Which battery to use with the Metabo STAB 18 LTX 150 BL?

Use Metabo or CAS (Cordless Alliance System) 18 V batteries, preferably with a capacity of at least 4 Ah for optimal runtime. The battery is not included with the saw.

How to change the jigsaw blade?

The STAB 18 LTX 150 BL is equipped with a tool-free blade change system (SDS). Push the unlocking lever, insert the blade to the stop, then release the lever. Make sure the blade is locked before starting.

Can you cut at an angle with this saw?

Yes, the base can be tilted from 0° to 45° on both sides. Unscrew the locking knob, tilt the base to the desired angle and tighten. Use the angle markings for precision.

How to adjust the cutting speed?

Use the speed adjustment wheel on the handle. Turn it to adjust the strokes per minute according to the material (wood, metal, plastic). Higher speeds are suitable for wood, lower speeds for metal.

What to do if the saw does not start?

First check that the battery is charged and correctly inserted. Make sure the anti-restart device (if present) is deactivated. If the problem persists, check the blade and the ventilation slots. If nothing works, contact Metabo customer service.

How to maintain the jigsaw?

Regularly clean the ventilation slots with a brush to avoid overheating. Remove chips from the blade holder. Lubricate the blade guide with a drop of oil. Store the saw in a dry place.

What is the maximum cutting depth in wood?

With a suitable blade, the cutting depth can reach up to 150 mm in solid wood. Use a long blade appropriate for the thickness.

Does the saw have a blade brake?

Yes, the Metabo STAB 18 LTX 150 BL has a blade brake that quickly stops the blade after releasing the switch, improving safety.

Can I use blades of brands other than Metabo?

Yes, the saw accepts standard T-shank blades. Make sure the blade is compatible in dimensions (shank, thickness) and suitable for the material to cut.

How to recycle the saw at end of life?

Do not dispose of the device with household waste. Return it to a WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment) collection point or to your dealer. Used batteries must be recycled separately.

2. Specified Conditions of Use

Chargers are only suitable for charging original Metabo and CAS (Cordless Alliance System) battery packs.

This device is not designed for use by persons (including children) with physical, sensory or mental disabilities, or with insufficient experience and/or knowledge, unless they are supervised by a person responsible for their safety, or have received instructions on how to use the device by this person.

ASC 290 is suitable for charging Li-Ion battery packs (12 V - 36 V, 1.3 Ah - 10 Ah, 3-10 cells). The device is suitable for charging electronic devices with a USB-C interface (like smartphones, MP3 players, tablets, etc.) - no data exchange

ASC 145 is suitable for charging Li-Ion battery packs (12 V - 36 V, 1.3 Ah - 10 Ah, 3-10 cells).

ASC 55 is suitable for charging Li-Ion battery packs (12 V - 36 V, 1.3 Ah - 10 Ah, 3-10 cells).

ASC 55 is suitable for charging NiCd battery packs (12 V, 1.7 Ah, 10 cells).

SC 36, SC 30 is suitable for charging Li-Ion battery packs (12 V - 18 V, 1.3 Ah - 10 Ah, 3-10 cells).

Never attempt to charge batteries that are not rechargeable. Danger of explosion!

The user bears sole responsibility for any damage caused by inappropriate use.

Generally accepted accident-prevention regulations and accompanying safety instructions should be observed.

Danger - electrical voltage!

A slightly acidic, flammable fluid may leak from defective Li-ion battery packs!

If battery fluid leaks out and comes into contact with your skin, rinse immediately with plenty of water. If battery fluid leaks out and comes into contact with your eyes, wash them with clean water and seek medical attention immediately! Do not recharge a fully charged battery pack!

Only for use in indoor rooms.

6. Initial Operation

Before commissioning, check that the rated mains voltage and mains frequency stated on the type plate match your power supply.

Devices like these that generate direct current can influence simple earth leakage protection devices.

Use a type F or better, with a release current of max. 30 mA.

Before commissioning the charger, ensure that the air slots are free. Minimum distance to other objects is 5 cm!

6.1 Self-test

Plug in.

The warning display (4) and the operating indicator (3) light up one after the other for approx. 1 second and the installed fan runs for approx. 5 seconds.

7. Use

7.1 Charging battery pack

Push the battery pack completely to the stop on the sliding seat (2).

The operating indicator (3) flashes.

Note: To have the charge level displayed on Li-ion battery packs, first take the battery pack out of the charger and then press the button on the battery pack.

7.2 Conservation charge

Once the charging process has finished, the battery charger automatically switches to conservation mode.

The battery pack can remain in the battery charger and is therefore always ready for use.

The operating display (3) lights up continuously.

7.3 ASC 290 only: Charge USB device

Only connect USB devices which are compatible with the USB standard. Using

incompatible devices can lead to malfunctions, damage or injuries.

Open the cover (6) and plug a USB device with a suitable cable into the USB-C port (7). The device is charged.

The USB-C port (7) is only supplied with voltage (LED indicator (8) illuminated) if no battery pack is charged.

If a battery pack and USB device are connected at the same time, the USB charging process will start automatically after the end of the battery pack charging process.

8. Faults

8.1 Warning display (4) lights up continuously

Battery pack is not charged. Excessive/insufficient temperature. When the temperature of the battery

pack is between 0 °C and 50 °C, the charging process begins automatically.

ASC 290: Warning display (4) lights up continuously and charge status indicator (5) flashes: Charger is hot, or battery pack is cold or hot, battery pack is charged with reduced charging capacity.

8.2 Warning display (4) flashes

• Battery pack is defective. Remove the battery pack immediately from the charger.
• The battery pack was not pushed correctly onto the sliding seat (2). See chapter 7.1.
• ASC 290: Warning display (4) lights up and charge status indicator (5) is off: battery pack is not charged. charger too hot.

9. Repairs

Repairs to the charger must only be carried out by qualified electricians.

If the mains connection cable of this device is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer or the Customer Service department of the manufacturer or a similarly qualified person to prevent endangering personnel and property.

10. Environmental Protection

Observe national regulations on environmentally compatible disposal and on the recycling of disused machines, packaging and accessories.
