SAFETY ADVICE AND WARNINGS

• Read these instructions carefully before switching on the appliance and keep them for future reference. Failure to follow and observe these instructions could lead to an accident.
• Clean all the parts of the product that will be in contact with food before use, as indicated in the cleaning section.
• This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance in a safe way and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be made by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised.
• Keep the appliance and its cord out of reach of children less than 8 years.

• This appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-control system.

• If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.

• This appliance is for household use only, not professional, industrial use.
• The outer surface may get hot when the appliance is operating.
• Ensure that the voltage indicated on the rating label matches the mains voltage before plugging in the appliance.
• Connect the appliance to a mains socket rated at least 10 amperes.
• The appliance's plug must fit into the mains socket properly. Do not alter the plug. Do not use plug adaptors.
• Do not use the appliance if the supply cord or the plug is damaged.
• Do not pull on the supply cord. Never use the supply cord to lift up, carry or unplug the appliance.
• Do not wrap the supply cord around the appliance.

USE AND CARE

• Fully extend the appliance's supply cord before each use.
• Do not use the appliance if the on/off button does not work.
• Do not move the appliance while in use.

• Use the appliance handle/s, to lift it or move it.

• Do not use the appliance if it is tipped up and do not turn it over.

• Do not turn the appliance over while it is in use or connected to the mains.
• Do not cover the cooking surface or food with aluminium foil and other similar materials.
• Do not cover or wrap the food with aluminium foil and other similar materials.
• To keep the non-stick treatment in good condition, do not use metal or pointed utensils on it.
• Disconnect the appliance from the mains when not in use and before undertaking any cleaning task.
• Do not store the appliance if it is still hot.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

BEFORE USE

• Make sure that all product's packaging has been removed.
• Please read carefully the "Safety advice and warnings" booklet before first use
• Before using this product for the first time, it is advisable to test it without food.
• Before using the product for the first time, clean the parts that will come into contact with food in the manner described in the cleaning section.
• Some parts of the appliance have been lightly greased. Consequently, the first time the appliance is used a light smoke may be detected. After a short time, this smoke will disappear.
• To eliminate the smell given off by the appliance when used for the first time, it is recommended to have it on at full power for 10 minutes in a well-ventilated room.

USE

• Extend the supply cord completely before plugging it in.
• Connect the appliance to the mains. The power light will start flashing.
• Turn the appliance on, by using the on/off button.
• The appliance must be preheated before use. To do so, select any cooking program and press the OK button. Once the preheating process is complete, the "Ready" indicator light will turn on, and an acoustic signal will sound to notify you.

NOTE: Prepare the ingredients you are going to put into the appliance while the appliance is heating up.

• Select the desired temperature (140^ - 230^) or program and press OK button to start cooking.
• Open the appliance and put the sandwich, meat or other foods on the bottom cooking plate and close the appliance.
• When the appliance ends the cooking time, will make a sound to warn you and also it will shut down automatically.
• In order to minimize the generation of acrilamida during the cooking process, avoid reaching dark brown colours on the foodstuffs.
• When the food is to your taste, remove it from the appliance with the help of a wooden spatula or similar heat resistant implement; do not use utensils that could damage the non-stick coating.
• The appliance can be switched on again using the on/off button.

USE AS OPEN GRILL

• The top and bottom plates align to form a large cooking surface. To open the appliance in this position, locate the 180^ opening lever on the left arm. (C).
• Slide the opening lever towards you with one hand while holding the handle with the other. Push the handle back until the top plate is flat on the table. The appliance will stay in this position until you lift the handle and top plate to close it.
• Use the appliance as an open grill to cook burgers, steak, poultry (we do not recommend cooking bone-in-chicken, since it does not cook evenly on an open grill), fish and vegetables.
• You have the option of cooking different types of food on separates without combining their flavours or cooking large amounts of the same type of food.

TIME AND TEMPERATURE

If you wish you can also change the temperature and time settings.
- The cooking time can be adjusted from 10 seconds to 30 minutes by pressing time selector button and adjusting it using the increase and decrease buttons. Time increases or decreases 10 seconds every press.
- The cooking temperature can be adjusted from 140^ to 230^ by pressing temperature selector button and adjusting it using the increase and decrease buttons. Temperature increases or decreases 5^ every press.

PRE-SET PROGRAMS

• This appliance has 5 pre-set programs.
• To select a program, press the program button you want.
• You can adjust the doneness level (Rare - Medium - Well Done) by pressing the Increase button.

NOTE: Each cooking program has a preset time and temperature, which are specified in the recommendation table.

NOTE: If you wish to set your own time and temperature, please follow the instructions in the "Time and Temperature" section.

• Selecting the OK button, it will start the cooking process.

FLOATING PLATE SYSTEM

• This appliance features a versatile floating plate that allows the height of the top plate to be adjusted to 5 positions.

• In this way, we can adapt the plates to the height of the food and even use the plates for melting.

• Move the floating plate/ lock lever forwards or backwards to choose the desired step.

• This system also has a position where the plates are closed and locked. This position is ideal for transport and storage the appliance.

ONCE YOU HAVE FINISHED USING THE APPLIANCE

• Turn the appliance off using the on/off button.
• Unplug the appliance from the mains.
• Allow to cool down.
• You can remove the plates for easier cleaning by pressing the release button on both plates.
• Clean the appliance.

SAFETY THERMAL PROTECTOR

• The appliance has a safety device, which protects the appliance from overheating.

CLEANING

• Disconnect the appliance from the mains and allow it to cool before undertaking any cleaning task.
• Clean the electrical equipment and the mains connection with a damp cloth and dry. DO NOT IMMERSE IN WATER OR ANY OTHER LIQUID.
• Clean the equipment with a damp cloth with a few drops of washing-up liquid and then dry.
• Do not use solvents, or products with an acid or base pH such as bleach, or abrasive products, for cleaning the appliance.
• Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid or place it under running water.
• It is advisable to clean the appliance regularly and remove any food remains.
• If the appliance is not in good condition of cleanliness, its surface may degrade and inexorably affect the duration of the appliance's useful life and could become unsafe to use.
• No parts of this appliance are suitable for cleaning in the dishwasher.

SERVICE

• Any misuse or failure to follow the instructions for use renders the guarantee and the manufacturer's liability null and void.

• Take the appliance to an authorised technical support service if problems arise. Do not try to dismantle or repair without assistance, as this may be dangerous.
