Injuries caused by touching the rotating parts or hot parts of the tool

Intended Use
The DWH201D dust extraction system has been designed for the extraction of dust in professional hammer drilling in masonry or concrete, and with solid drill bits mounted to the power tool. This dust extraction attachment will fit most DEWALT corded and cordless SDS PLUS rotary hammers, corded hammer drills and premium cordless drill/driver/hammer drills. DO NOT use under wet conditions or in the presence of flammable liquids or gases.
The dust extraction system is an attachment for use with professional power tools.
DO NOT let children come into contact with the tool. Supervision is required when inexperienced operators use this tool.

This product is not intended for use by persons (including children) suffering from diminished physical, sensory or mental abilities; lack of experience, knowledge or skills unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety. Children should never be left alone with this product.

ASSEMBLY AND ADJUSTMENTS

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, turn tool off and disconnect tool from power source before making any adjustments or removing/ installing attachments or accessories. Be sure the trigger switch is in the OFF position. An accidental start-up can cause injury.
Attaching and Removing the Dust Extraction System
To Attach the Dust Extraction System (Fig. A-D)
- Remove the bit prior to assembling.
- Remove the side handle and the depth adjustment rod, if attached to the tool.
- Widen the ring opening 17 by rotating the side handle 1 anti-clockwise.
- Slide the assembly onto the nose of the tool, through the ring opening 17 and onto the collar 10, past the chisel holder and sleeve. If an adaptor is needed refer to Attaching the Dust Extraction System with an Adapter.
- Rotate the dust extraction system to the desired position.
- Lock the assembly in place by securely tightening the side handle 1, rotating the grip clockwise so that the assembly will not rotate.
- Insert the dust hose 6 into the dust extraction connection port 4 and a dust extractor (not shown).
NOTE: The dust excretion system is compatible with or without a dust extractor. The tool can be used with the plug 9 inserted in the dust extraction connection port 4. If you are using the plug, it is recommended you remove the dust from the tube after drilling each hole.
Attaching the Dust Extraction System with an Adaptor (Fig. A, D)
If the diameter of the tool's collar 10 is less than 43mm , an adaptor is needed to properly mount the dust extraction system.
Your dust extraction system comes with two adaptors, a toothed adaptor for rotary hammers 7 and a smooth adaptor for hammer drills 8.
- Choose the correct adaptor.
- Open correct adaptor and close onto the collar 10. NOTE: The adaptor will slide back and forth on the tool.
- Widen the ring opening 17 by rotating the side handle ① anti-clockwise.

Place the ring opening 17 onto the adaptor.

Removing the Dust Extraction System (Fig. A)
- Remove the dust hose 6 from the dust extraction connection port 4.
- Remove bit from SDS PLUS tool holder or drill chuck.
- Turn side handle 1 to loosen and slide from nose of tool.
- If adaptor was used, open and remove adaptor from nose of tool.
AirLock Compatible (Fig. A, E)
Your DEWALT dust extractor is compatible with the DEWALT AirLock connection system. The AirLock allows for a fast, secure connection between the dust hose and power tool. The AirLock connector 11 connects directly to DEWALT compatible tools or through the use of an AirLock adaptor 12 (available from your local DEWALT supplier).
NOTE: If using an adaptor, ensure it is firmly attached to the tool outlet before following the steps below.
- Ensure the collar on the AirLock connector is in the unlock position. (Refer to Figure E.) Align notches 13 on collar and AirLock connector as shown for unlock and lock positions.
- Push the AirLock connector onto the adaptor connector point.
- Rotate the collar to the locked position. NOTE: The ball bearings inside collar lock into slot and secure the connection.The power tool is now securely connected to the dust extractor.
OPERATION
Instructions for Use

Proper Hand Position (Fig. F)

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, ALWAYS use proper hand position as shown.

WARNING: To reduce the risk of serious personal injury, ALWAYS hold securely in anticipation of a sudden reaction.
Proper hand position requires one hand on the main handle 14 of the hammer and one hand on the side handle 1.
Attaching and Removing Tubes (Fig. A, G)
Your dust extraction system comes with a short tube 2 and a long tube 3. Refer to Specifications for proper usage for each tube.
Attaching the Tube
You can attach the tube with the bit either installed or removed.
- Push the tube onto the end of the dust extraction unit while using a twisting motion until the tube is secure.
- Place the wear ring 5 on the end of the tube.
Removing the Tube
To remove the tube, twist and pull the tube away from the dust extraction unit.
MAINTENANCE
Your DEWALT dust extraction system has been designed to operate over a long period of time with a minimum of maintenance. Continuous satisfactory operation depends upon proper tool care and regular cleaning.

WARNING: Use only DEWALT replacement parts.
Replacing the Dust Brush (Fig. H)

WARNING: Wear approved eye protection and approved dust mask when performing this procedure.
The dust brush will wear during use and will need to be replaced.
- To remove the dust brush 15, pry it away from the four small tabs 16 holding it in place.
- Insert the new dust brush making sure it is securely held by the four small tabs.
Optional Accessories

WARNING: Since accessories, other than those offered by DEWALT, have not been tested with this product, use of such accessories with this product could be hazardous. To reduce the risk of injury, only DEWALT recommended accessories should be used with this product.
Consult your dealer for further information on the appropriate accessories.
