Safe operating practices for electrically powered scarifiers.
GENERAL
a) This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
b) Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
c) Only use the product in the manner for the functions described in this user manual.
d) The operator or user is responsible for the use of the product.
e) Never operate the appliance when you are tired, ill or under the influence of alcohol, drugs or medicine.
f) If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly qualified persons in order to avoid hazard.
g) The machine should be supplied via a residual current device (RCD) with a tripping current of not more than 30 mA.
TRAINING
a) Read the instructions carefully. Be familiar with the controls and the correct use of the machine.
b) Never allow children or people unfamiliar with these instructions to use the machine. Local regulations can restrict the age of the operator.
c) Never operate the machine while people, especially children, or pets are nearby.
d) Keep in mind that the operator or user is
responsible for accidents or hazards occurring to other people or their property.
PREPARATION
a) While operating the machine always wear substantial footwear and long trousers. Do not operate the machine when barefoot or wearing open sandals. Avoid wearing clothing that is loose fitting or that has hanging cords or ties.
b) Thoroughly inspect the area where the machine is to be used and remove all objects which can be thrown by the machine.
c) Before using, always visually inspect to see that the roller is not worn or damaged. Replace worn or damaged components in sets to preserve balance. Replace damaged or unreadable labels.
d) Before use check the supply and extension cord for signs of damage or aging. If the cord becomes damaged during use, disconnect the cord from the supply immediately. DO NOT TOUCH THE CORD BEFORE DISCONNECTING THE SUPPLY. Do not use the machine if the cord is damaged or worn.
OPERATION
a) Operate the machine only in daylight or in good artificial light.
b) Avoid operating the machine in wet grass.
c) Always be sure of your footing on slopes.
d) Walk, never run.
e) Scarify across the face of slopes, never up and down.
f) Exercise extreme caution when changing direction on slopes.
g) Do not scarify excessively steep slopes.
h) Use extreme caution when reversing or pulling the machine towards you.
i) Stop the roller(s) if the machine has to be tilted for transportation when crossing surfaces other than grass, and when transporting the machine to and from the area to be used.
j) Never operate the machine with defective guards or shields, or without safety devices, for example deflectors and/or grass collector, in place.
k) Switch on the motor carefully according to instructions and with feet well away from the roller(s).
I) Do not tilt the machine when switching on the motor, except if the machine has to be tilted for starting. In this case, do not tilt it more than absolutely necessary and lift only the part, which is away from the operator.
m) Do not start the machine when standing in front of the discharge opening.
n) Do not put hands or feet near or under rotating parts. Keep clear of the discharge opening at all times.
o) Do not transport the machine while the power source is running.
p) Stop the machine, and remove plug from the socket. Make sure that all moving parts have come to a complete stop.
- whenever you leave the machine,
- before clearing blockages or unclogging chute,
- before checking, cleaning or working on the machine,
- after striking a foreign object. Inspect the machine for damage and make repairs before restarting and operating the machine;
if the machine starts to vibrate abnormally (check immediately)
- inspect for damage,
- replace or repair any damaged parts,
- check for and tighten any loose parts.
q) Keep the supply flexible cord away from hazardous moving parts to avoid damage and risk of electric shock.
r) Avoid using the machine in bad weather conditions especially when there is a risk of lightning.
MAINTENANCE AND STORAGE
a) Keep all nuts, bolts and screws tight to be sure the machine is in safe working
condition.
b) Check the grass collector frequently for wear or deterioration.
c) On machines with multi roller, take care as rotating one roller can cause other rollers to rotate
d) Be careful during adjustment of the machine to prevent entrapment of the fingers between moving rollers and fixed parts of the machine.
e) Always allow the machine to cool down before storing
f) When servicing the rollers be aware that, even though the power source is switched off, the rollers can still be moved.
g) Replace worn or damaged parts for safety. Use only genuine replacement parts and accessories.
ADDITIONAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS ON RISKS DUE TO VIBRATION
a) The declared vibration data represents the main applications of the appliance, but different uses of the appliance or poor maintenance can result in different vibration data. This may significantly increase the vibration level over the total working period.
b) Additional safety measure shall be taken to protect the user from effects of vibration. Maintain the appliance and its accessories, keep hands warm and organize work patterns and periods.
FOR USE OF BATTERIES
a) Do not open, dismantle, shred or short-circuit batteries. Danger of explosion.
b) Batteries (battery pack or batteries installed) shall not be exposed to excessive heat such as sunshine, fire or the like. Protect from mechanical shock. Keep dry and clean. Keep away from children.
c) Dispose of properly. Pay attention to environmental aspects of battery disposal. Do not dispose of in household waste.
d) Remove batteries when not using the tool for a longer period of time.
e) In case of battery leakage, remove the batteries and clean the battery compartment thoroughly. Avoid contact with skin and eyes.
f) In case of damage and improper use of the battery, Vapours may be emitted. Provide for fresh air and seek medical help in case of complaints. The vapours can irritate the respiratory system.

