USER MANUAL UM 3047 CLATRONIC
General Safety Instructions Read the operating instructions carefully before putting the appliance into operation and keep the instructions including the warranty, the receipt and, if possible, the box with the internal packing.
- The appliance is designed exclusively for private use and for the envisaged purpose. This appliance is not fi t for commercial use. Do not use it outdoors (except if it is designed to be used outdoors). Keep it away from sources of heat, direct sunlight, humidity (never dip it into any liquid) and sharp edges. Do not use the appliance with wet hands. If the appliance is humid or wet, unplug it immediately. Do not put it in water.
- When cleaning or putting it away, switch off the appliance and always pull out the plug from the socket (pull on the plug, not the cable) if the appliance is not being used and remove the attached accessories.
- Do not operate the machine without supervision. If you should leave the workplace, always switch the machine off or remove the plug from the socket (pull the plug itself, not the lead).
- Check the appliance and the cable for damage on a regular basis. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
- Do not try to repair the appliance on your own. Always contact an authorized technician. To avoid the exposure to danger, always have a faulty cable be replaced only by the manufacturer, by our customer service or by a qualifi ed person and with a cable of the same type.
- Use only original spare parts.
- Pay careful attention to the following “Special Safety Instruc- tions“. Children
- In order to ensure your children‘s safety, please keep all packaging (plastic bags, boxes, polystyrene etc.) out of their reach. Caution! Do not allow small children to play with the foil as there is a danger of suffocation!
- To protect children from the dangers posed by electrical appliances, make sure that the cable is hanging low and that children do not have access to the appliance. Special Safety Instructions
- The machine should only be used under supervision!
- Do not manipulate any of the safety switches!
- Do not remove the lid during operation.
- When mixing, keep your hands and other objects out of the jug!
- Warning: Please handle the blade with extreme care! There is a danger of injury particularly when removing the blade from the mixing vessel, when emptying the mixing vessel and during cleaning!
- Never pour liquids hotter than 60°C into the jug! Danger of scalding!
- Never use the mixer when it is empty!
- The device must only be switched on after you have inser- ted the seal in the hole in the lid.
- Do not carry or lift the appliance during use. Always switch it off fi rst and pull out the plug. Carry the appliance always with both hands!
- Clean the appliance only as described in „Cleaning“. Mixing Vessel
- Place the mixing vessel in position in such a way that the arrow is pointing to the symbol on the motor housing.
- Turn the mixing vessel in an anticlockwise direction until the arrow is pointing to the symbol on the motor housing. Lid (see illustration C)
- Place the lid in position so that the symbol is pointing to the arrow on the handle.
- Turn the lid in a clockwise direction until the lever is pointing to the arrow on the handle. This is the operating position, as shown in illustration C. Please also read the section on the „Safety Switch“. Important notice on the safety switch The universal mixer is fi tted with a safety switch which prevents the motor from starting up if the container and lid are not in place (danger of injury). When the vessel is put in place the safety pin presses on to the safety switch of the motor housing. The universal mixer can now be switched on. If the motor does not start, check that the mixing vessel and lid are correctly fi tted in place. Seal and Knife Block (see illustration B) The knife block can be removed if necessary, e.g. for cleaning.
- You can release or tighten the knife block by turning it in an anticlockwise or clockwise direction.

Instructions for Use
- Please cut the items that are to be mixed into small pieces beforehand.
- Do not overfi ll! Do not exceed the maximum quantity stated on the mixing vessel!
- Ingredients: Do not put any hot items into the mixing vessel.
- Seal: The seal can also be used as a measuring jug (20-100ml).
- Short-term operation: The mixer is also suitable for short- term operation of not more than 30 seconds. After this time it should be switched off.
- Pulse operation: Pulse operation is achieved by pressing the button briefl y and then releasing it again. The mixture should be used in this mode for not more than 2 minutes. Please allow it to cool down for 2 minutes before using it again!
hopping up Ice Cubes: The blade in the mixing vessel is also suitable for chopping up ice cubes. Please only fi ll the carafe up to 1/2 full with ice cubes. Only the PULSE button should be used for breaking up the ice. Operation Preparation
- Place the mixing vessel in position.
- Now put the ingredients that are to be mixed into the mixing vessel (max. 1.5 litres).
- Place the lid in position and turn it to the operating position (see illustration C).
- Close the lid with the seal. Electrical Connection
- Ensure that the function switch is in the „0“ position.
- Connect the mains lead to a properly installed 230 V, 50 Hz safety power socket. Mixing
- For constant mixing (continuous mode): During operation on levels 1 to 3 the switch locks into the respective position. The setting can be read off on the round scale. Level 1 = low rpm Level 3 = high rpm Shift the selector to „0“ to switch off the appliance.
- For pulse mode (mixing at brief intervals): shift the switch to „0“ position. The switch snaps into place. The appliance is off now. Now press the PULSE button. The pushbutton has to be held in this position according to the desired interval length. If the button is released the machine switches off automatically. Adding further ingredients to be mixed
- Please switch off the machine before doing so. Spices or other ingredients that are to be mixed can be inserted through the hole in the seal. Stopping Operation
- Turn the switch to the „0“ position.
- In order to remove the mixing vessel, turn it in a clockwise direction to the symbol
- To pour out the contents, turn the lid a short distance to the symbol . Or if required, select the sieve opening . Mains Cable Take-up Device The mains cable can be wound up on the base. Cleaning Preliminary Cleaning
- Half fi ll the mixing vessel with water and press the PULSE button fur approx. 10 seconds. Then pour out the liquid.
- Remove the mains plug from the socket. For thorough cleaning, please remove the mixing vessel.
- Any removable parts which have come into contact with food can be cleaned in soapy water.
- Diffi cult-to-remove items in the mixing bowl can be removed with a rinsing brush. Please take care with the sharp knives!
- The housing of the motor device can be wiped off with a slightly moistened cloth. Do not immerse the motor device in water!
- Dry all parts with a dry towel after washing.
- For the purposes of storage, wind up the cable and reattach all the parts to the motor housing. Dishwasher None of the components are suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher! Troubleshooting
- Device is not working. Remedy: Check the mains connection. Check the position of the rotary switch. Other possible causes: The device is fi tted with a safety switch. This prevents the motor from starting up unintentionally. Remedy: Check that the mixing vessel and lid are properly installed. Noise development The sound pressure level in the ear of an operator (LpA) was measured according to DIN EN ISO 3744. After the expiry of the guarantee After the expiry of the guarantee repairs can be carried by the competent dealer or repair service against the payment of the ensuing costs.
