Retain all safety directions and instructions for future use.
The term "power tool" in the warnings refers to your mains-operated (corded) power tool or battery-operated (cordless power tool).
1) WORK AREA SAFETY
a) Keep work area clean and well lit. Cluttered or dark areas invite accidents.
b) Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids, gases or dust. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
c) Keep children and bystanders away while operating a power tool. Distractions can cause you to lose control.
2) ELECTRICAL SAFETY
a) Power tool plugs must match the outlet. Never modify the plug in any way. Do not use any adapter plugs with earthed (grounded) power tools. Unmodified plugs and matching outlets will reduce risk of electric shock.
GBMT
b) Avoid body contact with earthed or grounded surfaces, such as pipes, radiators, ranges and refrigerators. There is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is earthed or grounded.
c) Do not expose power tools to rain or wet conditions. Water entering a power tool will increase the risk of electric shock.
d) Do not abuse the cord. Never use the cord for carrying, pulling or unplugging the power tool. Keep cord away from heat, oil, sharp edges or moving parts. Damaged or entangled cords increase the risk of electric shock.
e) When operating a power tool outdoors, use an extension cord suitable for outdoor use. Use of a cord suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
f) If operation of the power tool in a damp environment is unavoidable, please use a residual current circuitry. The use of a residual current circuitry reduces the risk of an electric shock.
3) PERSONAL SAFETY
a) Stay alert, watch what you are doing and use common sense when operating a power tool. Do not use a power tool while you are tired or under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of inattention white operating power tools may result in serious personal injury.

Safety information for all saws
SAWING METHOD

DANGER! Do not put your hands in the cutting area or on the saw
blade. Hold the additional handle or the motor housing with your other hand. If you hold the saw with both hands, they cannot be injured by the saw blade.
b) Do not reach underneath the workpiece. The protective hood cannot protect you from the saw blade under the workpiece.
c) Adjust the cutting depth to the thickness of the workpiece. Less than one full tooth height should be visible below the workpiece.
d) Never hold the workpiece you want to saw in your hands or over your leg. Secure the workpiece in a sturdy support. It is important to fasten the workpiece securely to minimise the risk of physical contact, the saw blade jamming and loss of control.
e) Hold the electric tool by the insulated gripping surfaces when performing work in which the cutting tool may come into contact with hidden wiring. Contact with a live wire also causes a charge in metal parts of the electric tool and results in an electric shock.
f) When performing longitudinal cuts, always use a stop or a straight edge guide. This improves the cutting precision while minimising the possibility of the saw blade jamming.
g) Always use the right size saw blades with the appropriate locating holes (e.g. diamond or round). Saw blades that do not fit in the saw fitting parts run unevenly and lead to a loss of control.
h) Never use damaged or incorrect saw blade washers or screws. The saw blade washers and screws were designed specifically for your saw to ensure optimal performance and dependability.
Further safety instructions for all saws
SPRING-BACK - CAUSES AND CORRESPONDING SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
- Spring-back is the sudden reaction caused by a jammed, stuck or improperly aligned saw blade resulting in an out-of-control saw lifting and moving out of the workpiece and towards the operator.
- If the saw blade snags or gets caught in the closing sawing gap or sticks, it will jam, and the motor force will kick the saw back towards the operator.
- If the saw blade is twisted in the saw cut or incorrectly aligned, the teeth of the rear edge of the saw blade can jam in the wood surface, causing the saw blade to move out of the sawing gap and the saw to recoil in the direction of the operator.
Spring-back is caused by wrongly or incorrectly operating the saw. It can be avoided by suitable precautionary measures, such as those described below.
a) Hold the saw firmly with both hands and bring your arm into a position in which you can resist the spring-back force. Always hold onto the side of the saw blade and never align the saw blade with your body. In the event of a
spring-back, the circular saw can kick back, but the operator can keep control over the spring-back forces using suitable precautionary measures.
b) If the saw blade jams or you interrupt your work, switch the saw off and keep it still in the workpiece until the saw blade has come to a full stop. Never try to remove the saw from the workpiece or pull it back as long as the saw blade is moving, as otherwise it may spring back. Identify and correct the cause of the saw blade jamming.
c) If you want to restart a saw that is in the workpiece, centre the saw blade in the sawing gap and check whether the teeth are jammed in the workpiece. If the saw blade jams, it can move out of the workpiece or cause spring-back when the saw is restarted.
d) Support large plates to reduce the risk of spring-back due to a jammed saw blade. Large plates can bend under their own weight. Plates must be supported on both sides, not only near the sawing gap, but also at the edge.
e) Do not use any blunt or damaged saw blades. Saw blades with blunt or improperly aligned teeth cause increased friction, saw blade jamming and spring-back due to an excessively tight sawing gap.
f) Before sawing, fix the cutting depth and cutting angle settings. If the settings change during sawing, the saw blade can jam, resulting in spring-back.
g) Be particularly careful when sawing existing walls or other areas where you cannot see what is there. During sawing, the cutting saw blade can jam in hidden objects and cause springback.
FUNCTION OF THE BOTTOM GUARD COVER
a) Before each use, check whether the bottom guard cover closes properly. Do not use the saw if the bottom guard cover does not move freely or close right away. Never clamp or bind the bottom guard cover in an open position. If the saw accidentally falls to the ground, the bottom guard cover may be bent. Open the protective hood using the pull lever and make sure that it moves freely and does not touch the saw blade or other parts at all cutting angles and depths.
b) Check the function of the springs for the bottom guard cover. If the bottom guard cover and spring do not work properly, have the saw serviced before using it. Damaged parts, sticky deposits or accumulation of shavings cause the bottom guard cover to work with a delay.
c) Only open the bottom guard cover by hand for special cuts, such as "plunge and angular cuts". Open the bottom guard cover with the pull lever and release it as soon as the saw blade cuts into the workpiece. For all other sawing, the bottom guard cover should work automatically.
d) Do not place the saw on the work bench or the floor if the bottom guard cover is not covering the saw blade. An unprotected saw blade that is still running will move the saw in the direction opposite of the cutting direction and cut whatever is in its way. Pay attention to how long the saw blade remains running.

Electrical devices do not belong in domestic waste. The crossed out waste bin symbol means that this
product must not be disposed of with household waste after its service life.
Directive 2012/19/EU on waste electrical and electronic equipment: Consumers are legally obliged to recycle electrical and electronic equipment in an environmentally sound manner at the end of its life. In this way, environmentally friendly and resource-saving recycling is ensured.
Depending on the implementation in national law, you may have the following options:
- Return to a shop,
- Hand over to an official collection point,
- Return to the manufacturer/distributor.
This does not affect accessories enclosed with the old devices or tools without any electrical components.

Do not throw batteries into domestic waste, fire (risk of explosion) or water.
Li-Ion Damaged batteries can harm the environment and your health if poisonous fumes or liquids escape.
Dispose of the batteries according to local standards. Defective or used batteries must be recycled in accordance with Directive 2006/66/EC. Hand in the batteries at a used battery collection point where they are recycled in an environmentally friendly manner. For more information, please contact your local waste management provider or our service centre.
Dispose of batteries in a discharged state. We recommend covering the contacts with an adhesive strip to protect against short circuits. Do not open the battery.
