General Safety Instructions

Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing. If you give this device to other people, please also pass on the operating instructions.

  • The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fit for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors. Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately.
  • When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
  • Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you leave the room you should always turn the device off. Remove the plug from the socket.
  • Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
  • Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualified person and with a cable of the same type.

Special Safety Instructions

  • Switch the appliance on only if the blade, the protective lid and the motor casing are mounted correctly!
  • The device is equipped with safety switches. Do not operate the device if there is a fault or if the safety switches have been tampered with!
  • Before any spare parts are replaced the device must be switched off and disconnected from the mains!
  • Wait for the blade to stop before removing the contents in the container!

Intended Use

This device is used for chopping up foods.

It is intended exclusively for this purpose and may only be used as such. It may only be used in the manner described in these instructions for use. The device must not be used for commercial purposes.

Any other use of this device is considered to be contrary to the intended use and may result in damage to materials or even personal injury.

The firm Clatronic International GmbH does not accept any liability for damage caused as a result of the use of this device contrary to its intended use.

Unpacking the Device

• Take the device out of its packaging.
- Remove all packaging materials such as foils, filling materials, cable holders and cardboard packaging.
- Above the knife there is a clear plastic covering. This serves as protection for the cutting surface and during transport. This covering should be removed.
- Check the scope of supply.

i NOTE:

There may still be dust and other production residues on the device. We recommend cleaning the device as described under „Cleaning“.

Putting into Operation

  1. Place the transparent container on a level and smooth work surface.
  2. Place the blade (sharp edges facing downwards) on the metal axle in the container.
  3. Fill the container with the desired ingredients.

CAUTION:

Do not put hard foods such as ice cubes, nutmeg or large pieces of chocolate into the container! The blade can be damaged!

i NOTE:

Do not overfi ll the container, otherwise the ingredients may not be chopped thoroughly (see the table with the quantities)!

  1. Place the protective cover on the container and lock the cover into place in the container. Please note the markings on the component (see Figures a and b).

i NOTE:

Turning the protective lid as you do so will help to fit it into place!

  1. Place the motor housing in position and lock it into place by turning in a clockwise direction.
  2. Electrical Connection

Insert the power cable into a duly installed 230 V/50 Hz protective contact outlet.

i NOTE:

  • The motor drive of the device is equipped with a safety switch. The motor will only start after the housing has been locked.
  • If the device cannot be switched on, please check that the motor housing and the tool axle are positioned correctly.

  • Press down with your hand on the motor casing. The appliance is switched on.

CAUTION:

The device is suitable for short-term operation of not more than 15 seconds. After this time you should switch the machine off.

i NOTE:

PULSE MODE: You can use pulse mode by briefly pressing and then releasing the switch. The machine should only be used in this manner for a maximum of one minute. Please allow it to cool down for two minutes before using it again!

  1. After chopping release the motor casing. Pull out the plug from the outlet.
  2. Take the motor casing off the transparent container.
  3. Remove the protective cover and carefully take out the tool.
  4. Now you can remove the contents from the transparent container.

Of course, you can chop also other foods that are not specified herein. In order to determine the maximum time for a type of food that is not specified herein, compare it with the hardness of another type of food provided in the table, i.e. an Apple has the same insistence of onion. In this case, refer to the indications in the table for „onion“.

Recipe for Mayonnaise

Ingredients:

1 egg yolk - 1 tblsp. mustard - 2 tblsp. water -
1 tblsp. vinegar - 100 ml edible oil - salt and pepper.

Tip:

The recipe works best if all ingredients are at room temperature before you start.

  • Put the first two tablespoons of edible oil and the other ingredients in the dish.
  • Mix all the ingredients using repeated brief pulse operation.
  • Add the rest of the oil.
  • Now mix all the ingredients at least twice for 15 seconds.

Cleaning and Maintenance

WARNING!

  • Make sure that the plug is pulled out of the outlet after use and before cleaning!
  • Do not dip the motor unit in water.

Transparent container, protective cover, tools, black foot/cover

CAUTION:

  • Do not clean these parts in the dishwasher.
    • The clear plastic surfaces might become dull.

• These parts can be cleaned by hand in soapy water.
- Rinse off with clear water and dry the parts off.
• Dry all parts with a dry towel after washing.
- When putting the appliance away, wind the cable, put all the parts together and fi t the motor casing into place.

Troubleshooting

• Device is not working.

Remedy: Check the mains connection.

Other possible causes: The device is fitted with a safety switch. This prevents the motor from starting up unintentionally.

Remedy: Please check that the motor housing and cover are firmly in place.
