1 This appliance can be used by children aged from 8 years and above and persons with reduced physical, sensory or mental capabilities or lack of experience and knowledge if they have been supervised/instructed and understand the hazards involved. Children shall not play with the appliance. Cleaning and user maintenance shall not be done by children unless they are older than 8 and supervised. Keep the appliance and cable out of reach of children under 8 years.

GETTING STARTED

  • Your beard trimmer requires 2 AAA alkaline batteries (first set included). We recommend that you use VARTA® batteries.
  • Turn the appliance off.
  • Open the battery compartment by pressing in the ridged areas and pulling downward.
  • Insert batteries so that the (+) and (-) marks on the batteries face the same marks in the battery compartment.
  • Batteries are to be inserted with the correct polarity.

BEFORE YOU BEGIN

• Always comb your beard or moustache with a fine comb before you start trimming.

ADJUSTING THE TRIM LENGTH

• The trimmer comb can be adjusted to give you 9 different trim lengths.

Note: Use the beard trimmer without the adjustable comb for trimming hair, lose to the skin. This will trim hair to 1mm, holding the blades perpendicular to the skin will trim hair to 0.4mm.

\* ATTACHING AND REMOVING THE ADJUSTABLE COMB

  • Ensure the product is switched off.
    • To attach the comb place the comb of the beard trimmer so that the teeth of the comb sit on top of the teeth of the blades.
  • Slide on the comb until it sits securely on the beard trimmer.
    • To remove the adjustable comb, ensure the trimmer is switched off.
  • Push the back of the comb upwards and lift away from the beard trimmer.

Note: the on/off switch controls the adjustable comb lock switch to ensure consistent grooming results. When the trimmer is turned on the comb lock switch is enabled. When the trimmer is turned off, the comb lock switch needs to be manually disengaged in order to adjust the length setting. This is when the comb length is able to be adjusted.

TO THIN AND TAPER THE BEARD/MOUSTACHE

  • Attach the adjustable comb to the trimmer blade and select the desired length by sliding the adjustable comb up or down.
  • The setting will appear on the length position indicator. If you are trimming for the first time start with the maximum trimming length setting.
  • Once you have your desired adjustable comb length turn the trimmer on, this will secure the length increment on the comb.
  • Place the flat top of the trimmer comb against the skin.
  • Use motions towards edge of beard/moustache line to trim to desired locations in facial area and away from beard in neck area.

TRIMMING EDGE OF SIDEBURNS

- Start with edge of sideburn, and with the trimmer blades resting lightly against your skin, use motions towards edge of sideburn line to trim the desired locations in facial area.

TRIMMING THE NAPE OF YOUR NECK

Note: You will need a hand mirror for this operation if performing it alone.

  • Remove the comb or adjustable comb from the wide trimmer. Use your fingers to lift the hair at the base of your head up off the neck.
  • Your index finger should be covering the roots of the hairs you are lifting to prevent accidental removal by the beard trimmer.
  • Using your other hand, hold the trimmer to the base of your neck with the cutting unit facing up, and move the trimmer up the length of the neck until it touches your finger covering the hair roots at the base of your head.
  • Be sure to move the unit slowly when performing this operation and to keep the hair roots at the base of your head out of the way of the trimmer.

BLADE RELEASE

• Make sure the product is turned off.
- Remove the adjustable comb.
- Remove the blades by pushing your thumb upwards under the blades and move the blade set away from the trimmer body.
• To reattach the blades, align the back of the blades with the back housing at the top of the trimmer and push down until the blade set clicks into place.

→ TIPS FOR BEST RESULTS

  • Beard, moustache and sideburn hairs should be dry.
  • Avoid using lotions before use.
  • Comb your hair in the direction that it grows.
  • To ensure long lasting performance of the trimmer, clean the blades and unit regularly.
  • Ensure the product is switched off.
  • Do not use harsh or corrosive cleaners on the units or their cutters.
  • This product has washable blades. Ensure the blades are detached from the trimmer before washing the blades. Wash the blades under a running tap to remove any hair clippings.
    • After rinsing under a tap ensure the blades are dry.
  • Please note, the main body of the trimmer is not washable and should be kept away from water.
    • After each use it is recommended to clean hair from the blades either by rinsing the blades or using the cleaning brush.

→ TROUBLESHOOTING

• The trimmer does not work when turned on:
- Ensure the batteries are properly inserted.
- Trimmer blades do not move:
• The cutting unit may be dirty and clogged.
- Clean and lubricate the unit.

INSERTING BATTERIES

  • Your hygiene clipper requires 1 'AA' alkaline battery. We recommend using Varta batteries.
  • Ensure the product is switched off.
  • Rotate the battery compartment cap approximately 14 turn anti-clockwise then pull off.
  • Insert 1 'AA' alkaline battery so that the (+) and (-) marks on the battery face the same mark in the battery compartment.
  • Place the cap back on the unit using the alignment marks and rotate clockwise until the cap snaps into place.

Note: your trimmer will not work if the batteries are inserted incorrectly.

Note: remove batteries if the unit is not in use for long periods.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE

• The On/Off switch is integrated into the battery cap.
- Rotate the battery cap clockwise to turn on.
• To turn off, simply rotate the battery cap anti-clockwise to the off position.

★ TO REMOVE HAIR FROM NOSE

  • Insert the groomer's cutting unit gently into the nostril.
  • Gently move the groomer in and out of the nostril and at the same time rotate the groomer.
  • Avoid inserting the cutting unit more than 6mm into your nostril.

TO REMOVE HAIR FROM EAR

  • Insert the cutting unit gently into the outer ear canal opening.
    • Gently rotate appliance in a circular motion.
  • Avoid inserting the cutting unit more than 6mm into your ear canal.

NOTE: Do not apply excessive pressure as this damages the clipper head and may cause skin injury.

  • Care for your product to ensure a long lasting performance. We recommend you clean your appliance after each use. The easiest and most hygienic way to clean the trimmer is by rinsing the product head after use with water.
    • The trimmer blades can be kept running whilst rinsing.

\* AFTER EACH USE

• Rinse the accumulated hair from the cutters and shake off excess water.
- Wipe the main unit with a damp cloth and dry immediately.

CLEANING CAUTIONS

• Do not use harsh or corrosive cleaners on the units or their blades.
- Do not apply pressure or hard objects to cutters.
- Do not submerge in water as damage will occur.
