BEFORE USE

  1. Power source
Ensure that the power source to be utilized conforms to the power requirements specified on the product name plate.
  2. Grounding
This tool should be grounded while in use to protect the operator from electric shock.
  3. Power switch
Ensure that the power switch is in the OFF position. If the plug is connected to a power receptacle while the power switch is in the ON position, serious accidents can occur.

HOW TO USE

  1. Inserting and removing parts

MSW BOH-1050-1 - HOW TO USE - 1

The tool holder is maintenance-free. The dust cap prevents drilling dust from entering the machine during operation.

Inserting tool:

Clean and lightly grease tool shank before inserting. Pull back fastening sleeve and hold. Twist the tool into the holder and push it in until it engages. In case of BOH-1050-1, twist the tool into the holder and push it in until it engages. It's not necessary to pull back the fastening sleeve. The tool shank locks in position automatically. Pull the tool to check if it is locked correctly.

Removing the tool:

Push back the locking sleeve of the tool holder and remove the tool.

  1. Handle attachment

For reasons of safety, the rotary hammer should only be used with the handle attachment.

  1. Dust cap

Before carrying out hammer or drilling works vertically overhead, the device should be equipped with the dust collecting cap.

REPLACING CARBON BRUSHES

When the device is operated carbon brushes wear out steadily. When the insulation tip integrated inside the brush gets revealed and touches the commutator it will trip the engine automatically. When this happens, both brushes must be replaced with new brushes of the same type.

Attention! Before commencing carbon brush replacement make sure the device is switched off and the power cord is unplugged.

To replace carbon brushes:

For the BOH-1050-2 | BOH-1800-1 model:

- Unscrew protection cover screws that secure carbon brushes using a screwdriver

  • Remove worn out brushes
  • Insert new brushes
  • Put protection covers back in place and screw the assembly back together Model BOH-1050-1:
  • Unscrew protection covers on both sides of the device using a screw driver
  • Remove worn out brushes
  • Insert new brushes
  • Put protection covers back in place and screw the assembly back together

MAINTENANCE AND INSPECTION

  1. Inspecting the tool

Since use of a dull tool will cause the motor to malfunction, it should be replaced with a new one without delay when abrasion is noticed.

  1. Inspecting the mounting screws

Regularly inspect all mounting screws and ensure that they are properly tightened. Should any of the screws be loose, retighten them immediately. Failure to do so could result in serious hazard.

  1. Maintenance of the motor

The motor unit winding is the very "heart" of the power tool. Exercise due care to ensure the winding does not become damaged and/or wet with oil or water.

  1. Inspecting the carbon brushes

The motor employs carbon brushes which are consumable parts. When they become worn or near "wear limit", it could result in motor trouble. When an auto-stop carbon brush is equipped, the motor will stop automatically. At that time, replace both carbon brushes with new ones. In addition always keep carbon brushes clean and ensure that they slide freely within the brush holders.

  1. Installing drills

Never hold the chuck body with one hand and use the drill power to rotate the drill body to loosen or tighten drills. You may severely injure your hand. Always check whether the drill is properly mounted in the chuck.

  1. Drilling (concerning BOH-1800-I)

When drilling in smooth hard surfaces such as metal, use centre punch to mark the desired hole location. This will prevent the drill from slipping off centre as the hole is started. The workpiece should be secured in a vice or with clamps to keep it from turning as the drill rotates. Check drill to make sure it is firmly locked in the drill chuck.

  1. Service

When making repairs, use only identical replacement parts. In such cases please contact our service centre. Use of any other part may create a hazard or cause product damage. Do not attempt to modify tools or use accessories which are not recommended. Any such alteration or modification is misuse and could result in a hazardous condition leading to possible serious injury. It will also void the warranty.

  1. Cleaning the device

To keep the device clean, clean it using a soft cloth damped in water with soap. Never use brushes or other cleaning tools that may scratch/damage the device. Remember to prevent water from penet rating the device through the vents in the housing of the device. Clean the vents with a paintbrush and compressed air.

TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE

Shaking, crashing and turning upside down of the machine should be prevented when it is transported. Store it in a properly ventilated surrounding with dry air and without any corrosive gas.

MSW BOH-1050-1 - TRANSPORTATION AND STORAGE - 1

REGULAR CONTROL OF DEVICE

Regularly check the machine for signs of damage. If it should be damaged, please stop using it immediately and contact your customer service to solve the problem.

What to do in case of a problem?

Please contact your customer service and prepare following information:

• Invoice number and serial number (the latter is to be found on the technical plate on the machine).

• If relevant, a picture of the damaged, broken or defective part.

- It will be easier for your customer service clerk to determine the source of the problem if you give

a detailed and precise description of the matter. The more detailed your information, the better
