Before assembling and using the appliance for the first time, remove any stickers that may be present and clean the parts which come into contact with food as well as the removable parts as described in the chapter "Cleaning and care".
3 UNPACKING

The appliance is not intended for commercial use.

Y INSTRUCTIONS
- Only connect the device to properly installed carthcd sockets. The wire and plug must be dry.
- Do not pull the connecting cable over sharp edges or clamp it. Do not let it hang down and protect it from heat and oil.
- Never disconnect the mains plug from the socket by the cord or with wet hands.
- Stop using the appliance and/or disconnect it from the mains plug immediately if:
The appliance or mains cable is damaged;
the device is not leak-proof;
- there is any suspicion of a fault after dropping the appliance or similar.
In such cases, send the appliance to be repaired.
- Do not place the appliance on hot surfaces, such as hot plates or similar, or near open flames. It could melt.
- Do not place the device on water-sensitive surfaces. Spray may damage them.
- Never operate the appliance unattended.
- Do not switch on the device without milk.
Take the pot for flling from the base. - Only use the appliance to heat up or froth milk.
Do not use it to process any other ingredients. - Do not move the device during operation and do not pull on the mains cable.
- Underside of the jug must be dry before using the appliance.

5 USING THE APPLIANCE FOR THE FIRST TIME
The glass milk frother is intended for heating and frothing milk and milk substitutes. In general, the following milk types can be used: fresh milk, UHT milk (including from cows, sheep and goats) and lactose-free milk as well as milk substitutes (such as soya milk) with various fat contents.
The quality and volume of the milk foam depends on the type and characteristics of the milk being used (e.g. the fat and protein content, temperature, etc.).
Prior to initial use, clean the device as described in the section entitled "Cleaning and care". Connect the mains plug to an earthed wall socket. When pressing the lid (1) on the jug (4), make sure that the indentation in the sealing ring of the lid (2) is placed in the direction of the handle.

5.2 PREPARED MILK FOAM AND HOT MILK
NOTE
Use the WMF Milk System for this programme. (Fig. A)

Hold the WMF Milk System (A) by its handle and stand it vertically within the jug. A magnet then holds the WMF Milk System (A) to the floor of the jug.

Fill the jug [4] with chilled milk, observing the MIN and MAX level indicators (see chart). Do not exceed the indicated maximum, otherwise milk may slosh out during preparation.
- Stand the jug (4) on the device base (5).

Place the lid (1) on the jug (4) and apply slight pressure to ensure that it scales. Ensure that the end of the handle of the WMF Milk System (A) is positioned within the lid mechanism.

Now press the On/Off button (6) repeatedly until the LED next to the symbol of the desired programme lights up.
- Approx. 3 seconds later, the preparation begins automatically. The process may be interrupted at any time by pressing the On/Off button (6) again.
- Once the programme has finished, the device beeps and the programme selector blinks 3 times before switching off automatically.
Note: the device's fans may continue to run beyond the end of the programme. - The jug (4) can now be removed from the base (5). To pour out the contents, remove the lid (1) and take out the WMF Milk System (A).
WARNING the jug and handle of the WMF Milk System may be hot!
CAUTION do not place the hot jug (4) on delicate surfaces.
5.3 PREPARING HOT CHOCOLATE
NOTE
Use the WMF Choc System for this programme. (Fig B).
- Hold the WMF Choc System (B) by its handle and stand it vertically within the jug. A magnet then holds the WMF Choc System (B) to the floor of the jug.
- Fill the jug (4) with chilled milk, observing the MIN and MAX level indicators (see chart). Do not exceed the indicated maximum, otherwise milk may slosh out during preparation.
- Stand the jug (4) on the device base (5).
- Add crumbled chocolate to the milk. For optimal results, we recommend breaking the chocolate into small chunks. Alternatively, you can use ground or powdered chocolate.

Place the lid (1) on the jug (4) and apply slight pressure to ensure that it seals. Ensure that the end of the handle of the WMF Choc System (B) is positioned within the lid mechanism.

Press the On/Off button (6) repeatedly until the LED next to the "Hot Chocolate" symbol lights up.
- Approx. 3 seconds later, the preparation begins automatically. The process may be interrupted at any time by pressing the On/Off button (6) again.
- Once the programme has finished, the device beeps and the programme selector blinks 3 times before switching off automatically.

WARNING
Always place the lid [1] on the device before switching it on. Never remove the lid [1] while the device is running.
NOTE
An automatic switch-off prevents the appliance from overheating. During the cooling phase, the hot functions (hot milk foam, hot milk and hot chocolate) cannot be started, the corresponding function programme flashes. As soon as the cooling phase is over, the programme can be started by pressing the respective function key.
6 CLEANING AND CARE
Clean the device and the WMF Milk/Choc System after each use.
- Unplug the mains cord and allow the appliance to cool down.
- The device base (b) is not dishwasher safe and may be cleaned only by wiping down with a damp cloth.
The lid (1), WMF Milk/Choc System (A/B) and jug (4) are dishwasher safe. For ease of cleaning, remove the sealing ring (2) from the lid (1) and disassemble the WMF Milk/Choc System into its individual components (see "WMF Milk/Choc System"). We recommend placing smaller components in the cutlery basket.
- Do not use aggressive cleaners, scouring agents or solvents.

WMF Milk System (A)
To disassemble, unscrew the handle (7) from the DISC bracket (8). Then remove the milk DISC (9).
To reassemble, push the milk DISC (9) into the DISC bracket (8) with the notch facing upwards. Then screw the handle (7) all the way into the DISC bracket (8) from above. The milk DISC (9) is now affixed flexibly to the bracket.
WMF Choc System (B)
To prepare hot chocolate, you'll need the WMF Choc System (Fig. B).
For ease of cleaning, the WMF Choc System can be disassembled into its individual components. To do so, pull the chocolate basket (10) up and out. Unscrew the handle (7) from the DISC bracket (8) and remove the milk DISC (9) from the bracket.
To reassemble the WMF Chac System, push the milk DISC (9) into the DISC bracket (8). Then screw the handle (7) all the way into the DISC bracket (8) from above. The milk DISC (9) is now affixed to the bracket. Next push the chocolate basket (10) onto the handle (7) from above and push downwards until it clicks into place.
