General safety instructions

WARNING! Read all safety notes and instructions.

Keep all safety notes and instructions for future reference.

To ensure the highest possible protection and wearing comfort, it is essential to observe the following information and safety instructions.

- Before each use of the helmet, make sure that all components are correctly fitted, adjusted and maintained.

  • Only use the helmet with the correct adjustments to ensure the required protective function.
  • The helmet cannot provide absolute protection against injury and is not a substitute for safe working practices.
  • The helmet must not be changed in its design/painting.
  • Do not bring the helmet into contact with liquids containing solvents or alcohol. These can damage the plastic.
  • The helmet may have damage that is not visible from the outside (such as hair-line cracks) due to impacts or shocks. In this case, full protection is no longer provided in an emergency. Replace the helmet as soon as it has been subjected to a heavy load.
  • The helmet must be checked for damage such as cracks or crazing before each use. Only use a helmet and its accessories that are in perfect condition.
  • Do not make any modifications to the helmet, otherwise the protective function may be negatively affected.
  • Follow all instructions and notes for fitting, adjusting and maintaining the hearing protection.
  • Hearing protection provides safety in environments where noise is expected to have an adverse effect.
  • The helmet-earmuff combination must be continuously worn in noisy environments.
  • The hearing protection cushions can wear out through use and must therefore be checked for cracks or leaks after use.
  • For cleaning the hearing protection, do not use chemicals or substances that are harmful to the user.
  • This product may be affected by certain chemical substances. For further details, please contact the manufacturer.
  • Earmuffs and especially the sealing cushions can wear out through use and should therefore be inspected frequently for signs of, for example, cracks and leaks.

  • Wrapping the sealing cushions with "hygiene covers" may affect the acoustic performance of the earmuff.

  • △WARNING! Failure to follow the specified safety instructions for the helmet-earmuff combination may seriously compromise the protective function.
  • The visor must always be folded down when wearing the helmet.
  • The visor protects against hazards from flying parts.
  • The visor does not protect against splashing liquids including liquid metal, hot objects, electricity, infrared and UV radiation.
  • If the visor and the helmet-earmuff combination have different mechanical strength markings, the full eye and face protection shall be rated the lower grade.
  • Do not use the visor if there is a foreseeable risk from hard and sharp objects flying around.
  • The visor can become clogged with chips and its resin resulting in impaired visibility.
  • △WARNING! The visor is tested for increased mechanical strength and corresponds to mechanical strength class "S".

Fitting hearing protection and visor

Start with the fitting of the hearing protection. Insert the hearing protection into the opening provided on the helmet until it locks into place. Now you can start with the fitting of the visor. Hold the visor upside down against the mounting holes on the hearing protection. Start with the fitting on one side. Push the pin on the visor into the opening provided on the hearing protection until it locks into place. Repeat this step on the other side as well. Now you can fold down the visor.

Adjustments

Adjusting the head strap (fig. A):

  • Turn the adjustment dial of the head strap (4) to adjust the head strap to your head size.
  • When putting on the helmet, the headband lies tightly on the head.
  • By turning the adjustment dial of the head strap (4) clockwise, you reduce the circumference.
  • By turning the adjustment dial of the head strap (4) counterclockwise, you increase the circumference.
  • The helmet must sit firmly on the head but not press uncomfortably.
  • ATTENTION! Only use a correctly adjusted helmet.

Adjusting the hearing protection (fig. B-D):

You can adjust the hearing protection (3) both in height and in the required position.

  • Press the retaining bracket of the hearing protection (3) to lock the hearing protection (3) to the ear.
  • Move the hearing protection (3) to adjust the required height (see fig. B).
  • Turn the hearing protection (3) to adjust to the correct position (see fig. C).
  • It can be made easier to put on and take off the helmet by folding the hearing protection (3) outwards separately. If the tensioning force decreases, first take off the helmet. Then readjust the tensioning force when the hearing protection is folded in by turning the adjustment dial of the hearing protection (5) (see fig. D).
  • Turn the adjustment dial of the hearing protection (5) in the "+" direction to increase the tensioning force (see fig. D).
  • Turn the adjustment dial of the hearing protection (5) in the "-" direction to decrease the tensioning force (see fig. D).

Adjusting the visor (fig. E):

By repositioning the visor, you can adjust the distance between the visor (2) and the face (see fig. E). In addition, you can also fold the visor (2) all the way up.

Maintenance, cleaning, storage and transport

  • Before each use, inspect the components for damage and signs of wear.
  • Clean the helmet after finishing work.
  • Use a damp cloth to clean the helmet, hearing protection and visor. Never use white spirit, solvents or cleaners that attack plastic.
  • Only disinfect the helmet and hearing protection with agents that do not contain solvents or harsh chemicals.
  • Store the helmet, hearing protection and visor in a clean, dry environment protected from UV radiation.
  • The helmet can be transported in its original packaging.

Durability

The helmet materials used are subject to a natural ageing process, which is why the helmet may only be used for a maximum of 5 years. The date of manufacture can be found on the fold-out page (see fig. H). This symbol is also embossed on the helmet. The hearing protection and the visor have a maximum service life of 3 years.
