat belts with a retractor, approved under UN/ECE n^16 or other equivalent standards.
Instructions for use
Adjusting the harness
- To loosen the harness before seating the child in the seat, keep the harness adjustment button pressed down while you pull both shoulder straps (not the chest protector pads) (fig.01).
- Open the buckle by pressing the red button.
- Place the child in the seat and adjust the height of the headrest, to fit the height of the straps to the height of the child's shoulders (fig.02).
- Fasten the buckle, by first bringing the two side parts together and then inserting them into the buckle (fig.03).
- Lastly, adjust the harness to fit the child, by pulling the harness adjustment strap (fig.04).
Adjusting the headrest
- The headrest of the MULTI FIX has 3 positions, pull the adjustment handle and move the headrest to the required position (fig.05).
- You can use the headrest to adjust the height of the harness, so that the harness is at the height of the child's shoulders.
Installing the MULTI FIX on the vehicle seat GROUP I (9 - 18 kg)
- Pull the ISOFIX connector adjustment, found under the upholstery of the seat, to take the ISOFIX connectors out as far as they will go. Make sure that the ISOFIX connector release buttons are unlocked (fig.06).
NOTE: The MULTI FIX includes a pair of guides, making it easier to fasten the ISOFIX connectors to the vehicle seat. Position the guides in front of both ISOFIX anchors, found between the seat and the backrest. If your vehicle is fitted with these guides, you do not need to install the ones supplied with the MULTI FIX.
- Place the MULTI FIX on the vehicle seat, facing forwards.
- Fasten the ISOFIX connectors to the vehicle seat. They will click and a green signal will appear on each of them when they are correctly fastened (fig.07).
NOTE: Pay attention to the bag containing the Top Tether; make sure it is not trapped between both the backrests of the seats. To prevent this, lift the bag up while you install the seat on the vehicle seat (fig.08).
- Fit the safety seat against the backrest of the vehicle seat, by pulling the ISOFIX connector adjustment while pressing the safety seat against the vehicle seat (fig.09).
NOTE: Check that the safety seat is securely fastened to the vehicle seat, and that both connectors display the green signal.
- Before installing the Top Tether raise, or if necessary remove, the headrest of the vehicle seat. Pass the free end of the Top Tether over the backrest of the vehicle seat (fig.10), and fasten it to the ring (fig.11).
NOTE: Consult your vehicle manual to locate the position of the ring for the Top Tether.
- Tighten the Top Tether strap until the indicator turns green (fig.12).
- Loosen the harness (fig.01) and unfasten the buckle (consult the adjusting the harness section).
- Place the child in the MULTI FIX.
- Adjust the headrest (fig.13) (consult the adjusting the headrest section).
- Lastly, adjust the harness to fit the child, by pulling the harness adjustment strap (fig.14).
- To take the child out of the MULTI FIX, unfasten the harness buckle (by pressing the rd button) and separate the two parts.
- If you want to remove the MULTI FIX from the vehicle seat, release the Top Tether from its ring and the ISOFIX connectors using the release buttons.
Removing the harness
WARNING: The harness should only be removed from the MULTI FIX, if you want to use the product as group II/III (from 15 to 36kg ).

Place the MULTI FIX on a horizontal surface, so that you can see the lower part of the seat.

Use a screwdriver to remove the five screws that fasten the cover of the base (fig.15).
- Pass the three pins, corresponding to the sections of the harness and the buckle, through the frame and the upholstery (fig.16).
- Put the cover of the base back on and fasten it with the 5 screws.
- Locate the distribution plate, found on the back of the backrest, release the two sections of the harness and pass them through the slots in the frame and the upholstery (fig.17).
- Pull the guide found on the backrest, and release the protector pads (fig.17). Pass the strap for both of them through the slots in the frame and the upholstery.
- If you need to fit the harness again, follow the steps above in reverse.
NOTE: Keep each part of the harness, in case you need to fit it again in the future.
WARNING: When fitting the harness and protector pads, make sure that the straps are not twisted.
GROUP II/III (15 - 36 kg)
WARNING: Before using the MULTI FIX as group II/III (from 15 to 36kg ), you need to remove the safety harness. To do this consult the corresponding section.
NOTE: When you are going to use the MULTI FIX as group II/III, you have the option of whether or not to fasten the ISOFIX connectors to the vehicle seat.
- If you are not going to use the ISOFIX connectors of the MULTI FIX, you need to cover them up as much as possible. To do this lift the levers found under the upholstery, and press the connectors into the base (fig.18). Otherwise, read the following steps.
- Place the headrest of the MULTI FIX in its highest position.
- Position the MULTI FIX on the vehicle seat, facing forwards (fig.19).
- Fit the backrest of the safety seat against the backrest of the vehicle seat, pressing the front part of the MULTI FIX against the vehicle seat.
- Place the child in the MULTI FIX.
- Take hold of the buckle of the car seat belt. Pass the diagonal section through the guide (coloured red) found on the headrest, and the abdominal section through the two guides (marked red) on the sides (fig.20).
- Fasten the seat belt buckle. Adjust the height of the headrest so that the diagonal section of the car seat belt passes over the child's chest, not his neck. And make sure the abdominal section passes over the child's legs.
NOTE: Make sure that the seat belt straps are not twisted.
- If you want to fasten the ISOFIX connectors to the vehicle seat, and if this is possible, follow the steps below.
NOTE: Consult the instruction manual for your vehicle to locate the ISOFIX anchors in the vehicle, and to see which seats are fitted with them..
- Pull the ISOFIX connector adjustment, found under the upholstery of the seat, to take the ISOFIX connectors out as far as they will go. Make sure that the ISOFIX connector release buttons are unlocked (fig.21).
- Place the headrest of the MULTI FIX in its highest position.
- Position the MULTI FIX on the vehicle seat, facing forwards (fig.19).
- Fasten the ISOFIX connectors to the vehicle seat. They will click and a green signal will appear on each of them when they are correctly fastened (fig.22).
- Fit the safety seat against the backrest of the vehicle seat, by pulling the ISOFIX connector adjustment while pressing the safety seat against the vehicle seat (fig.23).
- Place the child in the MULTI FIX.
- Take hold of the buckle of the car seat belt. Pass the diagonal section through the guide (coloured red) found on the headrest, and the abdominal section through the two guides (marked red) on the sides (fig.20).
- Fasten the seat belt buckle. Adjust the height of the headrest so that the diagonal section of the car seat belt passes over the child's chest, not his neck. And make sure the abdominal section passes over the child's legs.
- To take the child out of the MULTI FIX, unfasten the seat belt buckle and take it off.
- If you want to remove the MULTI FIX from the vehicle seat, release the ISOFIX connectors using the release buttons (if you have anchored the seat using the ISOFIX anchors).
Maintenance
- Take the upholstery off for washing. The fabric parts should be washed as indicated on their attached care labels.
- Regularly inspect the child car seat.