Intended use
The appliance is intended for scarifying and aereating grass and lawn areas in private outdoor environment, with less than 50 hours of use per year. The appliance is not intended for commercial use.
Any other use or modification to the appliance is considered as improper use and could cause considerable dangers.
Using the appliance

Caution! Before start using the appliance, check the roller and fastening elements for damage. Do not use the appliance if it is damaged.
- The appliance is equipped with a safety switch. In order to switch the appliance on, press and hold the safety button 1, tilt the appliance backwards, pull the on/off switching bar 13 and release the safety button 1.
- Keeping the on/off switching bar 13 pulled, wait until the appliance has reached full speed.
- Place both hands on the handle 14, return the appliance back to the ground, and slowly start pushing the appliance forward.
- Start working in parallel lines. For a better result, repeat the process in a 90^ angle.
- To switch the appliance off, release the on/off switching bar 13. Wait until the roller has come to a complete stop before proceeding with further actions.
INSTALL BACK WHEELS
1 Slide the back wheels 7 into the appliance on both sides.
2 Apply two screws on each side of the appliance to fix the back wheels 7.

Caution! Make sure there are no batteries in the battery slot.
PUSH BAR
1 Dismount the tilt angle adjustment 8 and fix the push bar brackets on both sides.
2 Attach the upper and lower push bars 12 and 2 with the locking levers 11.

Caution! Make sure the bend in the push bar brackets point inwards.
CABLE CLIP
1 Fasten the power cable 4 to the handle with the cable clips 3. Fix the Allen key holder to the upper push bar 12.
2 Ensure that it is possible to open and shut the safety flap 9 and that the locking levers 11 are fixed.

Caution! Never use the appliance with open locking levers.
TILT ANGLE
1 Open and loosen the tilt angle adjustment 8. Set the angle of the push bar equally on both sides to positions 1 or 2 when operating.
SCARIFYING DEPTH
2 Pull the height adjustment lever and choose the scarifying depth:
0 = drive position - 3 mm 1 = 3 mm 2 = 6 mm 3 = 9 mm
BATTERIES
1 Lift the cover of the battery slot 6 and push in two batteries until they click into place.
2 Insert the safety plug directly before starting and remove it when interrupting or terminating the work.

Caution! Make sure the batteries are always charged to the same
level.
1 Loosen the Allen screws with the Allen key and remove the old roller.
2 Slide in the new roller and fasten it with the Allen screws.

Caution! Make sure there are no batteries in the battery slot.

Warning! Always wear work gloves when changing the roller.

Care & Maintenance

Caution! Make sure the appliance is switched off and the batteries are
removed.
- Always keep the appliance clean, dry and free of oil or grease.
- Wear safety glasses and gloves to protect your eyes and hands whilst cleaning.
- For safe and proper working, always keep the machine and ventilation slots clean.
- Regularly check for obvious defects and/or damaged components.
- Periodically check all fixings. These could become loose with time due to vibration.
- Check the collection bag regularly for signs of wear.
- The most used part is the roller. Inspect the roller regularly:
- If the roller is worn or blunt, it must be replaced immediately.
- If the appliance starts to vibrate excessively, the roller seems to be unbalanced and must be replaced.
- Replace any worn or damaged parts.
- If the body of the appliance needs cleaning, wipe it with a brush or a soft damp cloth. A mild detergent can be used but nothing like alcohol, petrol or other cleaning agent.
- Never use caustic agents to clean plastic parts.
- Lubricate all moving parts at regular intervals.
- Store the appliance in a dry place.

1. Warranty Period
The warranty period is 3 years. The warranty period starts on the date of purchase. Please retain the original receipt or invoice in order to be able to furnish evidence of the date of purchase.
2. Warranty Scope
The warranty applies exclusively to production or material defects. The warranty applies only in the case of private use of the item.
The warranty does not apply to defects resulting from
- misuse or improper use,
- use of force or external influences,
- damage due to failure to observe the installation instructions or instructions for use,
- connecting to an incorrect grid voltage or current type,
• unprofessional installation,
• overloading the device, - use of non-approved attachments or accessories,
- failure to observe the maintenance and safety instructions,
- entry of foreign matter into the device,
- wear and tear due to normal use or

3. Warranty Services

The crossed-out wheeled bin logo requires the separate collection of waste electric and electronic equipment (WEEE). Such equipment may contain dangerous and hazardous substances. These appliances must be returned to a designated collection point for the recycling of WEEE and must not be disposed as unsorted municipal waste.
